Wanted this adapter so I could use my 1 1/4" bike rack on my 2" hitch. Sized is reduced by welded steel plates inside the reducer. Poor tolerances. Was more like 1 3/8" inside width, so my 1 1/4" bike rack mount flops over to one side or the other.

I hate to hear that the adapter is not working for your bike rack. I am having our Quality department look into this for you.

by:

Another great product from etrailer. This item along with my recent hitch purchase is the "one two" punch for quality products and service. Etrailer is absolutely the best. Would highly recommend their products and great service to everyone that is looking for quality at an incredible price.

by:

Exactly what I needed for my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited so that I can use my 1 1/4" Thule bikerack on my 2" trailer hitch.

Still works great. Have had it for nearly 4000 miles carrying the bike rack with no issues.

by:

I needed a hitch adapter for a bikec rack but all the ones I found were way too long and stuck out too far. This was the only short one I could find. It works great and I drove 2,000 miles with it.

by:

The reducer fits well and receives my existing riser well, while giving me the little bit of extension I needed to get beyond the tailgate mounted spare tire. Great product!

by:

This etrailer product was the least expensive 1.25" adapter I could find. The product works as advertised but the inside clearance is little large when my bike rack is installed compared to when I install the bike rack on my other vehicle which has a 1.25" receiver hitch. I plan to use a small piece of sheet metal to act a shim in order to take up some of the slack.

by:

Excellent products and fast delivery!

by:

Nice job!!!

by:

your parts were sloppy tolerences and did not fit together well. had to buy another hitch reducer from another company.

There may be looseness using the extender due to how the receiver hitch was machined. When manufacturer it can happen where the receiver will be on the bigger side of two inches as it may be be exactly two inches. This happens with any kind of accessory. I recommend using an anti rattle device such as part # RSCP and watch the review video below.

by:

Solid piece of hardware, no shortcuts. Simple to install and secure.

by:

Right part for the right price! Met my needs perfectly! Able to adapt my new bike rack to my etrailer hitch. Thanks!

by:

Great service

by:

Product was described perfectly on the website. I got exactly what I ordered. Price for the product was 100% reasonable as was the cost of shipping. Product arrived well-packaged and on time with no issues at all. Would use this website again without thinking twice.

by:

Did same mounted my winch in multiple p laces.

by:

As advertised

Fit as promised

  • Availability of Class I Hitch for 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
Nobody makes a Class I hitch for the 2022 or 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV. Realistically, with a Class III option for both years it is unlikely anyone plans to make one. We typically recommend a Class III regardless because it does not have the limitations of a Class I hitch and can be easily adapted. The Curt # C38DR has been confirmed to fit the 2023 model by the manufacturers. We also have confirmation from other 2023 Bolt EUV owners that the hitch fits. I see the Curt was previously recommended,...

  • Is Replacement Hitch Adapter 853-7489 A Generic Fit For All 1-1/4 Inch Racks
The Replacement 2 inch Hitch Adapter, part # 853-7489, you asked about is an adapter, that Thule says will fit TH9028, TH9029, TH9030, TH9031 and TH934XTR bike carriers. They have the threaded hole in the shank that aligns with the hole on the adapter. If your bike carrier is one of those listed, this adapter would work for you. If you do have one of the bike carriers listed then this adapter will allow you to use a 1-1/4 inch shank bike rack with a hitch that has a 2 inch receiver without...

  • 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Riser For 1-1/4" Hitch Mounted Accessories
The Trailer Hitch Adapter # e93YR is the closest extender/riser to the Trailer Hitch Extender # e68YR you found. The adapter does change from the 1-1/4" receiver to a 2" receiver for the accessory. You would need the Reducer # e63YR to get back down to a 1-1/4" receiver. Be sure to consider both the extender you found and the adapter that I gave you above will reduce the capacity of the receiver by 50%.

  • Is There A 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver For A 2018 Subaru Forester
Yes, we carry the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12100 which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Subaru Forester. I do however recommend going with a 2" option like the # e98839 though so that you can tow a wider range of accessories. Most bike racks, cargo carriers, ballmounts, etc. all require a 2" opening so it's best to get the larger hitch and use a reducer like # e63YR when necessary. If you plan on towing anything with lights then you'll also want...

  • Trailer Hitch Fit for 2022 Kia Niro PHEV Plug In Hybrid
We do indeed have a 2 inch hitch that works with the 2022 Kia Niro PHEV. You'll want to use the Curt 13497 Class III hitch, which we carry as part # C37BR. If your Thule rack is compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch, you'll want to use a reducer sleeve like # e63YR. I've linked to the installation instructions.

  • Recommended 2 Inch to 1-1/4 Inch Reducer for a Bike Rack
Since you're just hooking up a bike rack, I recommend the Trailer Hitch Reducer item # e63YR. Neither one of them will cut your tongue weight capacity in half because they are reducers not adapters. The difference between item # HT02 and item # e63YR is you can tow and hook up accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers with item # HT02. The etrailer Reducer item # e63YR is only meant to be used for accessories.

  • Hitch Riser For 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver To Carry a Cargo Carrier
We do have the Trailer Hitch Adapter # e93YR which will fit into a 1-1/4" hitch receiver and provides a 2" receiver that sits 5" above your receiver. They do not offer one like this with a ball mount like the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver # D210 you found. This is due to the limited weight and clearance a 1-1/4" receiver has being mounted on smaller vehicles. We do have a 2" to 1-1/4" Reducer # e63YR if you are also using a 1-1/4" Cargo Carrier # 63155.

  • Recommended 2 Hitch for a 2023 Hyundai Tucson
I have a solution for you but the only hitches available for the 2023 Hyundai Tucson are class III. The best option is going to be to use a 2" hitch with an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Reducer item # e63YR. This reducer will allow you to use 1-1/4" accessories with a 2" hitch. It is a better option all around to go with a class III hitch if the option is available. The higher capacity and availability will pay off over the life of your vehicle. The class II hitches are typically more...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2022 Toyota Venza Using 1-1/4" Accessories
I have a solution for you that will allow you to use any 1-1/4" accessories you may already own but they did not make any 1-1/4" hitches for the 2022 Toyota Venzas. Instead you are going to want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e25AR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Venza with included hardware. • Recommended Hitch for a 2018 Mercedes B250
No, I am sorry Ted but the Curt item # C12163 won't fit your 2018 Mercedes B250. The only hitch we have available for it is the Draw-Tite item # 75223 you referenced. If you are needing to use 1-1/4" accessories with this hitch, I recommend the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e63YR. This will allow you to use your accessories in the 2" receiver without sacrificing capacity. I have linked a couple of videos below so you can see how to get these parts set up.

Sorry but no! The only hitch available for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander ES is the 2" Curt item # C87WR you were looking at. If you are wanting to use 1-1/4" accessories with this hitch all you will need is the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e63YR. This inserts inside the 2" receiver and allows you to mount 1-1/4" accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. It is not an adapter so you will not lose any tongue weight capacity or violate your accessories...

  • Availability of 1-1/4" Hitch for 2014 Toyota Highlander
Nobody makes a 1-1/4" receiver for your 2014 Toyota Highlander. All of the hitches are going to be Class III with a 2" receiver like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # DT84MR. What you can do is add in a reducer like the # e63YR to convert it to a 1-1/4" for your accessories.

  • How to Reduce the Size of the 2 inch Receiver on Your Vehicles Trailer Hitch
Based on the picture that you sent in, it looks like the top part of the shank attaches to the bike rack and the bottom portion, the part you are holding, looks like it is 1-1/4 inches and inserts into your hitch. You can find the size of your shank by measuring two sides (outside width and height) - I will attach a help article. If this is the case, then we have a Hitch Reducer # e63YR that will reduce the size of your 2 inch hitch on your vehicle to a 1-1/4 inch hitch. Not only will...

  • Converting Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 1-1/4 Inch Receiver to Fit a 2 Inch Receiver
The preferred method to install your Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack # Y02445 with your 2" hitch is to use the Replacement Tongue for Yakima HoldUp Bike Racks # 8880580. Since this replaces the shank and isn't using an adapter it will help prevent any play that you might have with an adapter. The other option is to use a hitch reducer like the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63YR.
