An example hauling a heavy load with and without Timbren.

When hauling heavy loads, the resistance from Timbren's hollow rubber springs will work with the trailer's suspension to raise the trailer's ride height. This is will take additional strain off of the hitch components and help the trailer ride easier.

Under pressure, hollow rubber springs are designed to progressively support the suspension.

The Timbren system includes brackets that will be bolted to the trailer frame above the axle. Hollow rubber springs are then bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits one inch above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride you are used to.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape provides increased resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the trailer level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of the trailer. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when hauling off-center loads.

An example of a trailers swaying without Timbren SES

Timbren Suspension systems help compensate for all of the probable causes of trailer sway from unbalanced loads to gusts of wind from passing vehicles. Installing Timbren will make your trailer track better behind your vehicle and provide a safer more comfortable towing experience.

  • Adding Shocks or Helper Springs to a Trailer to Go Off Road
To answer the last question first, trailer axles move not just up and down but front to back a little as well; especially when there is more than one axle. Having shocks at an angle is more ideal for that type of set up than ones mounted straight up and down. So between the Equa-Flex and the shocks I would go with the shocks for your purposes. Lippert has 2 shock kit options. First is # LC281281 for 3 inch diameter axles. And second is # LC281255 for 2-3/8 inch diameter axles. Another...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for Trailer with 2-1/2 Inch Wide Leaf Springs
I have a solution for you but because of the width of your leaf springs, the SuperSprings # TSS-106-40 are not going to be a workable solution for you since they do not make a SuperSpring to work with that size leaf spring. I would instead recommend using the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers # TTRA1032 which will provide you with support for up to 7000-lbs of cargo on your single axle trailer and because the bolt directly to the trailer frame and sit above...

  • Timbren Suspension Versus Shock Absorbers for Triple Axle Trailer
All around, shock absorbers like the # LC281255 would provide a smoother ride than a rubber spring like the Timbren SES type system like # TTRA1032. You'll want to be sure to use the correctly rated system for your axle capacity. The # LC281255 you'd looked at is rated for 3500 lb axles, you'd need three of them. For a higher rated 5200-7000 lb axle, use # RM-2460 along with the # 2460-50 add-on.

  • Timbren Suspension Kit to Help Stabilize 8,000 lb Trailer
Yes the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Heavy-Duty Trailers # TTRA5602 would help stabilize the suspension of a trailer, but since your travel trailer weighs 8,000 lbs this would be too harsh since this is for a 16,000 lb axle. Instead you'd want the part # TTRA1032 which is more appropriately rated for your trailer.

  • How Much Space Is Required for the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System TTRA1032
I do have an option but the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System part # TTRA1032 requires 3" between the frame and axle/leaf springs so it won't work. I can't recommend you raise the frame from the axle to use these as the preload would not be correct. Instead, the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-107-40 or part # TSS-106-40 is what I recommend and you would actually lift the trailer frame from the axle to install these as they are designed to be installed with a preload.

  • Recommendation For Upgrading Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizer
The Equa-Flex Equalizer, Item # LC279687, is already an upgraded equalizer so there are not many "next level" options. The Lippert Components Center Point Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade, Item # LC1565391, is an overall better system but not significantly so. If you need a smoother ride, you could add shocks like the Lippert Bolt-On Mount Kit w/Heavy Duty Shocks, Item # LC281281. The Timbren Trailer Suspension, Item # TTRA1032, could also be an option worth considering. If you send...

  • Cedar Creek Hathaway 5th Wheel Suspension Enhancement Recommendation
The Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Medium-Duty Trailers # TTRA1032 that you referenced will give your trailer's suspension a noticeable amount of additional support. It will help level your trailer side to side as the additional support will reduce the sag on that side of the trailer. I'd recommend making sure that you have the correct rated leaf springs on your trailer and that they aren't worn out either.

  • Recommendation of Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System for a 3,000-Lb Utility Trailer
I would recommend to use the Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System , part # TTRA1032, on your 3,000-lb utility trailer. This enhancement system is for medium-duty trailers. It has a weight capacity of 7,000 lbs. This does not mean that you will be able to carry more weight than what your trailer is rated for, but it will help reduce sag and sway when you put the load of your equipment on the trailer. It is always better to have more weight capacity than not enough weight capacity....

Sounds like you are trying to figure out the weight capacity for your 3 axle trailer. It is nearly impossible to determine leaf spring capacity based on dimensions. It is not uncommon for a trailer to lean to one side even from the factory as heavier appliances can be on the same side or there could be multiple slides on that side. In order to try and combat this issue there are options from SumoSprings and Timbren.
