Video Transcript for TorkLift Wiring Harness Extensions For SuperTruss Hitch Extenders Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Torque lift line of wiring harness extensions for use with the super truck hitch extenders. These are available in several different lengths. Just depending on how long that hitch extender that you're using is going to be. This is Torque's Lifts 36" extension that matches their 36" super stress. If you're going with the longer super truss, get the longer. If you're going with the shorter, get the shorter. Really a nice option to where you can plug it right into the back of your vehicle, bring your power down to where it's right here, readily available and accessible for you to get to. What we're going to do is take our, what looks like a trailer plug end, we're going to pass it through our bracket.

It's just flexible enough we can kind of bend that bracket so allow it to come through. Then here's what we want, that's our 7 pole connector. We're going to be bale to hook our trailer up right here. We've got the nice safety chain connections there an then also our wiring connection. Slide that in.

We're pass our screw through the face there and then just put our nuts on the back. Now, the hardware's not provided so you'll need some hardware to pass through there. You can see our bracket's kind of got the oblong holes to make it to where it'll fit a lot of different style harnesses. I'm going to put a flat washer on to give our nut a good surface to bite to when we tighten it down. Now we can go ahead and tighten those down as well. At that point, we're mounted on, got a nice secure connection point.

We can basically just plug this right into the back of our truck. You don't want this to be hanging down underneath our hitch where it might drag or something like that. That will complete today's look at the Torque Lift wiring harness extensions for the super truck hitch extender.

Would have liked to have seen it about 2 inches longer. Would recommend order the next length up from the length of your extension. Would give you a little more wiggle room and more then one way to route it.

by:

perfect extension for a too-short trailer power cord. Works great for the whole past year.

  • 7-Way Extension For Use With Saris Door County Bike Rack
Happy to help you out, and the 7-way extension Evangeline used in the video on the 4Runner of the Saris Door County Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # SAR42RR is the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension # TLW6036. This is a total of 42 inches long, which may be a bit too long for your application so I think the better option is the 32 inch long TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension # TLW6028.

  • Recommended Hitch Extension For a 2003 Ford F-250 With Slide In Camper 28" From Hitch Pin Center
The only way I can recommend is by replacing your factory receiver with the TorkLift SuperHitch # TLF1002-30 on your 2003 Ford F-250. This will allow you to use a 28" Extension # TLE1528. This will help to ensure you do not have any issues with turning clearance but also with hills which may pitch your trailer and could cause an issue with clearance on your camper. While it might be tempting to use a combination of extensions and ball mounts there are so many variables and your hitch weight...

  • Recommended Solution to Extend a 7-Way to 7-Way Connector from a 2006 Lexus LX 470 to Pop Up Camper
The TorkLift wiring harness extension # TLW6028 will be a short term solution or if it's an occasional fix. The reason I say that is because it opens up possibilities of problems. These problems could result in becoming disconnected, additional connection points that could get dirt and grime in the connector to name a few. To avoid some issues associated with corrosion on the connection points you can use dielectric grease # 11755 or # LT37534 that seals out moisture and prevents corrosion....

  • Trailer Wiring Extension to Allow Utility Trailer Plug to Reach Truck Bed Connector
We can definitely help you! If your trailer and truck connectors are RV-style 7-way blade types we offer extensions in various lengths. For example, if you need several feet of additional length we offer the Curt Universal 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 7-Way Extension # C56080 which is 7-feet long. If a shorter extension will suffice you might use the 28-inch TorkLift # TLW6028, 36-inch # TLW6036 or 48-inch # TLW6048. If either your truck or trailer use different connectors (the linked article...

  • 28" Hitch Extension for 1999 Ford F-350 Truck
The only way to achieve this reach on a Super Duty truck is to first install the TorkLift # TLF1002-30 Class-5 Custom fit hitch. Add to that the TorkLift # TLE1528 Super Truss Hitch 28"Extension. Because you are extending an extra 28" you will need the TorkLift # TLW6028 wiring harness extension. Most of the other extensions require additional stablilty chains.

  • Recommended SuperTruss And TorkLift SuperHitch on 2016 Chevy 2500
There is really only one solution I recommend that will work for your desire to pull a trailer with the tailgate down. I recommend removing your Class V hitch and replacing it with the TorkLift SuperHitch # TLC1211. This would need to be used with a factory hitch and the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 36" Long # TLE1536 to clear your tailgate. There are wiring extensions available as well like the 36 inch # TLW6036. There are different SuperTruss...

  • Can TorkLift Wiring Extensions for SuperTruss Hitch Extenders Be Shortened
You could cut and resplice the # TLW6532 7-way wiring harness extension to shorten it, but I'd personally be leery about that as the splices could possibly be vulnerable to the elements and corrosion. The best practice would be to get a harness in the correct length so you don't need to cut it up. TorkLift offers the extensions in the following lengths: • 24 inch, part # TLW6024 • 28 inch, part # TLW6028 • 32 inch, part # TLW6032 • 36 inch, part # TLW6036 • 42 inch, part # TLW6042 • 48...

These will allow you to plug into the 7-way on your truck and go back to the mount on the Extension. If you have a Slide In Camper that needs to connect to the 7-Way as well the 21"-28" TorkLift Wiring Extension # TLW6524 or 32"-36" TorkLift Wiring Extension # TLW6532 can be used as it has a 2nd port for...

  • How to Pick Out 7-Way Extension When Using Curt Hitch Extender C45048
When using the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 that you referenced at the 34 inch length to pick the correct Torklift 7-way extension really depends on the length of the 7-way harness on your trailer. If it's one that would be pulled tight if it was extended at all past the coupler then I'd recommend going with the longer version part # TLW6036. If your trailer has a connector that has more than enough length you'd want the shorter version part # TLW6028. Basically you want to make...
