Video Transcript for Dexter Axle Trailer Axles K71-707-01 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Number 10 Torflex two and five-eights inch lift kit for a single axle. Now, this lift kit will raise your trailer frame to provide two and five-eights additional inches, between the trailer frame and the axle. The kit will include the spacers, the mounting hardware for a single axle application. This is designed for use on trailers with a single Number 10 Torflex axle with a 2300 pound to 4000 pound capacity. Does include everything shown here, two of the number ten frame spacers, in the bag here, the hardware is 12 plain washers, eight locking hex nuts, eight hex screws, and a set of detailed instructions on how to install everything. And then I just want to give you the measurements of how much lift it's going to give you.

It's going to be right at two and five-eights inch. But that should do it for the review on the Number 10 Torflex two and five-eights inch lift kit for a single axle.

The trailer is a Palomino Solaire 147x. Installation was straightforward. The lift in combination with taller wheels and tires accomplished the desired ride height.

Can you believe that etrailer asks for reviews after a year? That's confidence in their products! The Torflex Life Kit for my 2014 Casita 17 Deluxe Independence has worked great. I no longer drag going through dips and up my steep driveway.

I have not had any problems with the Casita since installing this lift kit.

by:

Ver good! Only problem I had was mounting bolts were bigger than holes in my trailer and took a little doing to make larger.

by:

This kit was extremely easy to install. Great color directions came with it. On our 2019 E-Pro 19BH travel trailer it was as simple as remove 4 factory bolts (2 per side), lower the axle a bit, place lift block, & install 4 new bolts per side. With this kit, new wheels, & tires we were able to gain 4 inches of lift for our camper. Our waste holding tank drain pipe & valves were so close to the ground & we constantly would drag pulling into or out of areas. This gives us great peace of mind & our camper looks amazing to us now.

by:

Perfect fit - added the extra clearance needed. Before and after photos attached.
Also went from 14"to 15"wheels.

by:

Installed this kit on a 2017 Airstream Sport 16. We boondock a lot and the ground clearance was a problem. The 3" lift was a perfect solution to even out the ride height and give extra clearance in the back. The instructions are clear and I was able to do the entire project alone in just over 2 hours. The metal spacer fits precisely on to top of the axle, no adjustments were needed. I used 2 jack stands, 2 floor jacks, and an air gun which is a must or it would take twice as long. One of the jacks was used to hold the axle and to lift it up after the spacer is fitted. The lift kit is very good quality (besides the paint) and I feel confident it will last. Easy with the right tools!

Been across the country and back, no handling issues whatsoever, can’t tell the difference from stock. It’s a keeper

by:

Parts fit perfectly, very happy will how my trailer looks now.

by:

Does not fit on Lance 1575 trailer

by:

Easy install with all the hardware I needed. I provided a flat surface to do the work, jack stands and jacks, socket set and torque wrench.

by:

The lift kit is installed and works fine. It is installed on a 17 foot Casita Liberty WITH the shock absorber kit. The DEXTER people gave me 8 nuts that did not fit the bolts supplied. I HAD TO go to ACE hardware for 8 correct nuts at $x.xx each. I called etrailer and Odelia K was wonderful and has refunded me the full cost of the correct nuts. etrailer rocks. For the install, pulling on a torque wrench to get xxx lbs is no easy task while under the trailer. Instructions from Dexter were fine. Follow them and you will be happy with the result.

by:

I installed the K71-707-01 lift on a 2017 Airstream Basecamp. It took a little over an hour with help from a friend. The minimal paint chipping on the lift blocks was easily remedied with black spray paint in 30 seconds. Hardly something to worry about. The key to install is having a short socket for the bolts as little room exists between brake drums and other parts of the assembly. A pair of vice grip pliers is also very helpful in holding the opposing side of the bolt from spinning while tightening/torking the nut in place. Lastly, be sure that you have two wooden blocks to set the loosened axel on after detaching. If you set the blocks 3” below the axel while jacked off the ground, the lift blocks slide in place perfectly. Super easy and inexpensive modifications.

by:

Have a dexter#10 on my 16’ Casita deluxe model. Fit just as it should, paint on brackets was already chipped but..who really cares. Not a chance they’re powder coated, looks like spray paint. Highly recommend backing whatever trailer you’re putting these on, up onto wood blocks or bricks to achieve the height of the lift first, that way you only need to lift the trailer high enough to get the blocks out and you’re ready to install. Also I used a square underneath the trailer to mark alignment points for after the lift was installed to insure the axle was indeed aligned with the trailer. This lift kit was cheaper than an 8” drop hitch for my truck, highly recommend it!!

by:

Was a retrofit for my 2018 Forest River Flagstaff A-Frame Model 21TBHW. Dexter #10 Torflex axel No drilling or welding but tires do need to be off for the lift bracket install. Instructions provided are well written & clear. You will need jack stands and a good torque wrench to complete the install correctly. No issues with brake cables being short. If you can or have rotated your own tires this should not be a problem for you. Bolts have to be torqued and even with a great torque wrench and a 3 foot pull arm you are in a tight spot so if you can't bench press 150+ you need to get a battery or air impact torque driver. Hope this helps. I am very happy with the install and got about 3.5" of lift easy to see in the photos.

by:

Quick easy install. Took about 2 hours to do both sides.
Having an impact wrench make it easier, but it can be done with hand tools.

One photo shows the lift kit installed. And the second shows to wheels not tucked up in the wheel well. (sorry I have no before photo)

by:

Lift kit was used on Jayco X17Z Camper, as I wanted to do more rural camping and gain better ground clearance, as this camper is very low in the first place.
Product was great and everything fitted nicely with no issues, see pictures. The only issue I had was with the nuts and bolts, they were quite tight on the threads, certainly won't come undone.

by:

Kit was just what I needed. Was able to install it myself, the only difficult part was getting the trailer completely off the ground and placing solid jack stands. Otherwise super easy install with regular tools. Gained about 2 1/2 inches on clearance.

by:

179SE riverside Retro:
Simple installation
and good quality.
Arrived in good time and took an afternoon to install by myself. Lifted the trailer up as I go a lot of places off road. Takes away a bit from the retro look as the old trailers were pretty low to the ground but the benefit of ground clearance makes up for that. Strongly suggest this if you go off road as it brings sewer drain up which is the low point of the trailer.

by:

Before and after pics.
Perfect fit! Thank
you!

by:

Worked just as they said it would. Only took a few hours with hand tools. If I were doing this more than once I'd have an impact wrench instead of a ratchet. So far I have never had a bad experience with etrailer. Ordered on phone Wed, received it on Friday. What more could I ask. The trailer axle had been replaced by previous owner and the tire rubbed the fender. etrailer walked me through on who to contact and determine which Dexter spacer I needed. Great sales reps and thanks Paula

by:

Package arrived quickly and tracking communication was great. The install took a couple of hours and was easy due to the great instructions. I will agree with another review in saying you better have some upper body strength if you are using a torque wrench. 130-150 ft lbs takes some effort. The parts fit perfect and gave me the lift I needed.

by:

super easy install, perfect fit. I was done in less than an hour. added a bunch of ground clearance to my first generation R Pod. I plan on adding some bigger tires to get a little more, but this kit was simple and did the job.

by:

The right part at the right price.

by:

Customer service on this order was exceptional right from the start. Received the right product, in a quick timeline, (with free shipping!) to add a lift kit in our 2019 GeoPro Camper. Product install was super easy and did it right in my driveway. Will definitely do business here again!!!!

by:

The service I received was good, and the lift kit was delivered early. Unfortunately, these do not work for a 2014 Lance 1575. These trailers have some sort of specialty axle that is not compatible with this lift kit.

by:

Own a 17' Casita trailer towed by a Sienna. Visit & camp in some rough places. Rear axle dragged a few times but one spot damaged the built-in rear jacks. Switched to oversize tires. Not enough so installed the Dexter Lift Kit. Rapid delivery by etrailers with all parts and clear instructions. Installed by myself in one day (with breaks to straighten up). Of course original bolts hard to loosen in the limited space. Lift brackets easy to put in place and bolt up. Used Red Locktite and torqued bolts. (Loosening them next guy's problem). After hitch adjustment, back on the road with 3" extra clearance. Works great - nothing fallen off yet! Another successful etrailer project for me.

  • Lift Kit for Dexter 3K # 10 Torflex Axle on Jayco Feather Ultra Light Single Axle Trailer
You have a 3K rated Dexter # 10 Torflex axle. As long as your axle doesn't have the 3 inch tall mounting brackets, the # K71-707-01 which would provide 2-5/8 inches of lift is the lift kit you'd want. The # K71-723-01 kit you'd looked at is for the # 9 Torflex, and wouldn't work with your axle.

  • Lift Kit for 2015 Lance 1575 Trailer Trailer with Dexter Torflex Axle
Based on my research your 2015 Lance 1575 Trailer Trailer is equipped with a Dexter #10 Torflex Axle for which the Lift Kit # K71-707-01 will work perfectly as long as it doesn't use 3 inch high profile brackets. You can verify the axle type by checking the main tag/sticker on the axle itself. This kit will raise the trailer frame to provide an additional 2-5/8 inches of clearance. This is the only lift kit we have available for this axle but this should give you enough clearance to avoid...

Thank you for providing all your axle information Orrie. I do see your 2014 Forest River R-Pod 177 does have the #10 Torflex which would use the Lift Kit # K71-707-01. This provides 2-5/8" of additional ground clearance. You are not going to notice any less stability with your R-Pod since you are only adding a lift block and not changing any of the suspension characteristics that much. I can not find the exact axles that are on your 2017.5 Lance 1995 travel trailer, but if you look at the axle tag it will let you know. Your Lance 1995 travel trailer has tandem axles, and a GVWR of 5,700 lbs from what I could find, so it sounds like you have number 10 Torflex axles with 2,300 to 4,000-lb capacities.
