Video Transcript for Review of Furrion RV Air Conditioners - Add-On Heat Strip - FR35SR

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Furrion Add-On Heat Strip for the Furrion Air Conditioners. Now this heat strip will let you bring the temperature in your RV up to a nice comfortable level. It's designed to work best in small spaces where the temperatures drop between 50 degrees Fahrenheit and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Now this part is not meant to replace the furnace in your RV. This is designed to work with air conditioner units that have manual distribution boxes only.

This add-on heat strip is for you Furrion Air Conditioner. Works with the part number FAC1411MA-W and the part number FAC1511MA-W. Both of those we do sell separately on our website. This part will include everything shown here on the table; does include the heat strip itself, the connecting harness, the mounting hardware for installing the heat strip, and a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how this installs. Now, also note this is not compatible with the multi-zone air conditioner systems.

Few specs on this. The length of this from one end to the other is 17 13/16 inches long. The width of it is 3 7/8 inches wide. Total height when it's installed is about 15/16 of an inch, just under an inch. Heating capacity on this is 1,500 watts.

Operating ambient temperature is 19 degrees Fahrenheit to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Voltage 115 volts, 60 hertz. The power cord right over here, the wire gauge on that is 14 gauge. And the total weight of this unit is only about 1 1/2 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this Furrion Add-On Heat Strip for the Furrion Air Conditioners..

Heat strip seems to work fine. Was pretty easy to install and I tested it. Have not used while camping yet, but think it will do the job in the small bedroom of my Jayco 27RB to keep a suitable temperature when cold camping.

Heat strip seems to work great. Keeps a decent temp in a small area. However the AC that I installed it in eventually lost a compressor. AC was still under warranty so dealer moved the heat strip over to the new AC they installed. I tested it and seems to work fine.

by:

this was a great ADD/On for our camper and the help from E-Trailer made the decision even easier the delay in receiving the item was frustrating. over all great

by:

Fast and friendly service. I was extremely impressed with the communications. Highly recommended. :)

by:

Great advice from your installers gave me confidence that I was buying the correct heat strip for my particular Furrion A/C.

Your shipment tracking is the best I have seen, complete with an overview map and little state maps to indicate current location.

I wish all online retailers put that much effort into customer satisfaction.

BTW, installation went well. One reviewer said that installation could all be done from below, which I did try. But what makes this difficult is that the mounting holes are not threaded, so the 4 screws must forcibly cut the thread in the metal holes on the evaporator unit, which is difficult to do from below. Even though it's a bit of a pain to install from above, it's best to go up on the roof of the RV and remove the A/C shroud.

by:

Looks good and no damage from shipping. Will see how well it does when installed.

Works fine and heats up the trailer quickly as supplemental heat. Its not made for being your main heat but it could if you are in a pinch overnight and ran out of propane

by:

Install was not as easy as other brands of RV air units. Directions were great and it was a clean install.

by:

As a mobile service outside of the big city it is somewhat difficult to find Reliable Parts suppliers for hard to find items. etrailer has always been a huge help and has been pivotal in my mobile service needs

by:

etrailer's customer service is unmatched and am now a repeat customer, thank you. Please not that this heat syrup for the Furrion A/C can be installed from inside the RV through the air intake return side as long as you have a short phillips head screw driver , the directions show how to do it from the topside and dona great job showing how to install, but is so much quicker from below.

by:

Shipment arrived on time and was well p ackaged

by:

Have not had good weather to install. I will send photos once I get them installed.

by:

Works great in our roof top a/c

  • Are Advent Air RV Air Conditioners Able To Be Installed On Enclosed Trailers
Advent Air has recently updated their warranty terms and will not support usage of their AC's unless they're installed on a camper or motorhome. You can still definitely use their systems, but you would be voiding the warranty and have to pay out of pocket for any issues or replacement parts. If you want to still go with them then you can get the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ACM150C and heat strip # ACMHD. If not, then I recommend going with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner...

We do have a direct replacement for your Coleman Mach 8 air conditioner that comes with an adapter that plugs right into your existing wiring. Yours is a 15,000 Btu unit and you can replace it with a Furrion AC, in either White or Black: - White: Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR42PV - Black: Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR32PV The only thing this doesn't come with is a heat strip, so if you'd like that as well...

If you have a Coleman setup now the Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR82PV that you referenced will easily fit and use same wiring regardless of the thermostat you have. The thermostat that you have is setup for a Coleman setup so that means it has the correct wiring for this Furrion setup. To add a heat strip you'd just need the part # FR35SR.

  • Options For Replacing Coleman Polar Mach RV Air Conditioner 49223A879
We do carry a replacement for your Coleman Polar-Mach air conditioner. From what I can find online, the 49223A879 is a 15,000 BTU unit. To replace it we recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner. This unit will come with a conversion kit, making it directly compatible with the existing Coleman system. So only the rooftop portion will be replaced, everything inside can stay as-is. The Furrion unit is available in white or black: - White: Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner...

  • Can Furrion Chill HE Air Conditioner Be Installed In Enclosed Trailer
Yes, you can install the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR92PR in your enclosed trailer. You can also add a heat strip # FR35SR for those cold winter dance nights. Installation of the AC does require good support to handle the weight of the unit and a roof thickness of 3-1/2" - 6". More than likely you will need to reinforce the roof of your trailer to meet these requirements. I have attached an installation video below for your reference.

The first step to installing any RV air conditioner systems on your cube van will be to reinforce the roof to hold the weight of the rooftop unit and to also increase the thickness of the roof to accommodate the rooftop unit and the air distribution box. The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip - 13,500 Btu # ACM135CH requires a roof thickness of 2-1/2" to 5" thick and the air distribution box is going to stick 2-1/2" down from the ceiling....

  • Can An Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System Be Used On A Food Truck
Technically you can install the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ACM150CH but you will void your manufacturer warranty since ASA will only honor warranties if the units are installed on a camper or motorhome. If you still want a warranty to cover the any manufacturer defects then I recommend going with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - White # FR92PR (black # FR32PR). • Correct Heat Strip For A Furrion Chill Air Conditioner 15,500 Btu
I spoke with Furrion, and they said that the problem lies in which parts were used. You bought the heater strip # C-FACR15SA-A02 our part # FR35SR, which are the heat strips for the manual air distribution box. While we have a similar option for you, the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip - 15,000 Btu # ACM150CH is not compatible with a ducted system because its air distribution box doesn't have registers that close to move the air through your ducts. Yep, a heat strip can be added to the dual Furrion HE air conditioner units with the manual distribution boxes; in fact the heat strip will only work with the manual distribution boxes so that's exactly what you need. You can get one or two heat strips depending on if you want one or both units to have heat, and the correct part for that is the Furrion Heat Strip Add-On for Furrion Air Conditioner - Manual # FR35SR.
