Installed this unit in about an hour. True plug and play!! I had to use different holes in the bracket inside, but fit perfect. The only challenge I had for being 63 years old is getting it on the roof and the old unit down. The John Deere with front end loader with forks and a pallet did the trick! Thanks to my wife who is always ready to dial 911!! Thanks to Alyssa J for your help with the purchase. Also, the Dometic distribution box and thermostat worked with the Furrion.

by:

The air conditioner was shipped very fast. Received the unit two days before the original shipment date. The serviceman installed the unit and it is working fine. Only thing the fed-ex ship in on the side of the box and placed the unit in my shed upside down because your shipping department didn’t tape the bottom of the box that can damage a air conditioner!! Time Will tell!! Thank you Kelly for everything!!! Eddie Paparo

by:

The unit function is stellar blows cold, my only complaint would be Furrion needs to design a better air distribution box.

by:

Thank you Arthur for helping with getting all of the necessary parts needed to replace my AC. The parts came quickly to my site and I'm good condition.

by:

We received the AC, installed and working very well. Bought 1 Furrion 2 weeks earlier, 2nd Furrion on Aug. 20th 2023 and with both units on my 2013 Palomino Columbus 5th wheel with the outside temp at 107 degrees today here in Kirvin TX, they are keeping the inside temp at 76 degrees with no trouble. I am very pleased with these two ACs. They are also much quieter then the old Dometic ACs they replaced.

by:

Excellent unit!! Cools the camper quick ly!!!

by:

If you’re not replacing a Furrion you will need the inside distribution panel. I had a Domedic and the inside panel does not fit. Very satisfied with the Furrion Chill HE.

by:

Package showed up earlier than expected. Packing was right and no damage from shipping. The extra box for wiring harness, metal brackets, and mounting bolts was complete. I haven't installed yet. This was just a review on proper packing, no damages, completeness of all components. Great job!

by:

Great experience from stay to finish. Got what we ordered and quickly.

  • Can You Replace A Dometic Rooftop AC Unit With A Furrion Unit
Yes, you can replace your Dometic rooftop AC unit (condenser unit) with a Furrion one and still be able to use your existing thermostat and wiring. You just may need an adapter # ACCOLKIT to go from the wiring harness on the Furrion unit to the controller for the Dometic system if it has a 9-pin connector (pictured below). I've attached a short video below showing you the wiring harness and adapter and how to use it. For a black shroud you can use part # FR76PR for the 13,500btu unit,...

  • Recommended Replacement For A Dometic Duo-Therm AC Unit Model # 80611342
Your Dometic model number 80611342 came back as a 13,500BTU unit so the only other information we'll need to know is the what style connector your unit has. Dometic units will either come with a 6-pin or 9-pin connector (pictured below). The units we currently offer only come with a 6-pin connector so you'll need an adapter if your current unit had a 9-pin. To find this you'll need to remove the cover of your air distribution box and find the wire harness that hangs down from the rooftop...

  • Recommended Plug-And-Play Replacement Roof Top AC Unit For A 2016 Grand Design Reflection
Before purchasing anything you'll want to first remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the controller and the wire harness that hangs down from the rooftop unit and plugs into the controller. It will either have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector (pictured below). You'll also want to verify the BTU rating of your current unit so that you aren't putting a lower rated unit in its place when you swap it out. For a 6-pin connection I have the following recommendations: 13,500...

  • Furrion Vs. Advent 13.5 BTU Air Conditioner For Cooling and Noise Level
The Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioner and Air Distribution Box w/ Built-in Thermostat part # FR76PR has a 60 db indoor sound level which can be compared to the sound of a normal conversation. The Furrion is actually about 10 db quieter than the Advent part # ACM135BCH based on our testing. However the Advent brings down the ambient temperature about 10 degrees lower compared to the Furrion. The Furrion does not have the option of a heat strip so I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner...

  • Recommended Replacement For A Coleman Mach Rooftop Unit Model # 48254C969
The BTU rating for your Coleman Mach AC 48254C969 is 15,000 so you wouldn't want a lower rated model like the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner # FR76PR. You would instead need a 15,000btu model that also comes with a 9-pin adapter to connect to your Coleman system's controller like the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup - 15,000 Btu - Black # FR32PV or # FR42PV for white.

  • Parts Needed to Replace Atwood RV AC Unit for Ducted Application
The best option to replace an Atwood RV AC unit with a Furrion unit is going to be with the part # FR76PR that you referenced and then the controller # FACC12ZA-BL for a multi zone controller since you have two units you want to replace (or part # FACC12SA-BL for if you only plan to replace one). Then for thermostats part # FACW12ZA-BL for a multi zone or part # FR33PR.

  • Can I Start a 14,500 BTU Furrion AC Unit with a 2500w Generator
The Furrion Chill 13,500 BTU # FR76PR draws more wattage/amperage (4000w) when starting compared to when running so you would need a generator with more wattage than a 2500w Champion generator or you would need to install a start capacitor/soft start like the SoftStartRV Soft Start for RV AC Units - Qty 1 # SSR54FR. Since you're already considering upgrading your generator you could go with a parallel generator kit like the 4,500-Watt Portable RV Generator # 333-0005, which would provide...

Hey Bradley, If you're just wanting to replace the rooftop units and keep your current air distribution boxes and thermostat then you'll just need to check the wiring to determine if you have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. If you remove the air distribution cover you should be able to look up and see the wire harness hanging down from the rooftop condenser unit and plugged into the controller. • Can The Furrion Replacement AC Unit Replace A Dometic Duo-Therm 630035.331
The replacement units that we carry, like the Furrion # FR76PR you were looking at, require that you have a controller right under the unit in the ceiling to plug into. Some times with systems like yours there isn't a controller available to plug into so I recommend removing the air distribution box cover under the unit you're wanting to replace and then checking for the controller and the style of the connector that the current unit has. You'll either have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. If...
