Convert a 6-pin connector on an Advent Air air conditioner (sold separately) to a 9-pin connector using this adapter wiring kit. Allows an Advent Air AC to work with your existing controller and air distribution box, such as a Coleman Mach setup.

Hey guys, Kevin with etrailer. And today I'm gonna be talking about the Advent Air RV AC wiring harness adapter. If you own a Coleman or a older model RV AC unit where it has a heat pump in it, you're gonna notice that your connector has a nine pin connection. A lot of the newer rooftop models really just don't come with that heat pump anymore. It's only gonna be a six pin model. So the way to replace our rooftop unit without having to replace our entire system our air distribution box, and our wall thermostat is to use one of these wiring harnesses, which will allow you to plug into that nine pin connector that's on your controller.
And then that six pin connector that's on the rooftop unit. If you look at your connector on your AC unit, you'll notice it has these rounded connection points with flat edges on it. And that's gonna match up perfectly with our connector so that you can only plug it in one specific way. Go ahead and pop that together. And then when you look at your nine pin it's gonna be square with a rounded top.
So we wanna make sure that we're placing it on our controller the exact same way. Otherwise it's not gonna connect. Now with switching from a six pin to a nine pin in our wiring harness, we are losing that ability to have a heat pump. But with our unit today, it doesn't have one anyway, so no real loss there. Well, I think that about does it for today's look at our Advent Air RV AC wiring harness adaptor.

5 star review for the adapter kit itself, seems to be high quality components. Ultimately it wasn't what I needed for my very old and worn labeled Coleman-Mach unit I replaced. Ended up doing new wiring from scratch. If this kit works for you, I highly recommend it.

Etrailer made it easy by listing the air-conditioners that would fit my rv. They also listed the parts that I would need in addition to the air-conditioner. Their videos helped me install it.
The air-contioner was easy to install. It works very well and is about the same noise level as the Coleman Mach 8 low profile that it replaced.
Kim was awesome to deal with on order, did her best to make sure I was getting only what I needed, very good experience, I was pleasantly surprised..

Would have given 5 stars, but will call wasn’t an option. Kinda sucks cause I work just up the street, would have been nice to pick up what I needed as opposed to waiting for shipping. That being said I have always been happy with the products I’ve received from Etrailer, and the adapter kit worked perfectly!
Right connecter, excellent fit
Delivery personnel dented the first delivery, apparently with fork lift as it deformed the a/ c unit in two different locations. Robert was right on top of the situation. Started the replacement before I even got the pictures sent to him. I’ve always received excellent service from Robert and etrailer. They will continue to get my patronage.

etrailer charged me [XX] dollars just to send back this item after I told them it was no longer needed and this product only cost [XX] dollars and I paid [XX] dollars to have it shipped to me. What a rip off. Half of the item was paid for in shipping fees alone. This is why I only order at Amazon if I can help it. Your return policy is garbage.
Almost a direct replacement for Coleman Mach. Easy to install hardest part was getting it in top of the rv.
People at etrailer are very helpful . One side note that could have made the order easier . Get familiar with different units and what is required to install in advance of shipping a product . Also installation pamphlet should be included without asking for it . Would have saved me 2 weeks of waiting and doing my own research
The AC was easy to install, affordable, and works great! I had to make a couple of modifications to the install instructions, but they were pretty straight forward. I will definitely use etrailer for my next rv purchase!

Doesn't work with Coleman Mach system. Ended up buying two trim packages with two new cheap stats. Note you have to run power wire to stats.

The part was so good I had to order another one for my second air condition I bought two new ACS and they forgot to tell me I need a pigtail I got it coming
