28ft Racing Trailer & Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Dual Zone - 15,000 Btu

Question:

Should I buy 1 15,000btu AC with heat strip or 2 13,500btu ACs for a 28ft enclosed aluminum racing trailer? I believe it has 30 amp service havent bought it yet and it will always be hooked up to shore power when in use. I also want a thermostat with it. My wife HAS to be cold at night! Thanks very much.

The need for one or two systems to achieve your desired temperature range is heavily dependent on the environment that are using the trailer. What latitudes will you be in during August? With your ending sentence and emphasis within statement I wouldn't chance it, buy a two unit system.

Take a look at the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Mutli Zone - 15,000 Btu - LED - White # FR67FJ. This AC system lets you independently adjust the temperature of two zones within your RV or camper. Compatible with ducted and ductless systems. Includes 2 ACs, 2 air distribution boxes, 2 multi zone controllers, and a multi zone wall thermostat. These however do not have a heat strip.

If a heat strip is a must, as opposed to a separate heating system when needed, I suggest two of the Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioner and Air Distribution Box w/ Built-in Thermostat - 15,500 Btu, # FAC1511MA-W. And then add on the Furrion Heat Strip Add-On for Furrion Air Conditioner, # FR35SR.
