Recommended Replacement For A Dometic Penguin AC Rooftop Unit

Question:

Our Duotherm in the living room controls the furnace and automatically swit hes from heat pump to furnace if temps too low. Do you have a replacement AC unit that would be compatible. Also how do your units compare power usage, sound and cooling power to the Penguin Ii units.

If your current thermostat is controlling your furnace then you can simply replace the rooftop unit of your Dometic Penguin system with the Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR42PV. This system comes with an adapter to plug directly into your Dometic system to make installation a breeze.

This unit has a start capacitor to help start the air conditioner faster which reduces the stress on the unit over time. It has dual fans to move air more efficiently than your Penguin and is compatible with ducted and ductless systems. The compressor has dampeners to reduce vibration which makes it one of the most quite units when running.

This unit does not have a heat pump so you would lose that function when removing the Penguin unit from your RV but there is an optional heat strip that can be installed to offer a similar heating option, # FR35SR.
