This kit pairs perfectly with the Ride-Rite bags on my 2012 F350. Installation was pretty simple. I mounted the pump in the driver side rear seat storage area and wired it to one of my Upfitter switches. There was plenty of air line and pigtail wire. I was using a bicycle pump on a shrader valve and this beats the crap out of that. I tow a trailer with 960 pound tongue weight, 2 kayaks on the tonneau cover and a long bed full of gear and this levels it out perfectly. I use this with a weight distribution hitch and still have minimal sway.

by:

Overall a solid product. I gave 4 out 5 mainly due to the challenges associated with the instruction manual and using Yo0uTube etrailer to install the air gauge. Had to get a few extra connectors since the terminal ends weren't large enough for my battery connection.

by:

Excellent service! I found my new shock shop! These guys keep you fully informed about all their products and the all the shipping details… thanks guys, keep up with the excellent customer service!

by:

Easy installation. Pump is surprisingly quiet. Installed under my rear seat by the battery compartment and can hardly hear it.

by:

My second purchase of the Firestone system. Easy installation with helpful instructions.

by:

These work great. So nice to fill up quickly on the go. Just as easy to deflate.

by:

I purchased a Firestone rear air spring kit. Ordering and delivery was quick and easy. Insulation was easy (had to grind the lower bracket). The compressor and springs work well.

Upgraded to new truck but I was very satisfied

by:

The compressor kit was fairly easy to install. Finding locations for the compressor and filter was the biggest challenge. I own a 14 Ram 3500. I had Schrader valves in the back bumper initially. It is so much more convenient being able to hit the toggle switch in the cab.
Thanks etrailer.

Great

Prices are competitive, Shipping was timely, packages arrived undamaged.

by:

Great product and with the instructions was provided was very easy to install .I would definitely recommended to anyone that’s looking into upgrading their truck stock suspention into an air ride

by:

Installed this kit on a 2015 Nissan Frontier. Biggest issue was finding a space for the compressor. Ended up mounting it behind the left headlight, on an aluminum plate that I mounted above the fender sheet metal. The kit itself is very complete and includes everything required for a clean installation.

I did 15 loads of firewood with that truck last year, and it was great to be able to inflate the airbags when loaded, and then reduce the pressure once the truck was unloaded.

by:

The team at etrailer took care of my order and I will be installing it soon THANK YOU SO MUCH

by:

I have a 2015 F150 eco boost 3.5l engine and pull a 28' travel trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Without the air suspension, the trailer is at the upper end of what the truck can handle in wind. The engine is fine, but the truck is light for a big trailer like that. The air suspension stabilizes the truck making for a nice stable pull. I recommend these for anyone pulling a trailer with a light truck.

I have nothing but great things to say about Etrailer.com! I ordered the Firestone rear helper bags along with the Level Command II for my 2012 Silverado 1500, selected ground shipping and the next day, I was notified that my shipping was upgraded at no charge! I installed it all in my garage in about 3 hours. The only hangup I had was the fuse tap but I got one from my local auto parts store for 6 bucks. I also installed a tee fitting off of the main airline to the bags and installed a manual fill valve inside my rear fender well for back up. I also did not have a tubing cutter but a sharp razor blade does just as well as long as you get your cuts square. I ordered this kit for towing my 29 foot travel trailer. My truck has the stock suspension other than a 2 inch drop shackle in the rear to level the truck out. I am running the minimum amount of pressure, which is 10psi, and the back end is a little stiff but not uncomfortable.

by:

Not a truck geek, but just an everyday driver. So I am not as in tune with the vehicle performance as those who run them hard on a regular basis.
It seems to me that the bags do the job. I can inflate/deflate them at will with onboard compressor. I originally put these on as I was installing a wedge camper on the truck and had stock suspension. I have since added a leaf which causes less air being needed on a daily basis.
I run about 10 lbs now unless adding a bunch of weight.
Happy enough especially since they are holding air.

by:

Works great 1 year later. So nice to just have air at the flip of a switch. Takes a quite a few seconds.... 30ish to fill bags up to 90 psi. Bigger compressor would helps some. Not much volume needed to fill bags and lines. But compressors are small. Everything is working as should 1 year later living the farm life.

by:

Haven't installed the air bags or compressor yet, but I had a set just like these on my previous truck and they worked very well so I know it is a good product. And all my dealings with etrailer have been great ! Knowledgeable people , great service, and speedy shipping.

by:

Product works great, use it most when pulling 36ft fifth wheel, gauge n controls mounted in cab of truck,. Adjustable when driving,..

Great, works as expected on a 2007 Dodge Megacab,,. Would buy again!!!

by:

Works great with the Firestone air bags. It's needed to adjust and level my travel trailer to prevent sway. Loses some air over several days but no biggy to adjust.

by:

A great easy to install, easy to use kit! Very convenient when you don't always have access to a air compressor and the weight of your load changes frequently. I have used it for a year with no complaints.

by:

Always a pleasure doing business with etrailer. Products are as described, hassle free payment, informed delivery process, and all around a worry free interaction. I have ordered multiple sets of air bags for myself, friends, and family never having a bit of problems using etrailer. Thanks again for another great experience.

by:

Love these air bags. Pull a 24 thousand pound 5th wheel. Aired up to 30 lbs. Does awesome. Great service from e trailers

by:

The unit I purchased works awesome, makes adjustments very easy and very quick. Easy install, the thing I didn't like is because of the air lines coming into the cab of the truck to the controller it is very noisy, but other than that all is good!

by:

I got it all installed and it wouldn't pump any air si I know fide the warranty people and they sent me a new one then I installed it and it didn't pump any air either so I went to harbor freight and bought a different kind of compresser now it works fine

by:

Works great just a little slow to air up might upgrade to bigger compressor and add an air tank in the future but works just fine for now

  • How To Replace the Air Filter On a Firestone Compressor System
In order to replace the air filter on the Firestone Air Command I Compressor System part # F2158 you will first want to un-thread the filter housing from the compressor. Once the filter housing is removed you can then pry the two sides open with a flat-head screwdriver or pick tool. Once the two sides of the filter housing are separated you can simply remove the old and then replace it with a new filter. The filter housing will snap back together and you can thread it back on the compressor.

  • Troubleshooting Older Firestone Air Compressor Having Trouble Pressurizing Air Lines
The best way to determine what is going on is to disconnect the air line directly at the air compressor and then see if it is blowing out air when you turn it on. If it isn't blowing air or if it is struggling to maintain air pressure then that means the compressor is shot or there is a air escaping elsewhere on the compressor. Either way the best solution is to get a new air compressor. If it is blowing air and isn't struggling to maintain pressure then you have something going on with...

  • Is Angle Iron Required for Mounting Firestone Compressor Kit to Vehicle
There's really no reason you couldn't do that as long as you have an area that will work on your frame. Using the angle iron allows you a bit more flexibility to mount the compressor as you can basically tailor the dimensions of it to match the trailer frame.

  • Is a Water Trap Needed for Air Bag System
Usually a water trap is not needed for an air bag system. In fact, my Firestone contact told me they never recommend them! One exception might be heavy continuous use in a humid climate, such as a work truck used daily in Florida or Louisiana with pressure changes being made all day long every day. In that case a water trap might be a good idea. But for a vehicle occasionally towing the same RV on a recreational basis the air bags will not be likely to accumulate enough water to worry about.

  • Troubleshooting the Gauge Light on the Firestone Air Command Remaining on with the Ignition Off
I reached out to the manufacturer about your question regarding the light on the Firestone Air Command I - Analog Gauge # F2158 always remaining on. The manufacturer informed me that the light is tied into a circuit that is not an ignition activated circuit. They stated that if you wanted the light to toggle on and off with the ignition you would just need to find a wire that is toggled on and off with the ignition.

  • Can Firestone Sport-Rite be Installed with an Air Compressor
The Firestone air bags can be operated with an air compressor. The compressor system I suggest is the Air Command I # F2158. The compressor installs underneath your truck with a gauge and switch mounted in the your truck's cab. This way you can monitor and control the air pressure without having to get out of the truck.

  • Can Air Gauge and Switch For Firestone Air Command I Be Installed In Vehicle Dash
The air gauge and switch that is included with the Firestone Air Command 1 # F2158 can be removed from the plastic mounting bracket and mounted in your vehicle's dash. Keep in mind that the hose that is included between the switch and gauge may have to be changed if you do not want to mount the switch and gauge close together in your dash. Firestone suggest that when changing and installing a new hose, be sure to check to make sure you do not have any air leaks.

  • Can Firestone Compressor Kit be Added to Vehicle with Air Bag Suspension Enhancement
Yes, our compressor kits like the Firestone kit part # F2158 that you referenced are designed for exactly what you described. • Recommended Compressor System for Firestone Air Bags on a 2007 Toyota Tacoma
The light duty Firestone compressor 2538 will work to adjust air pressure in the air bags for your 2007 Toyota Tacoma. I recommend going with the standard duty system, # F2158 for better functionality and longevity.

The Firestone Air Command I - Analog Gauge w/ Standard-Duty Compressor - Single Function - 130 psi # F2158 you referenced can be used to adjust air in anything you want to connect it to. It utilizes a 1/4 inch tube and fittings so if that is what your OEM system utilizes then you would be all set. If not you would simply need to get the adapter fittings compatible but the compressor will work. I am not familiar with any OEM Ford Air Bag Suspension so I can't confirm the fittings.

  • Firestone Air Command Does Not Release Air Pressure or Increase Air Pressure
I spoke with my contact about the problem you are having and he immediately knew what the issue probably is. He stated that most likely you have the air tubes at the back of the gauge switched so they are in the wrong places. That would account for the problems you are having.
