Video Transcript for Review of Air Lift Air Suspension Compressor Kit - Gauge Panel and Switch - AL26161

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Airlift Single Needle Gauge Panel with the paddle switch. Now, this gauge is designed to give the driver control of inflating or deflating the front or rear air springs on your vehicle. This one here is mounted in a nice, black, textured metal mounting bracket. You can see the gauge installed right here and right next to it is the paddle valve that allows you to inflate or deflate. You can see the very back, where you make your connections with your air line.

The gauge itself goes from zero to 200 PSI. And just to give you a few measurements on this. If we measure the very top, which is the widest point, it's gonna be right at about five and three eighths inches. And then the overall height, top to bottom, is about two and three quarter inches. But that should do it for the review on this Airlift Single Needle Gauge Panel with the paddle switch..

Great product, shipped fast and received it 2 days earlier then expected. Fits perfect for my application on a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 down by the shifter.

Paddle switch didn’t come with the wires to hook it up,I didn’t realize I needed a relay with this product to make it work.I received no installation instructions for this product, very disappointed with this product.

by:

When I received my product the hose was all bent up an had a little hole in it but I had some extra hose laying around so it wasn’t a big deal. The mounting plate was a little bent but still useable I installed it yesterday an found it had a slow leak but I think it might be the hose I put on to replace the old hose so I’m gunna change it an see if that’s the problem but overall it does what it’s supposed to

After completing literally hundreds upon hundreds of those installation, weve learned that unless those cuts on the tubing are made perfectly square, that tubing will leak every time.

The air lift single needle gauge panel with one panel switch worked great for my application. It functions reliably when I need it to operate the air system on my 2500 HD to handle the extra weight with my bigger loads

by:

After one year, this is still working perfectly and no leaks. I freuently keep 100 psi in my system and the gauge is right on. My only complaint is that when letting air out, it's a little loud in the cab. A small muffler system tucked under the dash would be a nice option.

Just what I ordered, Air Lift is a great product. etrailer is easy to work with and they have a lot to choose from. Fast delivery and they check to see if you got the right parts. I would purchase from them again!!!

by:

The product is exactly as pictured and works great for my airbag installation.

by:

by:

  • Will the Air Lift Gauge and Panel Switch Help Do Away With an Automatic Leveling System
The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge and Panel Switch, # AL26161, is designed to give the driver control of inflating or deflating front or rear air springs. The panel switch will allow you to control the amount of air to a set of air helper springs and bypass the automatic leveling on your vehicle.

  • Recommended Rocker Switch for Air Springs on 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5
For your 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5, it sounds like you simply need the Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch # AL26161 if you want a gauge or the Replacement Switch for Firestone Electric Control Panel # F9039 for the switch. If you just want the pneumatic switch, you can use the Replacement Switch for Firestone Pneumatic Control Panel # F9074. On each switch the increase in pressure is on the top and the purge is on the bottom.

  • How Does the Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch Deflate the Air Bags
The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch part # AL26161 will allow you to both inflate and deflate the air bags. There is a small hole on the unit which allows air to escape when the valve is opened. The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch does not recirculate the air back into the tank if that is what you are asking. I have attached a diagram for you which should help you better understand. The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle...

  • Wiring Schematic of AirLift Heavy Duty Compressor System Gauge
The gauge used with the heavy duty Air Lift compressor system, # AL25854, has 4 wires because the switch is built into the gauge. The black wire is the ground, white is the signal to the compressor, red and green are ignition power wires. I have included a picture showing a wiring schematic for you. On the standard duty switch you just have compressor signal wires to indicate additional air pressure (the upper switch terminal) and lower pressure (lower switch terminal).

  • Gauge and Switch Kit Recommendation for Firestone Compressor Found on 2007 Dodge Ram
Easiest kit you'd need is the In-Cab Air Pressure Monitoring Gauge # AL26161 which you would wire to the compressor you have found's wiring and would tap into the current tubing to monitor the air line. To tap into the air lines you'd then want the part # AL22007.

  • How To Route Air Line for Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch
The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch part # AL26161 simply put is a manual pneumatic switch. It has a single exhaust and intake port for inflation and deflation. I have attached a photo below which should help with routing the air lines. In regards to the electrical connections, you can disregard these as they are not required for the switch to operate.

  • Recommended Air Pressure Adjustment Gauge for Air Bags and Current Compressor
With your current compressor you would need the Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch # AL26161. This will allow you to add air and remove air from your air bags. The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch part # AL26161 can be used if you only want to use one valve to control both air bags. • Recommended Air Springs Air Compressor System with 100 PSI Gauge
For your Air Bags on your truck, I recommend the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Single Path # AL25592. This will give you a single gauge that will read up to 100 psi as requested and fill your air bags equally side to side. This system will allow you to adjust the level of your air springs at any time from the comfort of your cab. I've attached a video of this installation to assist.

  • Air Compressor Will Not Inflate Or Deflate Air Bags After Installing Gauge With Paddle Switch
The electrical connections for Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch # AL26161 are irrelevant to the gauge as far as function goes; the electrical connections are just for the display of the gauge itself. The air lines are the only things that the gauge needs to function in terms of inflating or deflating the air bags. I attached a photo that you can look at to make sure you have the air lines connected to the proper fittings. If you are still having issues then it...

  • Availability of Schematics for the Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel # AL26161
The Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel # AL26161 that you referenced is a fairly simple piece of equipment that doesn't really have a schematic. I spoke with my contact at Air Lift who confirmed that the closest thing to a schematic is highlighted in the instructions for the (discontinued) Air Lift QuickShot Compressor System AL25690. In these instructions it simply shows where to connect the lines for the air compressor (or tank) and air bags (or springs). I have attached a picture...

  • Does Air Lift Gauge Kit AL26161 Have Back Light
Hey Shawn, yes the Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel part # AL26161 does have a light built into it. The spade connectors on the back of the gauge you'd run to the running light circuit which will light up when headlights are on.

  • Installation and Operation of Air Lift Single Needle Gauge with Switch Between Tank and Air Springs
If you are keeping the tank at 175 lbs, then the Air Lift Single Needle Gauge Panel with One Paddle Switch # AL26161 would be run after the tank to give you the adjustment to the air springs. The electrical connection is only for the light on the gauge as you stated, and the exhaust does not have a separate location. It will simply dump air at the switch in your cab and unfortunately there is not a way to reroute that according to my tech contact at Air Lift.
