Arrived sooner than expected. A very sturdy hitch with pin. I especially appreciate having the rounded edges where we frequently walk at the back of the SUV. 4" drop is correct to match my truck and trailer hitch height on my Subaru Ascent.

I am very satisfied with my products.

The forged ball and drop hitch works flawlessly on my motor home. I tow a 24 ft box trailer with show bikes. I trust Curt and ordering from etrailer is always made easy by knowledgeable sales persons....shipped out promptly each and every time.

A fantastic product. Constructed as it should be.

by:

Perfect, just what I want for heavy duty. Fast delivery at a very good price.
having the ball installed from etrailer is the way to go. Need to pack the box with some stuffing so the weight doesn't move around in shipping.

by:

Fits a little loose in my reciever so when I don't have a trailer on it it tends to rattle and thunk a bit but nothing too obnoxious. The chrome didn't last long where the trailer tongue rides. The heaviest I've had on it is a 3500lb trailer with about 3800lbs worth of tractor on it loaded fairly tongue heavy because of the big brush hog on the tractor. All in all, i can't complain too much though at this price point.

by:

One of the best internet companies that I have ordered from and I have ordered a lot over the years. Kim was excellent help with my order. I elected for free ship and my order was packed and shipped out on Sat. And
received on Wed.
Pricing was about half of what my local trailer retailer ask.
Bottom line, order from these people and you will not be disappointed.
The Curt controller was very easy to install and adjust and works perfectly. The ball mount is massive, no worries about breaking this monster ! Very pleased with every aspect of this purchase.

by:

I needed a 4" drop hitch to replace my existing straight hitch ball for my new pickup. The new truck sits much higher than my old one did and I couldn't quite get the trailer high enough. This is a brute of a hitch and appears very well made. I think it was a very goo purchase for the price Etrailer sells it for. I don't expect to have any troubles from the ball forward. Watch out trailers; Here we come!

by:

Product arrived earlier than expected and it fit perfectly on my vehicle. I had conducted extensive research for an equivalent product and this was the best value for the price. I don't anticipate having any problems towing my trailer with this hitch. I put a locking pin on the hitch to discourage potential theft.

by:

I would give this 5 stars except the fact that the ball was not tight. When I ordered this I assumed it was ready to use. When I looked at it after I received it I noticed the lock washer was not all the way compressed. I backed the nut off and it was hardly tight at all. When I ordered this I also ordered a ball mount with a 6" drop and the same 2-5/16" ball with 1-1/4" shaft. That ball had a tag which said the ball should be torqued to 450 ft-lbs. This one was no where near 450 ft-lbs, it might have been about 50 ft-lbs at the most.
Someone that did not look at this might have an issue down the road if they didn't tighten the nut. Looks to be a quality control issue.

Very strong heavy duty

by:

Needed a 3" rise ball mount/ ball to haul 14,000#. Heavy duty forged ball mount - 17,000#, 2 5/16" heavy duty ball- 15,000#. Curt made the right product as a package including the pin. Etrailer was priced right with excellent customer service, received in 2 days. Highly recommend this Curt package even if your load is less because it is only a few bucks more than the hollow tube 10,000# ball mounts.

by:

The two products arrived on-time and in excellent condition. Both the trailer rim and CURT ball mount are of high quality and exactly what is needed to solve my two different issues. I found the selection of the ball mounts to be excellent relative to the selection of the big chain stores. I will definitely order from etrailer.com again.

by:

The ball mount is heavy duty and its solid steel right out of the box. Great product at the best possible price. Exactly what I was looking for towing my dump trailer. I highly recommend this ball mount.

by:

Very heavy duty, this is built with a solid shaft rather than tubing. Fits my receiver well. Probably the strongest ball mount I have seen.
Highly recommended, if you need maximum strength, but it is heavy, probably 2-3 times as much steel as in other ball mounts.

by:

Excellent heavy duty receiver hitch, one that is strong enough to be used with a 1 ton truck.

by:

very dependable solid shank/ safe for all my trailers. would definite recommend to a friend. and again thanks etrailer

by:

will try hitch next mouth. Disappointed that the 9inc snap pads where back ordered. Will, said he would let me know when they would be back in stock. Thank You.

by:

As always fair pricing in stock products fast shipping who can ask for more

by:

IT was seamless. Placed the order. Received the hardware. The quality was outstanding and the service was flawless.
Thanks for being a great provider.

by:

Got the 15,000 lb ball mount and 2 5/16" ball delivered a day early. The product is built and finished well and exactly what I needed for a super great price. Thanks!

by:

by:

The quality of craftsmanship is great. I actually used it first time last week pulling a trailer from Texas to Arizona. A very good product.

by:

Wrong items were shipped and I am still not sure they got it right this time.

by:

Great price and fast processing and shipping. This forged ball/mount is well constructed and heavy (heavier than I thought) -- but is what I needed.

  • 4 Inch Drop Ball Mount Recommendation for Ford F-150
Thanks for the dimensions you listed! You are going to need a ball mount with a drop of right at 4 inches. To accommodate for suspension sag you might go with a little bit less of a drop but 4 inches really would work well still. The Curt ball mount part # C45332 has a 4 inch drop and has a 15k capacity, plus comes with a hitch ball so it would be a great choice.

  • Recommendations for a Ball Mount with 4 Inch Drop with a 2 Inch Ball Already Installed
We can't swap out balls that are in a kit but we do have an option for a 2 inch ball mount with a 4 inch drop that comes with a 2 inch ball. It is # C45056 for a Curt rated for 7,500 pounds. Or you could get the ball mount by itself, # C45341, and add a 2 inch ball # A-90.

  • Can Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount # C45332 be Ordered in Rise Position
The only wat we get the Curt ball mount # C45332 is with the ball in the drop position. We do not mount the ball in-house. You can pretty easily remove the ball once you get it and install it in the rise position.

  • Will Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Fit 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
I have a replacement option for you, but Reese Trailer Hitch Receiver from a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 will not fit on a 2004 Chevrolet 2500HD due to the differences in the rear frame. Instead I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV # 14211 which is confirmed to fit a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with either the 6-1/2' bed or 8' bed, and also has a maximum tongue weight rating of 1000lbs and a maximum trailer weight rating of 10000lbs. Using a weight distribution...

  • Is the 2-5/16 Hitch Ball Already Torqued on the Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount
Yes, the Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount # C45332 comes from Curt with the 2-5/16" hitch ball already torqued to specs. As the customer stated in their review, it must have slipped through their quality control. When we receive them and ship them out they remain in a plastic bag (which we do put in a box) so if it were loose we wouldn't know.

  • Complete Wiring And Hitch For A 2020 Cadillac XT4
I went ahead and checked out the: -Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76266, and was able to find a hitch height of 18". Additionally, if you need help finding the correct rise/drop for your application, I'd be happy to assist. All you're going to need to do is measure the distance from the ground to the top of the receiver, then from the ground the bottom of the trailer coupler, and subtract the two measurements. The difference is the rise/drop you need. For instance, if...

  • Availability of 2-5/8 Inch Hitch Ball
I believe what you are needing for your older military trailer is a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball like the Draw-Tite # 63840. Based on my research it looks like some people refer to this size as a 2-5/8 inch unit, but there is no such thing as an actual 2-5/8 inch hitch ball. Now that you know what diameter ball you need, you will just want to make sure that it's shank is the correct size for the hole on your ball mount (if you have one already). The Draw-Tite hitch ball mentioned above features...

  • How To Determine The Correct Ball Mount For Towing 8000lb Dump Trailer With Ram 1500
I would be happy to recommend a ball mount for your Ram 1500 4WD with air bags installed, but the correct ball mount is really going to come down to how much of a rise/drop you need to tow your trailer level. To determine the rise/drop you need you will need to measure your trailer hitch height and trailer coupler height following the included help article. Once you know the rise/drop you need you can make sure you get a ball mount that will work perfectly for your setup. For example...

  • Can Curt Ball Mount with Mounted Hitch Ball be Used in Rise Position
Hey Fred, yes you could remove the ball of the Curt ball mount part # C43JR, flip the ball mount over, and then reinstall the ball to use it as a rise ball mount instead. For basically the exact same thing but for a 2 inch hitch you would want the Curt ball mount part # C45332.

  • High Capacity Ball Mount Recommendation with 4 inches of Drop
We have the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 40331 which is similar in that it has a 4 inch drop, has a 16k capacity but is 9-1/4 inches long which makes it about an inch longer. For hitch ball you'd then want the Curt part # C40085 and you'd be set.
