Very happy with etrailer. good prices, quick delivery. And this hitch is fabulous, super easy install and it is very heavy duty. Already placed another order with etrailer.

by:

The hitch was reasonably priced, shipped quickly and the product installed without any surprises. I have used it many times throughout the past year with no issues. The quality of the hitch was excellent. I would recommend etrailer to anyone looking for a new hitch

This was probably the easiest install of anything I have added to this truck and everything fit perfect done in 15 minutes by myself! longest time was getting the spare tire out of the way. This truck normally pulls a gooseneck which was a more difficult install but still not too bad. Need to pull a car trailer and this works perfectly. I am very happy with the fit, finish, and weld quality of this receiver hitch

by:
2006 Ford F-250-and-F-350-Super-Duty

The Hitch was what I was looking for to fit under the Ranch Hand Bumper. If you are installing this on a truck that has a Ranch Hand Bumper, you will also need to order the BROPHY (code: BM20), Ball Mount, 13 1/4" long, to get the ball out from under the bumper.

I did have a few issues installing the Hitch, I believe that the hitch was damaged during shipping. The shipping packaging was damaged and UPS stated that it would not stay in the box during his route. The issues was that the left two blot holes would not line-up for the bolts. With the help of a five foot pipe was able to line it up.

Over all, I'm happy with the hitch.

1999 Ford F-150 and F-250 Light Duty

This hitch is a wonderful addition to our truck. The hitch bolts straight on the truck an having a 1999 f150 flareside (which is hard to find exact parts for) easy. First I bought a hitch from ebay and when I got it it did not fit.Bolt pattern on flaresides are differant then other f150's.

by:

I ordered this hitch to replace mine which had started to rust through and I was concerned it would fail. The other reviews on this hitch indicated it would fit perfectly on my 2004 F250. They were correct, not a single issue! I installed it by myself but it would be much easier with a second set of hands. I don’t have anything to tow yet but I’ll be ready when the time comes.

No issues with the trailer hitch. I’ve towed a trailer and a wood splitter so far.

by:
2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Got this to replace the rusted out hitch on my 05 f250. Wicked good quality, and a class size up from the factory hitch. Had to remove the spare tire heat shield for the holes to line up on the passenger frame rail, off by about 1/2". No big deal, as I don't keep the tire under there. Many happy towing miles ahead.

by:

Tight fit and easy to install. (HINT: get someone to help lift into place or set it on a storage tub and slide it under the frame. Also lower and remove the spare tire). Takes 6 bolts and done!

by:
2002 Ford F-150

E trailer was the only place I could find a class IV hitch for a fair price.ford rates the truck at 8500 lbs. tow capacity but it had a class III 6k on it. I removed the 6k and installed the curt 10k so I can use the available capacity of 8.5k.
All parts came and was well packaged and an easy straight forward DIY install.
Kudos to etrailer for prompt dependable and accurate service as always.thanks for offering the 10k hitch also.

This was a perfect transaction. I shopped around a lot, and etrailer's price was as good as you're likely to find. The hitch is exactly as described, all hardware was included and the installation instructions are clear, complete and easy to follow. Shipping was amazingly fast. You could buy this exact same product elsewhere -- but why would ya?

Great customer service and prices. Ordered a hitch that was back ordered. Adam called me several times to let me know the status and offered me options. The hitch came a day earlier than promised. Perfect fit for my 2003 F150 morning extended cab. Didn’t have to take the spare tire down. The whole mounting process took less than 30 min. Solid hitch with good welds.

Very well built hitch, very easy to install only took my son and I 10 minutes to bolt in place . shipping was free and very fast only about 4 business days. 1997 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Install is a snap.
Had it installed
in less than 30 minutes.
Took more time to get my tools out and drop the spare tire out of the way.
No drilling. It used existing holes in the frame in my 1997 F150 XLT 2wd.
Drop the spare tire out of your way.
The rest is simple.
I put loktite on the bolts to keep them from vibrating loose.

I have used it to tow a small 4x8 trailer with a large ice chest and 4 wheeler over 1500 miles from VA to MN and back.
Pulled my 2800 lb equipment trailer with my tractor and assorted implements (about 5k total weight) around my local area.
No issues so far.

I do have bigger than stock tires 265/70r16 and I still just have enough room for the spare without it hitting anything.

The only thing I wish it had, would be a place to mount the trailer plug bracket to maybe 4-6” off centered of the receiver tube).
There are tabs that stick out on each side of the receiver tube. But they are just above where the safety chains go, and I felt like it wasn’t a suitable spot.
You can drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the hitch, but on standard 2wd’s this hangs kind of low. I like keeping my plug higher, to prevent it from getting banged up. So I fabricated a bracket and installed the plug behind the license plate.
A person could make a bracket that mounts to the bottom of the receiver and put the plug bracket above it. I felt like it wasn’t a clean look.

But overall the receiver easily mounts to the frame and sets cleanly under the rear stock bumper.

I did install this by myself. But if you have a buddy to help hold it in place, it may make it a little quicker and easier.

1997 Ford F-150

Recently, I purchased several items from etrailer.com and was completely surprised at how easy the entire process was from selecting the correct parts for my 1997 Ford F150, to delivery and installation. Here's a quick rundown of the items I purchased:
C14355 - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2"
3035-P - Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers;
90885 - Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional;
118242 - Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way;
18138 - Mounting Bracket for 7-Way.
Every item was received in perfect order, was easy to install, and looks great! Thanks etrailer.com!

by:

I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase experience and product quality. The receiver was delivered promptly and fit so well I had it installed without assistance in less than 45 minutes. I have flagged etrailer in my "favorites" for my future needs for anything trailer related.

This is a great product, reasonably priced. I used it on a project to help upgrade my flat bottom boat to a bass boat. Helped out trying to move it around!

by:

Someone had welding some exhaust brackets to the frame that were in the way of attaching the hitch. You should never weld to the frame. Regardless after I got the bracket cut off and ground down the hitch went on bolted up like it was suppose to. The instructions recommended removing the spare tire for the assembly but managed to get it installed with the spare tire in place.

I would recommend trying the bolts in the bolt holes before getting the hitch in position. I found that mine were a little rusty and had to be cleaned up before the bolts would start correctly. That part is much easier to do without the hitch in the way. Luckily I had a tap the correct size and cleaned up all of the threads without the hitch in my way.

by:

Order was perfect SHIPPING GETS A FAT ZERO. Receiver can in a box with no shipping wrapping and was scratched all to hell..Very disappointing…

by:

Two days after this arrived, another driver hit me and slightly bent the frame, at the rear of the truck! I was able to put a hydraulic ram on the frame to straighten it, and the mount the hitch receiver to the frame, which helped keep it in place (Farm truck now). Worked great!

by:

Good day, received hitch 4 days early from date given. Installed it on my truck Friday in about 45 minutes. My 9 year old grandson help me install the hitch. Thank you for a great product.

Installation was straight forward and easy to install. Using the hitch to pull my 16 flatbed trailer. No issue when pulling the trailer empty or fully loaded. You supplied a great product.

by:
2002 Ford F-150

The hitch went on TERRIFICALLY on my 2002 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. I did have a little bit of trouble aligning one of the bolts (the one furthest to the front on the passenger side to be exact), in which was most likely due to a solid rear-end collision I experienced in the past, but it was nothing some help from a rubber mallet couldn't solve.

As far as quality, the hitch felt completely solid and rigid, as it should obviously. The coating that is proudly advertised provided a clean, black and polished look that was applied evenly across the entire piece. Even with the issue of the previously mentioned bolt, the hitch remained completely centered and concealed once all of the bolts were tightened and torqued.

For quality and fair pricing, I'd say this was probably the greatest purchase one could make for a class IV trailer hitch receiver.
