Great service. Easy to work with, perfect fit fit. Looking forward to towing my aluminum boat!

This has worked amazingly! I take my mountain bike all over, and it has held strong!

I am always skeptical of products that are ‘easy to install’. I purchased this directly to save about 1/3 the cost of having a local [rental trailer] business install the same unit for me. It took 90-120 minutes to install, including tool collection, set-up and clean-up. I used a tapered bit instead of a grinding tool to widen the openings in the car’s frame. This seemed easier than using a grinding tool. The bit required a plug-in drill, as my cordless didn’t spin fast enough to make the bit work properly. The biggest challenge was having space for the torque wrench to access and tighten the bolts on the exhaust side of the vehicle. Overall, great product and great installation videos. I will buy another to install myself again when I have the need.

2012 Ford Fusion

The Trailer Hitch for my 2012 Fusion arrived quickly. It was installed a few days later
Installation was simple and was completed in less than an hour. It fit like a glove.
Instructions were clear and the paint job was excellent .

Thank you

Have not installed the trailer hitch or wiring harness, but I am impressed with how fast I received it. Was delivered in 2 days which was extremely helpful do to the fact that I needed it done by next week for a trip. Thank you for the fast service, You came thru when no one local had a hitch in stock or was told it would take a few weeks to get one. Awesome service. Thanks.

by:

Quality product. Fast shipping. Reasonable price... Installation instructions reveal a tough job of dropping the exhaust and hole modification requirement. Bottom line; hitch is what I needed but I am taking it to a local shop for installation.

2010 Ford Fusion

Fantastic product. Great fit and finish. Had some issues elongating the front holes. We ended up using a skill saw and slotted the hole. We bent the metal down and pushed it back when the washer was installed. The hardware was perfect and that wire tool for the bolts was ingenious. Thanks guys

  • Is Curt Trailer Hitch C11390 For 2012 Ford Fusion Limited To Class I Accessories?
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11390 you were looking at for your 2012 Ford Fusion does have a welded tab limiting you to Class I compatible accessories, so you will need to double check that the accessories you purchase are compatible with Class I hitches. This is done to make sure the accessories you use will not allow you to overload the hitch. If you are planning on doing some light duty towing with your Fusion you will need a vehicle wiring harness # 118422, drawbar # C45521,...

  • Hitch Receiver For A 2011 Ford Focus
The 1-1/4" Class I trailer hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11390 will be the only size available on a 2011 Ford Fusion. The 2" receiver is typically used in higher capacity hitches. A reducer will not really address the true concern which is vehicle capacity. The 2011 Ford Fusion likely does not have enough capacity to carry a power wheelchair carrier on a hitch at the rear of the vehicle. A better option would be to pull the carrier behind your car on a small trailer...

  • Installation of a Trailer Hitch Receiver In Two Separate Days or Sessions
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11390 you asked this question from is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Ford Fusion. It absolutely is possible to spread an installation out over two days, but you will want to be careful of a couple of things. Once you have the bolts installed into the frame, you will want to make sure that they can't vibrate loose from their location. This may mean using additional washers to ensure the flange lock nut doesn't have the...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for 2012 Ford Fusion
We actually don't have any trunk racks that fit your vehicle. Would you consider a hitch mounted solution? It would be a much safer way to carry the bikes that would not contact the vehicle paint in any way.

  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch Fit a 2012 Ford Fusion with Dual Exhaust
Yes, you can install Curt trailer hitch # C11390 on your 2012 Ford Fusion with dual exhaust. The hitch, like the exhaust configuration on your Fusion, is symmetrical and the hitch will fit above the exhaust on both sides just like in the video I have linked on a single exhaust model. If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited...

  • What Strap is Recommended to Carry Non-Supported Load with Curt Trailer Hitch
Curt requires the use of their stabilizer strap part # 18050 when using their hitch # C11390 to carry a non-supported load like a bike rack. I attached a review video for you to check for the strap as well. Also attached an install video for the trailer hitch too.

  • Thule Bike Racks Compatible With Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver On a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11390 and Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24865 for your 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid will allow for a Thule class I compatible bike racks. I recommend the Draw-Tite over the Curt as you are required to use the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories # 18050 with the Curt receiver. The Thule Helium Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH44VR and Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack # TH9045 are two of Thule's bike racks that are compatible...

  • Comparing CURT Trailer Hitch and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for a 2011 Ford Fusion
A 7/16 inch bolt and a 1/2 inch bolt will both have a much higher capacity than the hitch or vehicle frame rails. Since both installation instructions for CURT, # 11390, and Draw-Tite, # 24865, require fishwiring hardware through the frame rails, the slightly smaller Draw-Tite 7/16 inch bolts will be easier to fishwire into place. The other major difference is the CURT hitch does require the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, for any non-trailer load such as a bike rack or cargo carrier...

  • Can Exhaust Interfere with Trailer Hitch Installs
For some hitch installs it is required to modify how the exhaust hangs so that it doesn't interfere with the hitch. Either so that the two can be installed together or so that the exhaust doesn't rattle against the hitch. I attached a couple help articles that cover how this would be addressed. Most likely you wouldn't have to make these modifications.

  • Trailer Hitch and Ball Mount Recommendations for a 2010 Ford Fusion
Rise or drop is not measured to the top of the ball but instead to the top of the platform on the ball mount that holds the ball. So that is going to change things a little. I have included a link to a help article that explains how to measure for rise/drop to tow a trailer level. For a hitch I recommend going with Curt hitch # C11390 for your 2010 Ford Fusion. You mentioned that some Class I hitches have a tab in them meaning some Class II accessories will not fit. This hitch does not...

  • Is There A Class II Trailer Hitch Available For A 2010 Ford Fusion
The vendors we carry for trailer hitches unfortunately only offer class 1 trailer hitches for your 2010 Ford Fusion. Of the two options available I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24865 since the installation process is a bit easier than the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11390. This hitch has a 2,000lb GTW capacity and 200lb TW capacity. If you were planning on towing a smaller trailer or want to add lights to a cargo carrier or bike rack for better visibility...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And Towing Accessories For 2012 Ford Fusion SE
Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24865. This hitch is 5-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper to the center of the itch pin hole. The Curt Hitch # C11390 has a measurement from the outermost bumper of 5 inches to the center of the hitch pin hole. For your ball mount, I recommend the Curt Class II Drawbar - 2-5/8" Rise, 3-1/4" Drop - 7-1/4" Long - 3,500 lbs # C45521 along with a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball like # A-80 or a 2 inch ball...

  • Recommended Hitch for 2012 Ford Fusion SEL
I have a solution for you, but the Curt # C13902 is not compatible with your 2012 Ford Fusion SEL. Instead, I recommend using the Curt # C11390 which is a confirmed fit on your 2012 Fusion SEL. This hitch has a concealed cross-tube design that will allow you to maintain the factory look on your vehicle and it has a 1-1/4" Class I receiver. If you're going to be using this hitch for towing a small, light weight trailer, you'll also need a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. For the...

  • Recommended Hitches for a 2011 Ford Fusion or 2015 Honda Civic Sedan
We do have solutions for both of these vehicles that are going to be custom fit and won't require any drilling. For your 2011 Ford Fusion I recommend using the Curt # C11390 and for your 2015 Honda Civic you'll want to use the Curt # C11391; Curt hitches generally have a much thicker powder coating on them, so they're going to stand up to the rigors of the road a little bit better and won't be as likely to get nicks in the coating that might lead to corrosion issues. These are both custom...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2011 Ford Fusion to Carry Cargo Carrier/Bike Rack

  • Can Class I Hitch Carry Power Lift Chair and Carrier
A class I and II hitch both use the same 1-1/4 inch receiver, but the Class I hitch tongue weight capacity (which is the maximum amount of weight that can safely be suspended from the hitch) is limited to 200 lbs, which includes the weight of the chair and the carrier you're using. No adapter would increase that capacity. If your carrier and the chair's combined weight is less than 200 lbs, you could use a Class I hitch like the Curt # C11390 to carry it, assuming the carrier is compatible...

  • Does Curt Stabilization Strap Requirement Indicate Difference in Hitch Quality
Curt's USA-made hitches like # C11390 that have the support strap # 18050 requirement for static loads like bike racks are just as well-made as those from Draw-Tite which do not share this requirement. Curt's warranty policy requires the strap for many of their hitches, but in truth almost any hitch that will be handling the load of a bike rack or cargo carrier will benefit from using one or even two of the straps to steady the rack/carrier in the hitch as you go down the road. In no...

  • Hitch Clearance for Bike Rack on 2011 Ford Fusion
We offer two Class I hitches for your 2011 Ford Fusion, the Draw-Tite # 24865 and the Curt # C11390. I reviewed the two linked installation videos for these items to compare their clearance dimensions and they differ by only 1/4-inch. The Curt hitch will provide approximately 5-1/4-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper cover, while the Draw-Tite dimension is 5-inches. The clearance provided by compatible Class I bike racks will vary between racks. A new...
