Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And Towing Accessories For 2012 Ford Fusion SE
Question:
Hi, there! I have a new 2012 Ford Fusion SE, and I need to get a hitch onto the thing. Most modern hitches are of the hidden Euro-hitch variety, which require lengthy extensions and have commensurate weight and leverage limitations. Are there any old-school hitches available? Id prefer to have the hitch receiver visible and sticking out, as God intended. : Am I out of luck?

Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24865. This hitch is 5-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper to the center of the itch pin hole. The Curt Hitch # C11390 has a measurement from the outermost bumper of 5 inches to the center of the hitch pin hole.
For your ball mount, I recommend the Curt Class II Drawbar - 2-5/8" Rise, 3-1/4" Drop - 7-1/4" Long - 3,500 lbs # C45521 along with a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball like # A-80 or a 2 inch ball like # A-82. You will also need the Curt Class I and II Pin and Clip - 1/2" Diameter # F-4.
For your trailer wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118422. This harness will connect to your factory wiring behind each tail light. You will connect the harness to your battery using a wire with a fuse holder. I've attached an article to assist as well as videos.
