Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

These wheels still looks like new after 3500 miles of use. Great seal on the bead and valve stem.

by:

Always top quality items, shipped fast, excellent communication. Good enough reasons to keep coming back:)

Still round and rolling smoothly down the road.

by:

Quick shipping from etrailer, but I wish I had noticed that these don't come with valve stems before I ordered. I got the high-pressure stems from them soon enough though. Like others have said about these, they look shinier in the pics then they really are. Some of the welds were a bit rough, and the finish wasn't perfect, but a liberal amount of elbow grease got them looking great. Huge improvement from the ugly old wheels I had.
So far I'm happy. We'll see how they look after some use.

I recently purchased a galvanize rim four on four for my trailer I bought the rim to use as a spare but I like the way it looks on the trailer so I'm going to get one for the other side. I will use my black rim as a spare.

by:

I bought a pair of these wheels to replace the existing rusty painted wheels on my boat trailer- nice improvement! Here are before and after pictures.

by:

Merchandise as advertised & met expecta tions.

by:

Very nice wheel..
I only wished it had
valve stems,
But no big deal...
Thank you!

by:

I had both wheels installed this afternoon after receiving the package arrived as scheduled. They look great. See attachments. L.p.pI can't wait to haul stuff with these new sets of wheels on my utility trailer. Great products with excellent service. For sure, i will continue to purchase stuff from etrailer. Thank you.

by:

Worked out fine

by:

Galvanized 12 inch trailer rims arrived very fast. 1 rim had small bent spot/ding that did not affect tire seating ability. Galvanizing was very good. Overall quality was very good. Mounted Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial tires, which are speed rated to 81 mph. I depend on etrailer for my small boat trailer wheels and tires. I tow this small trailer about 15,000 miles a year, so need quality and service. Thanks etrailer.

by:

The finish on this wheel was pretty rough. It appeared to have curb rash on the circumference and there were paint flakes in the lug nut/ valve stem holes. It’s hard to tell if this was a brand new wheel with a horrible paint job that also dripped down all on one side or if it was welded and refurbished and then sold as new. The tire mounted OK, with no apparent leaks so far. I guess it will be OK for my Harbor Freight light utility trailer, unless it starts leaking or it comes apart some how.

During the galvanization process the wheels are dipped into the solution and then are drip dried. Which means that it can allow for a rougher finish, and is probably why it is is looking dripped more on one side than the other.

Great item and fast shipping.Thanks

FAST DELIVERY: I ordered online late Sunday afternoon; these were delivered to my porch in West Texas on Wednesday. (I've ordered from eTrailer a few times over the years; same good experience each time.)

I had tried painting my old white wheels; the paint did not stick well, so I threw up my hands and ordered these, which I had previously considered.

APPEARANCE: Now, these are not chrome; they are galvanized and therefore have every right to look like your grandmother's galvanized wash tub. But these (I ordered three) look very much like the photo, which to me appears to be a semi-gloss, slightly uneven chromed look. So these wheels do, at casual glance, appear to have been chrome plated; on closer inspection, the galvanized irregularity is visible, a mildly waxy sheen or such.

My white painted wheels lasted 20+ years, then became a bit rusty; I expect these to last much longer.

by:

People need to read the bad reviews as well. Some of the reviews said the wheels were crap. I thought with the bad reviews, something would have been done about the blemished wheels. I was wrong. My wheels were very disappointing to me. They looked like they covered up rust or something like it. I'm so disappointed in the product, especially after watching your video. Sorry to say "fool me once" I can't see using etrailer ever again.

by:

Just received this rim for a replacement on my boat trailer. Old one got ruined. very quick turn around time from order to delivery. Haven't mounted a tire on it yet but the rim looks to be very good quality.

by:

The rims are holding up good after a year and look good.

by:

Ok wheels but had lots of rough areas and excess flashing from the galvanizing that I had to smooth out.

by:

Good quality at a good price. I have tow others on a small trailer, and they have weathered well, no issues withe galv coating etc.

by:

Arrived on time perfect condition.
works perfect and looks great for my boat trailer .
thank you
great product

by:

Exactly what I was looking for, exactly as pictured. Super fast shipping!

by:

Excellent product

by:

Delivered on time & in great shape, product is as advertised, Thanks & will shop when in need

by:

Perfect, just what I wanted and it also came faster than I thought it would. Thank you again for great service at a fair price...........

by:

Looks like a good wheel, likely 4 or 5 rating. I'll be using it as a spare so I won't know how it performs for likely a long time. Delivered quickly.

by:

Just as described, just what I needed. Great company to deal with! Fast shipping, too.

  • Solution for Getting Taskmaster Trailer Tire # TT53012C Mounted on 4 Lug Wheel
Since we don't have the # TT53012C mounted on a wheel with a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern you'd need to also get a 4 lug wheel so you could have it mounted locally like with the part # AM20124 for a galvanized wheel or part # AM20140 for a white wheel.

  • 12 Inch Radial Trailer Tire and Steel Wheel with 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern for 2005 Jayco Tent Camper
I have a solution for you, but none of our 12 inch radial tires that are pre-mounted are available on a steel wheel with a 4 on 4 inch wheel bolt pattern. We do have steel 12 inch wheels with 4 on 4 inch wheel bolt pattern available, but the are not offered with a tire already mounted. The best solution will be to get the tire and the wheel and then have a local tire shop mount them for you. For a 12 inch radial trailer tire, we offer the Kenda Karrier S-Trailer ST145/R12 Radial Trailer...

  • Correct Lug Nut Torque for 12-Inch Steel Trailer Wheel
For a 4-lug steel wheel with 1/2-inch studs like # AM20124 the correct torque range is 75-85 ft-lbs. For a 15-inch steel wheel like the item # TA37RR that you referenced the torque range is 90-120 ft-lbs. In general the larger a wheel is the more torque it requires and steel wheels typically need higher torque than aluminum wheels.

For a trailer with a 4.80-12 tire size you would need either a 4-Lug # AM20124 or 5-Lug # AM20134 wheel. We do have these with tires already installed as the 4-Lug Package # AM30630 or 5-Lug Package # AM30670 so you can just bolt them on and go.

  • Replacement Tire for Highway Use on 4x8 Ultra Tow Foldable Aluminum Trailer
The best option for a highway tire is going to be switching to a radial. Radial tires have better performance in general, especially on the road. The Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial Trailer Tire # TT48012C would be the best choice. This tire has a capacity of 990 lbs at 90 psi and a max speed rating of M for 81 mph. It will also fit on your existing wheels. We do not have a wheel and tire combination with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern so if you want wheels as well we carry 12" wheels like the # DEX44FR...

  • Are Trailer Wheel Hub Bore (Pilot Diameter) Measurements Universal Sizes
The center hub bore size can vary between wheels so you will need to verify the hub bore size (pilot diameter) before replacing your 8" wheels with 12" wheels. For example, the Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20124 with the galvanized finish has the 4 on 4" bolt pattern that it looks like you have and a pilot diameter of 2.84". It looks like your current lug nuts sit flush against your wheel and they don't have a cone shape. If this is the case then you will need 60 degree coned lug nuts...

In order to determine what to torque the lug nuts on your 14" trailer wheels, you will need to know what size the lug studs on your hubs are. I've attached a helpful chart that will give you the torque specs for a variety of different wheels but you will need to use a dial or digital calipers to measure the diameter of the stud and then torque accordingly.

  • 5.30-12 Load Range D Tire Mounted on Galvanized Wheel with 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern
We don't offer a wheel tire combo with a load range D tire, but you could always purchase the # AM10068 and the # AM20124 wheel separately and have them mounted locally. Another option would be to go up to a 13 inch wheel/tire like # AM3S130. This tire is 1 inch wider and would move your tire about 1 inch closer to the underside of the fender/wheel well. As long as you had at least 3-4 inches of clearance when the trailer is loaded, that would work fine for you. The tire is a 175/80-13...

  • 12 Inch Wheel Recommendation For Trailer
The galvanizing process on the wheels we offer like part # AM20124, do have a shinier finish. For a more dull traditional finish as you mentioned I recommend the Americana Aluminum Split Spoke Trailer Wheel, part # AM22318HWT. This wheel has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern and is a 12 by 4 inch rim. Also, it has a capacity of 1,220 lbs at 80 psi.

That's pretty much the max for a bias ply tire this size but if you switch to a radial like the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire part # TT53012C you can get up to 81 mph.
