Video Transcript for Valterra RV Fresh Water - Water Pressure Regulator - A01-1122VP Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Velterra High Flow Water Regulator for RV's. This is going to protect your RV's plumbing against high pressure. It regulates incoming water pressure to 50 to 55 PSI. It does not reduce pressure when the inlet pressure is below 55 PSI, so please keep that in mind. This regulator also allows for 15 to 20 percent more flow, and more flow means better showers. It does conform with federal and state laws for drinking water fixtures.

It's going to include the screen washer to help keep out dirt and debris. It's made from a lead-free brass construction, and it's designed to fit all standard water hose and campground water risers. It's going to include the gripper right here for easy installation onto the faucet. No tools required. Taking a look at the overall length, measuring from edge to edge, we can see that the unit's going to measure about 3 inches long.

That's going to do it for today's look at the Velterra High Flow Water Regulator for RV's.

You never know what kind of water pressure you’re going to encounter at different campgrounds, this regulator gives you peace of mind, works as it should.

by:

This water regulator has worked great for me in the past year. I've taken three long trips from the East out to the West where there often was high pressure. My trailer has had no trouble with the water pressure. The regulator is just something that goes in the standard operations so that I never forget it.

This product works as stated. We installed on our outside faucet and it knocked the water pressure down to 40-45 PSI.

Spent 7 months on the road and we used this at each camp site to insure the RV lines didnt get damaged.

by:

ordered and received in about 5 days. Seems nice and sturdy, good brass connector. Installed on input line and it works perfectly- no leaks from connection. They had recently updated water lines in our RV park and pressure was way to high- caused my kitchen facet to start leaking. Installed regulator and pressure is where it should be now and still plenty for a good shower. Good service from these people

by:

Works perfect, good investment when hooking up to different campsites in the past year, caused you never really now how much pressure you will getting if they have a good oversized pumping station and what might come threw the lines, have been camping 50 years And strange things happen

by:

Reduces the water pressure to 50-55 p.s.I. enough pressure for a decent shower.

Still a great unit. Works perfect.

Etrailer.com immediately processed and shipped my order. Consequently it was delivered in just a few days. I have been rv'ing for 25 years and Etrailer.com has been rendering this great service for as long as I can remember.

by:

Easy to connect and a must for any camper when traveling to unknown parks and campgrounds. Keeps the pressure from causing any trouble with the lines in the camper. I opted for the high flow model rather than the standard one.

by:

Decent pressure regulator. I have owned several of these. Keeps the water pressure where it need to be. Does tend to bind when installing or removing. I have had one that worked perfect in all aspects.

by:

Works great and allows a bit more pressure than the other brand we've been using for several years. We kept the old one as a spare but we'll probably never use it again.

by:

Best pressure regulator I've used. Allows for a little more water pressure than the normal regulator. Now showers in my rv are like being at home.

by:

This is the best water regulator we have ever purchased for any of our previous trailers. etrailer has great products and is easy to work with.

by:

Thank you etrailer for the speedy delivery of the pressure reducer. It is well made of good design. The only critisisum I have is, the finish on the orange grip is unfriendly to the hands. It's rough edges have spikes of plastic and they needed to be sanded down for comfortable use. I use this with my RV at campsites.

by:

Works great. Prevents water heater relief valve from leaking at parks with high water header pressure.

by:

Quick ship. Install in my 66 Airstream was a breeze. I put 1 in front and 1 in back to circulate air, which the originals just couldn't do very well.

by:

Second order from etrailer, great and fast service. If you have trailer needs, this is the place to go.

by:

As promised, the regulator delivers much more water than the cheaper versions.

by:

Great product! Controls water pressure without reducing volume. Nice grip for tightening and removing. Easy to use.

by:

Looks well made and it was delivered in a timely manner. I will likely purchase more from etrailer in the future.

by:

Works great!

by:

This is a quick and easy way to make sure your camper does not blow out your plumbing with to much pressure. I'm trying to get away from buying everything from Amazon. I'm glad I did, no delay because I'm not a prime member....... Yahoo.

by:

Heavy duty solid design. Internal screen. Nice grip for connecting to water spigot. Works great.

by:

Plastic gripper came lose. Still usable

  • What Could Cause RV Water Regulator to Lose Pressure Over Time
It's possible the regulator has gone bad over time or has gotten clogged. More likely it's gotten clogged if the pressure has been greatly reduced. The Valterra brand is a solid brand though. I wouldn't think twice about ordering a new one like # A01-1122VP or a JR regulator like the # 37204-62425 that you referenced.

  • What is Recommended Max Water Pressure for a Rockwood Mini Lite 2109S
The max water pressure that most Rv/trailers can handle is 55 psi. This isn't a hard and fast rule but it is a general rule of thumb since most of them use the same type of fittings. If you were to use the Valterra High Flow Water Regulator # A01-1122VP then you should be good to go as it regulates the incoming water pressure to 50-55 psi.

  • What Are the Differences Between the JR and Valterra Water Pressure Regulators
The different water pressure regulators has to do with the construction of the material (brass/stainless steel), pressure range (40-50 psi/50-55 psi etc.), and additional features such as the inclusion of a gauge or built-in bend. I am not sure exactly what two products you are referring to as we offer several from each brand but they will both work to reduce the water pressure entering the trailer. I have attached a list of options for you. The difference in price has to do with the reasons...

  • How Is Debris In Water Trapped By Water Regulator For RVs
A water regulator like part # A01-1122VP has a small filter that catches most of the debris you may have in the water. I have attached a photo of the regulator that shows the small screen. After the water pressure is reduced you can use the filter like part # CAM40631 that will clean up the balance of debris like aluminum, bacteria, bad taste, cadmium, chlorine, fungus, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide, iron, lead, mercury, mold, odor, cloudiness, and sediment.

  • Adjustable Water Pressure Recommendation for RV to Increase Water Pressure
We do offer an adjustable water pressure regulator, part # A01-1117VP, that includes a gauge to display the outgoing water pressure. Output water pressure is adjustable from 0 to 160 psi. I'd recommend using this to incrementally increase your water pressure till you get it where you want without going overboard. Increasing the pressure slightly would not be a problem.

  • RV Water Filter and Regulator
Our water filters like # CAM40631 need to be used after the water goes through a regulator and is reduced to 60 psi or less. For a water regulator you can use # A01-1122VP which will keep the pressure at 50 to 55 psi.

  • Where Does the Water Regulator Get Installed On a Camper
The Valterra High Flow Water Regulator part # A01-1122VP will need to be installed on the city water inlet, on the exterior of the camper. This would be the only location that could protect the plumbing inside your camper. That said, I recommend you go with the Valterra Water Regulator and Pressure Gauge part # A01-1124VP which has an easy to read gauge instead.

  • Availability of Adjustable Water Pressure Regulator
We do offer an adjustable water pressure regulator, part # A01-1117VP, that includes a gauge to display the outgoing water pressure. Output water pressure is adjustable from 0 to 160 psi. We also offer part # CAM40064, which although not adjustable, is equipped with a gauge to display relative pressure. If you keep this item operating in the yellow zone on the dial you will know your water pressure is below 40-psi. Please refer to the linked videos for more on these items.
