E-Z Lube-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Received said parts on time. ordering and shipping process was easy, straight forward and much appreciated. Have not installed or looked at parts at this time but expecting all to go well.

by:

Received the correct bearing the second time but shipped it via the Postal Service which took forever. Because etrailer originally shipped the wrong parts I think was entitled to next day shipping, not the pony express.

by:

Sadly, I have to give this product a negative rating because of quality control. I had a wheel break off at the wheel studs on the way home from a camping trip.. When I installed the hubs, I did it by the book right down to the torque specifications. The hubs were only about 9 months old and had about 2,000 miles on them. I am unable to explain how this happened. I was not overloaded and I didn’t hit anything. The picture says it all. Because it broke of at the studs, putting on the spare wasn’t an option. I had to unhitch, get parts the next day, and then make the repairs. Of course it happened at night and I was unable to find the wheel. So in addition to the repair, I had to buy a whole new tire and wheel.

Great. Right product first time.

by:

We were unable to find the part required to fix our 5th wheel. We had exhausted all avenues or so we thought. We were told to try Etrailer. The part we needed was available and after talking with their staff the part was ordered and delivered very quickly. The part was installed today and we are very happy. I would and have recommended Etrailer not only to friends but also some of the businesses we worked with.

by:

Was perfect and cheaper than getting from the dealership. Well packaged with no rust or damage. Will definitely order more from etrailer.com. Make sure you pay attention to axle weight, brand, and bolt pattern and you will get the right parts.

by:

Our order was delivered ahead of schedule, correct, and in good condition, but that's typically the norm for etrailer.

by:

Due to supply chain issues, there was a good chance that a large part of my order would be delayed by months. However,George, Carol, and Samantha expedited things and everything arrived on time. Good job Etrailer!

by:

This product is working great. I used it to replace a part that became damaged.
etrailer is a great company to purchase from, very competitive prices and parts always come quickly.

  • Replacement Bearings, Races, Seals, Brake Drums and Brake Assemblies for 4400 lb Axle
The spindles used on the 4400 axle are compatible with the # L67048 Inner bearing and # LM67010 race and the # L44649 Outer bearing and # L44610 race, along with the 10-19 grease seal, part # RG06-050. You'll want to confirm this by pulling one of the hubs to check the reference numbers off of your current bearings. For brakes, you'd need a 10 x 2-1/4 inch brake assembly. I'd recommend a Nev-r-adjust assembly, part # K23-478-479 for the right and left sides. Typically, it's recommended...

Thank you for the part number info on the hubs of your 2016 Keystone Cougar Xlite based that we can tell you have a 4,400 lb trailer axle so for a replacement hub you'd want the part # 8-407-5UC3-EZ. Then for brake assemblies you'd want the part # K23-478-479 and you'd be set.

  • Replacement Hub, Brake Assemblies, and Bearings for Lippert 4,400 lb Trailer Axle
Since you have a Lippert 4,400 lb axle the correct replacement hub would be the part # 8-407-5UC3-EZ that you referenced. Then for bearings you are correct you'd just need the part # L68149 and # LM67048. As far as the races go this hub uses the # LM67010 and the # L44610. The reason it may seem different is that the 4,400 lb axle is pretty rare. Other thing to consider is that races in general don't wear out and need replacement like bearings do.

  • Can 6K Mobile Home Axle Fit with Standard 6-Lug Hub and Drum
The only hub/drum assembly we have that matches those specs is the Dexter # 8-407-5UC3-EZ but it's only rated for a 4.4K axle so you don't want to be using it for a 6K axle. If your trailer is equipped with mobile home axles then your best bet is to change out your axles. Mobile home axles are really only designed to be used once so there isn't much thought into making sure replacement parts will be readily available. Should you choose to replace your axles you'll need to take hub-face...

  • Recommended Hub For Mobile Home Axle That Uses L68149 and LM67048 Bearings
We have one option that will work for you. The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 4,400-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-407-5UC3-EZ uses inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # LM67048 so it would work perfectly on your spindle. This hub is designed to work with 10" electric trailer brakes # K23-462-463-00. Since the # 8-407-5UC3-EZ has the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern I recommend going with the Lionshead Steel Modular Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" - 6 on 5-1/2 - White # AM20532...

This fits a 4,400 lb hub and drum assembly like the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 4,400-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-407-5UC3-EZ.

  • Replacement Hub Grease Seal for Dexter 4,400 lb Trailer Axle
The hubs used by the Dexter 4400 lb axle are 3500 lb hubs that have had their weight capacity upgraded by using a LM67048 outer wheel bearing. A 4400 hub like the # 8-407-5UC3-EZ would use the same # 58846 grease seal as a 3500 lb hub would. Long story short, the correct grease seal for your Dexter 4400 lb axle would indeed be the # 58846.

It also comes with new lug nuts. You might need grease though as this is not pre-greased. There is one hub that we carry that uses the LM67048 outer and L68149 Inner bearing. This is a hub and drum assembly # 8-407-5UC3-EZ.
