Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection. The hitch seems fine. My mechanic had no trouble mounting it for me, and it was an upgrade from a previously rusted-out piece. It fits 2" bike racks, tray extensions and trailer hitch assemblies.
Only word of advice is that the G2 CrV has such a comically low max payload of about 600 pounds, that the hitch didn't allow for loading much into the car. There is nothing bad about this hitch, but next time I'd probably get the lighter Class I hitch so as to deter siblings from overloading my car when they borrow it.
Excellent service and communication. Highly recommend. Hitch was delivered in a sturdy box. My only gripe was the hitch poked through the box in 4 different places from the delivery service(UPS). Minor scuffs on the paint which shouldn’t effect the durability(Rust) and nothing was missing. Very happy with purchase
It fits perfect and the video link of how to install was fantastic. I have been able to miunt my bike rack and enjoy my hobbies because of the very sturdy and well built hitch. Thank you for shipping to APO pacific so I can serve our great country and still get a great hitch from a US company.
Purchased this hitch receiver for my daughter's car before she goes to college. Purpose was for possible use of hitch-mounted bike rack in the future. Car has 190,000 miles on it.
Took me about 3 hours to install, but it should have taken less if I had read the instructions more closely. Specifically, in my case, two things: (1) enlarge only the forward hole on each frame rail and feed the fish wire, bolt and supporting block through it to the rear hole, and (2) reinstalling inboard rear muffler hanger on vehicle mounted hanger post before installing hitch assembly. I wasted time enlarging rear frame rail hole to accept bolt and support block, and further wasted time re-lowering hitch assembly to install rubber hanger strap on inboard post.
I opted to remove the muffler entirely. Silicone lubricant spray made easy removal of the rubber hangers off the frame mounted posts. The forward attach junction was not difficult with some PB Blaster and a 12mm deep well socket. Car has very little rust, so not a struggle. Reused existing gasket - no leaks. Enlarging the frame rail hole was not too big a deal; a Dremel drill with grinding bit was sufficient. The hole was big enough for the bolt, but the support block is slightly wider, necessitating the enlargement. The hitch receiver is not light enough to manhandle single-handed AND install the nuts on the frame rail bolts. Put a 2" ball hitch on receiver so the receiver would balance on a box under the car so I could install nuts on the bolts without pushing bolts into frame rail to be lost. Worked pretty good. Without hitch support, even two people might struggle holding it.
As recommended in instructions, bent tangs on muffler hanger posts upward about 1/2" or so (no Mapp burner, used heat gun to warm tangs), so as to lower muffler approximately 1/2". Placed muffler pipe over rear axle, and installed inboard muffler hanger post on hanger strap (that honestly was the most difficult part of the install). Then, with hanger strap already installed on muffler outboard post, installed hanger strap on outboard vehicle-mounted post. That was the easy one. Then reattached muffler pipe to mid-pipe. Clearance turned out to be about right, as top of muffler clears bolt ends by 1/4 to 3/8". No rattles or noises from rear of car while driving.
Overall, happy with experience. Hitch looks to be well-built, robust, and nice-looking. It was well packed for shipping, and suffered no damage during shipping. Receiver tucks up close to, but not quite, touching rear bumper cover, and is flush vertically with rear bumper. Will most likely purchase another one for wife's Toyota.
This has been a very solid hitch. Installation went reasonably smooth given it is only the second one I have installed. The kit came with some ingenious wires to fish the mounting bolts through the vehicle’s frame. I was able to install on my own with the help of my SUV floor jack to keep it in the right position. A second person helping would make the job easier but you will probably want to have a jack available regardless. I’m using this for a 4 bike platform rack.
I purchased a Draw-Tite Max -Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver 75690 from e-Trailer to replace a class I receiver for hauling our bikes and also my trailer. I needed a more weight capacity hitch because I had to extend my bike rack past my spare tire on my Honda CRV. Now with the 7 inch added adapter purchased from e-Trailer I can haul our two bikes safely. The hitch was very easy to install and I give 5 stars for e-Trailer because of their quality products and competitive prices and fast service. Since then I ordered a locking anti wobble hitch pin and a 2" stainless steel ball and again e-Trailer came through quality parts and satisfaction.
Product Is fine but is not nearly as easy to install. For one thing the spacers and carriage bolts don’t fit in the holes, so the “no drilling required” claim is not true. Secondly it is impossible to put back the second rubber mount for the exhaust once the hitch is on. Let’s just say install will be a royal pain.
Excellent!!
The hitch looks great on the back of my 2004 CR-V. Installation was straightforward. The instructional video provided several helpful tips, especially regarding the muffler hangers.
I had trouble reattaching the inboard muffler hanger, and had to improvise. My temporary solution was to use two zip-ties to connect it to the bracket on the muffler.
I chose this over the Curt model, as it looked more robust, and didn't require stabilizing straps for unsupported loads.
Now that it is installed, I need to try it out!
My etrailer looks OEM on my 2003 Honda CRV. It does not protrude from the rear bumper and the sides of the etrailer angle underneath the vehicle that has a great aesthetic appearance.
Unfortunately, my vehicle only has a 1500lb tow capacity preventing me from using the etrailer for what I intended.
The Draw-tite hitch exceeded my expectations. It arrived quickly with no damage. The quality is above what I expected. It looks much stronger than my CR-V’s towing capacity will ever need, and it is less visible on the vehicle than I expected. Installation was straightforward with no major issues. The etrailer installation video was excellent. Unless something in the video scares you, you should have no issue installing the hitch yourself. I used a drill and chisel to enlarge the first mounting hole, and I thought the results could be better. I used a rotary tool with a 1” cutoff wheel on the remaining three. It was a good bit faster and easier, especially above the muffler. It left cleaner, more accurate holes.
2006 CRV: A suggestion by another here was useful, which was to counterbalance the hitch by inserting something in the 2” square and balanced it on the hydraulic jack. See pics. Also, if necessary, just get the first nut started without the washer, and come back to it once the others are installed. I bent the hanger pins with large channel lock pliers to get the clearance for the muffler.
Nice hitch, easy to install with two people. My only gripe is the carriage bolts are to short, I got them flush with the nut, don't like that, I like to see at least 1/4 inch of threds. I also under coated the hitch before installing it.
Easy fit and proper hardware. Simple install. Great product and great service.

Perfect hitch
My orders always show up quicker than I expected. I have purchased hitches for the last 4 vehicles I’ve owned through etrailer. Good stuff and reliable
I am very happy with this hitch. It looks great and I enjoyed installing it myself. I'm not gonna lie I ran into a few difficulties with the installation but the staff at etrailer helped me through each problem.
Great experience! The website was easy to use and my receiver hitch showed up when I was told it would and it was very easy to install. I had never installed a receiver hitch before but after watching etrailers video on [online] it only took me about an hour to do by myself. Thank for all the help etrailer!
Installed it myself. Used it plenty of times and no issues. Will buy it again for my next vehicles. I even installed one on my cousins car.
Received the hitch, receiver, ball and T-harness in one shipment. Good to go. Install was pretty straight forward. For my CRV, I took a hammer and chisel to make an indent about 1/8 of an inch deep in order to allow the locking washers and the heads of the carriage bolts that secure the hitch to the Honda uni-frame to pass through the hole. The thread on wire guides worked slick. I per-sprayed the rubber exhaust hangers on the muffler and directly in front of the rear axle with silicone spray which makes the hangers slide easily off and back onto the hangers. The left rear hanger... is problematic. If you slide the hanger off the body (versus the muffler) you won't be able to slide the hanger back onto the body mount AFTER the hitch install. At least not without shaving some of the hanger thickness off of the upper end that slides onto the body mount. Other than that slight annoyance, the hitch fit is very good and it tucks up under the CRV nicely.

One year later, and the hitch and wiring is still functioning as designed. The powder coat on the hitch has held up well and, honestly, for the vehicle being a Honda CRV, it looks good on the car. We have towed a light camping trailer on multiple occasions for probably 1500 miles and the hitch has functioned well. Good product.
The hitch fit my car very well, with one exception. The recovery loop on my car appeared to have been bent up. I added a spacer between the loop and the trailer hitch surface so I could tighten the u-bolt without putting a stress on the rest of the assembly. The directions were clear, however, I would strongly suggest that the hitch installation is a two person task. Also, I found it to be much easier to remove the muffler to install the hitch rather than try to work around it. Using the wires to work the carriage bolts and rectangular plates into place worked really well. I fixed a small c-clamp to the end of the wire after feeding it through to prevent the wire from being pulled back from the weight of the carriage bolt.

We use it to pull a Camp Inn tear trailer. We picked up the trailer in Wisconsin and traveled with it to our home in western Washington. Weve taken a few trips since. The hitch has been trouble free. The trailer is right at the weight limit for our CRV, however it has brakes so I have had no safety concerns beyond the normal issues of pulling a trailer. I was able to mount a RV style plug on the hitch structure with a fabricated mount. Thanks for the great products.
Have only used my draw-tite hitch a few times so far to pull a small trailer but intend to get a bike rack for it eventually. Hitch looks nice on vehicle because its a 2 inch. Hitch works great and install was easy. Ordered the draw-tite because it did not require additional support for certain applications.

Love the draw-tite hitch. Using on an CRV and have pulled multiple trailers and used it for a Thule bike rack. Hitch was easy to install with easy to follow instructions.
Perfect fit on my 06' CR-V, but had to disconnect exhaust hangers on the fear muffler to mount the right part of the hitch. The instructions were adequate to mount the hitch and install the wiring.
I chose this hitch over the completion because i liked the round, tubular design. It looked and is more substantive.
I used the accessory plug holder to mount the plug for a tidy installation.

Quality product, good video constructions, good hardware. On 06 CR-V had to loosen R side muffler hanger to install that side.
Sal went out of his way to help my hitch come in the mail in time. I'm pretty sure it only took about 12 hours out of that 24 hr period!
amazing hitch Perfect fit made with high quality and very easy install, from all the hardware necessary to tools to make the job even easier, all wiring was plug and play and very detailed instructions, I wouldnt buy from anyone else!
I'd been thinking of adding a hitch to my CR-V when my muffler rotted on the forward end. I knew this was a grand opportunity to install a hitch without working around the muffler, so I ordered right away and did the installation myself in the driveway with the muffler out. A friend helped hold up the side while I strung the bolts with the ingenious etrailer system. All good, and off to the muffler shop. Saved me from buying a pick-up truck.

Never a problem, never an issue. Completely pleased.
Relatively easy install. The four fish wires included are brilliant, no lost bolts. Be sure that you remove the lower muffler hangers, not the ones attached to the frame (even though they are easier to remove) because once the hitch is installed the upper hanger hooks are blocked by the hitch.

Hitch is still great, no problems. etrailer support is WAY above average!

We do have a video of this hitch being installed on a 2004 CR-V that shows some of the issues that you experienced. The installation instructions do indicate that the holes in the frame will need to be enlarged to allow the hardware to be fished through. Our installers us a small rotary tool for this, but we have seen a variety of tools used to achieve the same result. Additionally the installation instructions have a note after step 1 to make sure that the rubber exhaust hanger is re-installed before the hitch is raised into place, and it is remove the exhaust hanger from the muffler side instead of the hanger rod side due to the interference with the hitch side bracket. I have included a link to the installation instructions and our installation video for your reference.
