Can a hitch for a 2012 and newer CR-V fit on a 2005 model?

I have a few hitches that will fit on a 2005 Honda CR-V and a few hitches that will fit on a 2012 Honda CR-V, however, one hitch will not fit on both models.

If you have a 2005 Honda CR-V I recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75690. We have test fitted this hitch on a 2005 CR-V and is confirmed to fit by Draw-Tite. I recommend this hitch because it will fit the best on your vehicle and you will not need support straps when using this hitch for all non-trailer loads like you would need with the Curt hitch made for a 2005 Honda CR-V.

If you have a 2012 Honda CR-V I recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75742. We have also test fitted this hitch on your vehicle and it is confirmed to fit a 2012 Honda CR-V by Draw-Tite. I recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch over the Curt Hitches for a 2012 Honda CR-V because the Curt Hitch does require stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads.
