Question:
I would like to know your recommendations for a hitch mounted bike rack for 4 bikes for a Honda CRV 2006. Thanks very much.

Your 2006 Honda CR-V can be fitted with either of two sizes/classes of trailer hitch, a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch or a higher-capacity 2-inch Class III. You can carry 4 bikes on a Class III hitch but only 2 bikes can be carried on a Class I hitch. Linked for you are a page showing all available hitches and two articles concerning these types and sizes of hitch receiver. Of the Class III hitches for your CR-V I suggest the Draw-Tite # 75690 since it does not require a stabilizing strap and for its moderate cost.
The bike rack you referenced, the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, will fit both hitch sizes and can be used in a Class I hitch - but only for two bikes. It will also fit a 2-inch hitch and in that application it can handle carrying your 4 bikes. I have linked a video showing use of this carrier on a CR-V. This rack will easily clear the rear-mounted spare tire on your car.
