Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located either behind your rear bumper or inside the frame channel on the driver's side.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Awesome! fast service; ordered and in 1 day it arrived! it installed perfectly
all the hardware fit like a glove. The staff was friendly and they know their
products well. I would strongly advise to use e-trailer for any of your hitch needs over any other source out their. You wont be disappointed!!

by:

I chose this option to eliminate cutting into factory harness and creating points for corrosion to enter. I cut the 4 -pole end off of this harness and wired up a 7-pole socket inside a junction box and added a brake controller and charging wire. These plug and play harnesses are the way to go.

by:

This product worked well for me on a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. The truck's wiring harness has a connector along the driver's side of the frame rail behind the rear bumper where this pigtail could be installed and still be close enough to reach my boat trailer hitch. I added some 3/8 plastic sleeve to the pig tail and secured with some tie wraps.

1994 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I purchased this product for my 1994 Chevy suburban 1500. Very simple plug& play application.I spent less then a 1/2 hour tying the trailer harness into the existing wiring harness.

by:

Installation was a breeze and quality was excellent. My only suggestion would be a possible bracket to mount the trailer plug. Other than that great product. By the way ordering was simple and delivered faster than expected.

Worked great for my 98 K1500 Z71!

1998 GMC C/K Series Pickup

This is a great product, it installed directly into the factory wiring on my 1998 Sierra. The only issue I had and prevented 5 stars was the wimpy self tapper they sent with it, which even with proper lubrication self destructed on the frame. Otherwise, the product itself did exactly what it was intended to do.

by:

It just plugs in , no cutting or splicing to fail later

by:

I have used these before, only way to go. Simple

by:

This was what we needed to wire up my buddy's truck for trailer lights. The only issue we had was the pins on the male side of the plug were not centered in the connector, so we adjusted them to the center with a small screwdriver. After doing that the connector fit the existing connections on the truck. All in all it was a very easy installation.

I actually bought it for a friend and it has performed well for him.

by:

Everything worked great, and was exactly the fit I needed for my truck. I did receive 2 of the same mirrors instead of both sides. But they fixed that quickly and professionally plus even had rush delivery! Will be ordering from e-trailer from now on for my towing/hauling needs

by:

Everything you need to connect this is in the package. The light kit itself, the zip ties, the dielectric grease, etc.

If you intend to connect the ground, you may need to have a drill available. The screw to secure the ground pin was also connected.

Excellent product that I would highly recommend to anyone needing it.

Fantastic!

Customer Service was fantastic! They were prompt and fixed our problem right away. We bought the trailer, and one of the lights wasn't working. We didn't notice till we got it home. Called George, and he sent out the new light no charge, that day. Received it within a couple days. No issues with light or trailer since then.

1999 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

This adapter made everything work! I tried to get to the trailer wires thinking it was a 5 to 4 connection and bought the wrong adapter because of it. Should have just went with this to start with and it makes the wiring cleaner. Highly recommend using this adapter. How all my aux lights work and will be able to add additional light as well as putting my tow hitch to work!

Thanks for the concern. All is well. I am a “rookie” when it comes to Boat and Trailer wiring. I have learned a great deal this past year... mostly from the many mistakes I have made. However it has been enjoyable and self rewarding.

by:

Works good my old man kept splicing wire harness for is trailer light so I just orders from these guys and came in the mail a couple days after that. Literally only took 5 mins to install it a plug and play pretty much just have to hook ground to frame. I would recommend this for any vehicle because you have no splices and every thing is water tight. Work good you live where they lay a lot of salt down in Winter time.

by:

The instructions were very easy to understand. It only took a few minutes to install. The connector on my truck came apart easily but connecting the harness into the truck connectors was hard. It required a lot of force, but I got it. I have not used it yet, but all the truck lights are functioning.

by:

Plug-in fits great and works great! Harness is plenty long to reach the trailer wiring connector.

  • Needing a Wiring Harness Adapter to Hook a 1997 Chevrolet 1500 Truck to Trailer Lights
For your 1997 Chevrolet 1500 truck, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 41125. This harness will quickly install on your vehicle using a simple T-connector to plug into your OEM wiring. You will not have to cut or splice into your existing wiring. I also recommend using dielectric grease, # LT37534, when installing this wiring harness. Just a apply a small amount in each of the harness's plug end prior to installation. The grease will help prevent electrical...

  • Brake Controller Installation on 1995 Chevy C/K Truck
It sure can. A brake controller isn't a vehicle specific item. You can install a brake controller on just about any vehicle with a 12-Volt electrical system. However, I'd recommend going with the # TK63VR brake controller instead. It's at the same price point, and it's a proportional controller. A proportional controller uses an internal accelerometer to send the proper amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so the vehicle and trailer brake at the same rate for safe, dependable and predictable...

  • Location to Connect 4-Way on 1994 Chevy Blazer
According to a pair of manufacturers I checked with, your 1994 Chevy Blazer will have a t-connector beneath your Blazer along the driver's-side frame rail. So long as your '94 Blazer is a full-size, this will allow you to use the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # 41125 or Curt T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55319. Your Blazer must be a full-size though; if it is not there isn't a wiring harness available.

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for 1992 Chevy Suburban
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one) on your 1992 Chevy Suburban. For that you would want the # 41125. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885....

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring And Brake Controller For a 1990 Chevrolet C/K Pickup With Step Bumper
I recommend the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25124 for your 1990 Chevrolet C/K Pickup. This receiver requires no drilling into your frame to mount and has the added benefit of separate bolt on mounts to make installing easier with one person. The receiver has a maximum tongue rating of 1,600lbs and trailer capacity of 16,000lbs with or without a weight distribution hitch. The receiver has a tab to make mounting the 7-Way # ETBC7 easier on your truck. This will allow you...

Yes the discontinued Curt Trailer Hitch 37069 will fit on your 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500. It will require drilling to be installed. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14081 for you as this will allow you a no drill installation. This hitch is designed to work with the standard or step bumper on your year truck. If your Chevrolet has the roll pan rear bumper the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13942 will be the correct hitch. The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness...

It will not fit if your GMC has a roll pan, or deep drop bumper. For a deep drop bumper Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15317 is the one I recommend. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13942 will fit with a roll pan rear bumper of 1500 series trucks. You will need a Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # 41125 to give you a 4-way flat...

Yes, you can use the Hopkins 4-pole wiring harness # 41125 on your 2000 Chevrolet C3500 1-ton pickup. This custom-fit part is made to directly fit your existing factory wiring, no cutting or splicing required. Be sure that the included ground ring terminal is tightly affixed to a clean bare metal spot on the vehicle. It is never a bad idea to apply a bit of sandpaper to the grounding point to expose clean bare metal; do this before you apply the included dielectric grease which provides...

  • Recommended 4-Pole Trailer Connector for 2000 GMC Safari Van
To install a 4-pole trailer connector on your 2000 GMC Safari, you'd use part # C55411. Installation would be pretty simple, as there is a wiring harness that ends in bare wires located in the jack storage compartment in the cargo area of your van. The harness is covered in wire loom, and the ends of the wires are likely wrapped in electrical tape. The wires would connect to the # C55411, color for color. For a more secure connection, I'd recommend using butt connectors like part # 05731-5...

  • Parts Needed To Install a 7-Way with a Brake Controller On a 1998 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup
In addition to the 4-Way # 41125 you will also need our 7-Way Kit # ETBC7 and a Brake Controller # 90195 for your 1998 Chevrolet K1500. I have linked an installation video at the bottom of the page which will show you the 7-way and brake controller being installed on a similar 1996 Chevy. I find most prefer to use a simple Tri-Ball Mount # MT70021 for towing since it has all 3 ball sizes for the different couplers used.

  • 7-Way Trailer Wiring Connector Recommendation for 1996 Chevy Suburban
To install a 7-way on your 1996 GMC Suburban you'll need to first install a 4-way like part # 41125 to give you the taillight circuits. Then to convert to a 7-way all you need to do is plug this 4-way into the # 37185 and you'll have a 7-way with the taillight circuits active. If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake controller. It needs to be hardwired into your truck with the black wire going to 12-volt power, white to ground, the blue goes to the rear of your truck to power the trailer brakes, and the red connects to the stop light switch which is the wire coming from the truck's brake pedal connector that is hot only when the pedal is pressed.
