Parts Needed To Install a 7-Way with a Brake Controller On a 1998 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup
Question:
Hello! I have a 98 K1500 and want to add a towing harness to it so I can properly tow. I have seen where there is a harness to tap into the existing brake lights and turn it into a 4 pin adapter, but I want it to have trailer brakes from a 7 pin adapter. In addition to the 4 pin adapter, what else would I need to make sure I have trailer brakes at the hitch? Thanks!

In addition to the 4-Way # 41125 you will also need our 7-Way Kit # ETBC7 and a Brake Controller # 90195 for your 1998 Chevrolet K1500. I have linked an installation video at the bottom of the page which will show you the 7-way and brake controller being installed on a similar 1996 Chevy.
I find most prefer to use a simple Tri-Ball Mount # MT70021 for towing since it has all 3 ball sizes for the different couplers used.
