Hi there RV and trailer owners. Today we're gonna be taking a look at double roller latches for RV and trailer cabinets and compartments. These are going to help keep your doors shut when driving down the road. So you don't have flapping open doors. You've seen these before. This is a pretty common design.
You've got this in a lot of your RV compartments. You also can find this often in your house and a lot of other compartments. The double rollers here will spread open just slightly to allow the latch to go in between. And then they'll kind of squeeze back shut to hold it in place. But the force they put on there, isn't really excessive.
It's enough to keep our door shut. We can see just a slight force there and it was able to suck it in and hold it shut. And that's going to keep it from opening. So picking up a set of these is great if your RV or camper doesn't have these, if you're having issues with your doors, just kind of slamming open. Maybe you got some broken dishes and stuff like that because they fell out on the floor.
An upgrade like this can help keep that door shut. Or maybe you currently have these installed, but maybe they got damaged. You opened the door and the kids we're playing around or something. And this got broken or knocked off or ripped out. You can get new ones here to get those repaired and replaced.
And these do come as a quantity of two. So if you've got smaller cabinets like above your stove, you probably got enough for each door as it opens up, or like a larger cabinet, like this closet here, where there's a lot more mass and weight to the door. You may need to put one in both the top and the bottom in order to hold these larger doors shut. And this is nice and secure. You can definitely tell this is not going to come open so they might have some other objects they want to put in here that are a little heavier, maybe not secured, and they can guarantee you that this door is going to stay shut. Now, in addition to your latches, you are also going to get the hardware to install those on your cabinets. So that way you've got everything you need to make that upgrade. The catches have not lasted a year. They cannot handle the vibrations of a moving camper. I have found ones that are magnetic which seem to work better. Time will tell.
I looked around in all the “Big Box” hardware stores with no luck for an exact match. An Amazon search offered no better results.
etrailer provided an “ exact” replacement. I didn’t even have to drill new holes. This was so easy.
Etrailer has again had the heavy duty latches I needed to repair worn catches on our now 8 year old Arctic Fox, I purchased 2 xtra sets for down the road trying to be ahead of the next drawer or cupboard latch that needs replacement, thank you Etrailer for always having my back

It was very difficult to find the correct replacement cabinet roller catchers. You carried what was closest to the original as we could find. More heavy duty for sure. Installation was straight forward and the product is performing well after a year. We had a 15 hour drive recently through varying conditions and all catches held well.
Couldn't find these at any of the big box hardware stores that have the setback required on the roller catches that was needed for my camper doorss. They work great!
