Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the Shur-latch for your RV cabinets. This helps to keep those cabinet doors closed while you're in transit, or just while you're out enjoying your camper. It's going to be pretty easy to get installed. Pretty easy to use. It's just this little plastic piece that is going to install into a hole in your cabinet door and then latches in there.

It is a spring loaded catch. It comes with a striker plate to go on the frame side of the cabinet and also some hardware to get that all attached. We can take a closer look and talk a little bit more about how that goes together.We're going to have the piece that just kind of comes in and attaches there. Then, whenever you pull out on that tab, releases the catch or the little latch portion and allows you to open that up. Again, it is spring loaded so it should come to a nice close and hold that in.

It is a round design so it's probably best to use a hole saw to get this installed, to create the initial opening for this to go into.I'll give you some measurements to make sure that that will work for you. Might already have a hole that you're just putting this guy into. Outside diameter from edge to edge there, it's about two and a half inches. If we go from the center to the end of the latch, it's about two and a half. And then where that latch would come in, it's about two and a quarter.

That's about how far it's going to go to the edge of the door. The inner diameter is about two inches. Now there are four spots outside of that diameter for the screws to go into so you might want to widen that hole out a little bit, or you can make just some four little indentions for those guys to go into. It's kind of up to you as far as how you want to do that. But this inner circle is about two inches in diameter.If you go to the outer edge of each of those little nodes, it's about two and a quarter inch, maybe two and three-sixteenths.

The depth or, excuse me, thickness of a door that this will fit will be about three quarters of an inch. And then our little striker plate that goes on the other side, that's about one and five-eighths of an inch by about one.
