Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, on the driver's side. You will need to remove the paneling and trunk liner to access the harness.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Put this on a Honda Accord manual 4 cyl. And tow and launch my 12 ft jon boat with haven’t had any problems yet Thanks etrailer!

by:
2005 Nissan Versa

Good Morning.
Weather was favorable,so
I decided to attempt the installation.
Photos are a little out of sequence:
Photo 3: removing panel cover was as easy as video suggested.
Photo 1: Plastic cover removed with no problems (as you can see, I did not empty the trunk). The carpet did not have screw connections, only 2 plastic push pins
Photo 2: As reported in You Tube viewer comments, the connections must be flipped top to bottom and vice versa to match connectors on 2005 Honda Accord
Photo 4:Everything connected, and panels re-installed. You Tube viewer said everything works, so I'll keep you updated.
I do have the trailer light assembly on hand, and may set it the connections to make sure I am legal.

Product installation completed, project rebuild trailer with new lighting has been delayed. Vehicle was actually a 2005 Honda Accord, not Nissan Vesa.

It was awesome the day it arrived at my door, and it was ez to install quick to wire up and I am so excited to be able to finally haul my JetSki back and forth to the lake. It’s been a total blessing not having to worry about an accident or officer pulling me over for having no trailer lights.

The hitch itself was a quality piece; however, the instructions were poor and didn't fit my vehicle. For example, the instructions listed a process to drop the muffler to drill a 5/8 hole in the heat shield and frame. Problem is the frame already had 3/4" holes in the drill location and the heat shield was mounted onto the muffler itself. So I was left to fabricate the hardware to fit those 3/4" holes. Furthermore, the hitch was attached to the tow hook with a bolt; however, it clunks and can be moved up and down even after it has been tightened to the 110 foot pounds of torque. The wiring harness also had poor instructions and left out how to get the harness through the trunk to the actual hitch. Probably because a 2" hole had to be drilled through the rear of the trunk floor. Thankfully I am a metal fabricator and restore classic cars or I couldn't have installed this. Definitely not for the novice do it your self mechanic type.

When the installation instructions mention drilling a hole they are referring to the heat shield. There should have been a hole in the frame to use under the heat shield like you mention. Drilling an additional hole in the frame is not necessary. It is not safe or normal for the hitch to move up and down. I recommend to first loosely tighten all the bolts finger tight after you have the hitch lind up. Then torque down the 716 fasteners in the frame next torque the 12 bolt for the tow loop last after torquing the other bolts. Regarding the wiring harness they are designed to just hang out of the back of the hatch and not through the bottom of the vehicle. However some customers do drill a hole or use a grommet in the trunk area. I recommend to use a gasket maker or seal around the hole to make sure fumes do not get into the vehicle.

Easy to install, good support, everything went smoothly

The trailer wiring kit was a cinch to hookup and perhaps the most difficult part for others may have been the removal of panel fasteners to gain access to the back of the left tail light. I had fooled around with that area previously so knew the drill and perhaps start-to-finish time was 1-hour maximum. None of the standard wires or connectors had to be cut or modified in any way so that was a joy and the best part was that all the trailer running lights, brake lights, and turn signals worked perfectly without any fiddling around!

by:
2004 Honda Accord

Very simple to use. The instruction leaflet supplied in the box is useless, but there are good videos out there and the connections are idiot-proof.

by:

Worked perfectly

Honda

I have wired many trailers in the last 40 years, having had some regrets regarding the manner in which I "skinned" wires in order to make connections. On the request of my wife, I purchased a "T-one" wiring harness for our 2006 Honda. Installation took all of 10 mins and the whole harness now hides nicely behind the trunk lining. No more "skinned" wires with black tape. The trailer hitch shop wanted $135 to put in a comparable harness. Novices shouldn't be afraid to "do it themselves".

The written instructions are a littel vague but when it came down to it the unit only would install one way so pretty straight forward. Works well.

2006 Honda Accord

Tried to follow installation video for 2006 Honda Accord as I have a 2005 Accord and no video was specific for my year...Unable to follow as the connectors did not line up..(eg. yellow to top socket)...Fortunately my son who never follows directions was able to install the trailer lights in minutes.....

by:

Talk about extremely easy! This is a must have (for any vehicle that needs to add a wire harness). In the past I would cut into wires, yes it's cheaper that way, but not as easy and elegant as this harness. Installs in just a minute. Also, etrailer.com shipped it very fast. Have to say it's a great site for towing needs - I'll be back for more accessories.

by:
Honda Accord

Awesome hitch. I use it regularly on back of my honda accord to carry my dirt bikes to motocross tracks

by:
2004 Honda Accord

The directions did not explain how to install this wiring harness very well. I went to a website that showed a video of how to plug the wiring harness into the existing tail light circuit and it worked great.

by:
2007 Honda Accord

A very competitive price and the installation went better than expected in the estimated time. I installed the 118302 wiring harness kit on a 2007 Honda Accord and was pleased with the ease of its installation though I had to view the instructional video again to find the third connector which was snuggly taped in place almost hiding it. Overall I am well pleased with etrailer and expecially their instruction videos and it was delivered before the stated time.
I'd like to thank everyone at etrailer for their excellent service. It is truly appreciated in a world that seems to be losing the meaning of "service".

by:

You don't really need to be mechanically inclined to install because it involves no hacking, just plug and play.
Pretty simple for the most part, been using for about a year now and no issues. Would purchase again in the event I get a new car with no harness.

by:
2007 Honda Accord

This could not have been any easier...I watched the quick video and in less than five minutes, it was done. I never realized how simple this wiring harness installation was to have working lights for my utility trailer.

by:
2007 Honda Accord

The wiring harness for my 07 Honda Accord EXL V-6 arrived quickly & installation went very well, as described. Much less expensive than to purchase at local auto supply stores/chains. Also, thank you for the excellent video on installation.

by:
2004 Honda Accord

Initially I picked up a generic harness from Lowes. After a look at the number of wires I'd be cutting & splicing (and hoping I was cutting and splicing correctly), I returned it and ordered this harness. The video was great, although his carpeting cooperated in staying out of the way a heck of a lot more readily than mine did. Despite that, the installation was extremely easy.

by:
2006 Honda Accord

I am an IT guy, not a mechanic and this was one of the easiest jobs to do on my car? It took me under an hour to fit the hitch and to connect the wiring. Everything is made to fit perfectly. No drilling of holes, just tightening of bolts.
Fantastic product.

by:
2004 Honda Accord

This wire harness and instructions are very easy to install, 15 minutes and its ready to use. Most of the time is spent being careful not to break the plastic rivets that hold the decorative trunk lining together.

by:

This harness is extremely easy to install and very good quality. It worked like it should and can recommend this and any other harness that etrailer sells.

by:
2008 Acura TSX

I installed this onto a 2008 TSX. It was a little difficult to get all the plugs lined up and plugged in in the small amount of space that Honda/Acura gives you, but this worked flawlessly the first time. No soldering, no cutting, even the ground wire has a place to attach without drilling any holes, as long as you use the driver's side.

by:
2005 Honda Accord

Although the included instructions were crap, the installation was fairly simple and straight forward after watching a couple of [online] videos. Time to install was approximately 30m with the most difficulty removing the rearmost trunk trim (broke a couple of clips in the process).

by:

After searching at local auto part stores I was relieved to find this product on etrailer.com. I was impressed at how easy it was to install! It literally took 10 minutes.
