  • Remote Mount

12-3/4" Wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep, remote cooler assembly features a high-efficiency, plate-and-fin heat-exchanger core with 500-CFM tornado fan for maximum airflow, ensuring optimum performance for your automatic transmission.

Features:

Specs:

  • Mounting dimensions: 4" tall x 11-5/8" wide
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

Great product, awesome price and very easy to install

  • Recommended Remote Mounted Transmission Cooler for 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with Supercharged Engine
Rather than a passive cooler like the # D13225, in order to get effective supplemental cooling for your transmission you'll really need a remote mount cooler with a fan. The # D13225 cooler you'd looked at would get very little air flow if mounted on your frame rail, and given the fact that you've obviously made some pretty serious upgrades to your engine you'll want something that's more effective as a passive cooler would be nearly useless. I'd recommend the Derale # D13950 which can...

  • Comparing Plate Fin Oil Cooler With Fan Remote Cooler For a 2011 Ford F-150 With 3.5L EcoBoost
Typically a Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13503 is all you are going to need to help keep your transmission cool when towing. A cooler with fan like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13950 is typically a better option if you are only towing in areas where you constantly deal with stop and go traffic. I would not worry about having braided lines as even the factory hoses on your 2011 Ford F-150 are not braided. You should also consider adding a...

  • Where is the Best Place to Install a Remote Transmission Cooler on a 2017 Nissan Armada
As far as functionality there isn't one place that is really better than another for the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a 2017 Nissan Armada. Basically anywhere there is space for it will be a good location. On modern vehicles space in the engine compartment can be at a premium though so you will want to check ahead of time prior to installing a cooler. This cooler is 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep overall. The width and height probably won't be...

  • Best Transmission Cooler for Off-Roading in a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser in Year-Round Warm Climate
The Class rating applied to transmission coolers is to help simplify choosing a cooler for a vehicle. Basically you would think about it in terms of a hitch class rating. So for example if your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser has a Class III hitch then a transmission cooler shown as a Class III is a good match. But ultimately you can use any cooler that fits in the intended mounting location. Derale transmission cooler # D13503 is a very popular option. It is a Class III but if you want something...

  • Reducing Transmission Heat While Towing With a 2012 GMC Sierra
Absolutely! The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, -6 AN Inlets - Class V part # D13950 is the perfect add on to bring those transmission temperatures down for you. It will install and work in conjunction with your original cooler and will have no adverse effects on the original one. This is simply going to help in addition to the original making for a cooler running system. This one is the one I would go with as the fan is going to do a better job at cooling than...

  • Can Heat Sink Cooler be Added to Vehicle That Already Has Two Coolers
While you can technically install the Derale 20" Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler # D13265 in your vehicle that already has an Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler like # D13950 and another aftermarket oil cooler, it is not recommended. Additionally, there should not be a need for additional cooling considering what you already have; if your transmission temperatures are still too high it may be a good idea to have the transmission loooked at.

  • Which Derale Remote Transmission Cooler for 2010 Chevy Silverado 4.8 Liter D13950 or D13960
Both the Derale transmission coolers you mentioned would work great installed on your 2010 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 liter V8. The part # D13960 is the more efficient style of cooler as it has a stacked plate whereas the # D13950 is a plate and fin cooler which is still really effective but not quite as effective as the stacked plate. Now both of these are easily more powerful than you'd need to get the job done so if you go with either you'll have very cool transmission fluid that will...

The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 is actually designed to mount away from the front of the vehicle it is being installed on, which in your case is a 2012 Jeep Liberty. Apart from that there are no specific spots this kit is meant to be mounted as it is a more universal application; it can be mounted anywhere else that you have space to fit its 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep dimensions. The transmission coolers that we carry are meant as supplemental coolers anyway so they will work great for what you want to do. The path of the fluid will start at the transmission, go to the factory cooler, then to the supplemental cooler, and then back to the transmission. For a remote cooler that includes the mounting hardware you can use # D13950. I have included a link to the installation details for you. I have also included a link to our FAQ article to the right on transmission...

  • Recommendation for a Supplemental Transmission Cooler for a 2007 Ford F-150 with 5.4 Liter Engine
Based on the information you have provided, which I greatly appreciate, a standard supplemental cooler should be sufficient for your needs. Ideally you want the transmission temperature to be no more than 200 degrees F. Mounting a larger cooler directly behind the grille (in front of everything else) such as # D13504 should get you to the ideal range. You will also want fitting # D13025 so you will not have to cut and flare any lines. A remote cooler with its own fan will provide the optimum...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2012 Chevy Silverado Towing 6,000 lb Boat
A transmission cooler is a really great idea for your Dad's truck as the temperature range you mentioned is too hot to allow a transmission to survive very long. I'd recommend the Derale part # D13504 as it's a plate fin cooler which is one of the most efficient styles and is larger at 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep so it's going to do a really great job reducing the temperatures to a much safer range. • Can I Replace Factory Cooler With Derale Transmission Cooler on 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan
It is possible to install the transmission cooler like Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13502 to bypass the factory cooler on the 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan however it is usually not recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. • What Is the Amp Draw of the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit D13950
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 will draw up to 4.8 amps. In regards to fluid capacity, this is not a figure that Derale provides. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.

The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter.
