Can I Replace Factory Cooler With Derale Transmission Cooler on 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
I have a leaking trans-cooler which is part of the ac condenser. Can I just bypass the stock cooler and use your aux cooler? I do not tow anything with this vehicle. Id rather not replace the condenser and then have to get the ac charged again if I can get away with just the aux cooler. Thank you

It is possible to install the transmission cooler like Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13502 to bypass the factory cooler on the 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan however it is usually not recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. If you decide to bypass the factory cooler, you would want to go with the largest aftermarket cooler possible that will fit to get efficient cooling. The largest cooler that fit's is the best option because after market coolers are designed to supplement factory coolers and not replace them.
I recommend the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan part # D13950 because it has it's own fan that offers 500 cubic feet per minute of air flow. You also mention you do not tow so the Derale cooler will work well for you. It measures 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep.
You would need to run the lines of your existing factory cooler to the new aftermarket cooler to bypass it. I have also attached a help article for your reference.
