Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

by:

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

  • Transmission Cooler Fit for a 1999 Ford Super Duty Towing a 36 ft Toy Hauler
When it comes to transmission coolers you will want to choose the largest and most efficient cooler that you have room for in your engine compartment. As long as you have room to install a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler, then it will work with your truck. These would be very good coolers for your application because they are high efficiency coolers with 500-CFM tornado fans. You will want to choose the correct transmission cooler for your vehicle based on the size of your...

  • Will a Remote Transmission Cooler Fit a 2005 Ford F-250 with 5.4 Liter
The great thing about the Derale remote transmission cooler # D13950 is that you can mount it where ever you have space. Since it has its own fan it does not have to be placed out in front of the motor. This will allow you to position it in the place with the most room and that does include areas outside of the engine compartment! The only stipulation you will want to follow is not to place it too low or to where the fan or fins are facing the ground because something could bounce up from...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2012 Chevy Silverado Towing 6,000 lb Boat
A transmission cooler is a really great idea for your Dad's truck as the temperature range you mentioned is too hot to allow a transmission to survive very long. I'd recommend the Derale part # D13504 as it's a plate fin cooler which is one of the most efficient styles and is larger at 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep so it's going to do a really great job reducing the temperatures to a much safer range. For an adapter to fit the truck's radiator to make the install of the cooler easy...

  • Recommended Electric Fan For Transmission Cooler On 2007 GMC Yukon XL 5.3L
We sure do! The correct fan will be dependent on the size of the transmission cooler installed on your 2007 GMC Yukon CL 5.3L. More than likely the Derale 8" Tornado Electric Fan - 500 CFM # D16508 would be close enough in size to work properly, and would give you the additional air flow you are wanting for the cooler. If you find your transmission cooler is less than 8" tall just let me know and I would be happy to recommend the correct fan for you. I included a video of the # D16508...

  • Where to Install the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a Truck
What's great about a remote cooler with a fan like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 that you referenced is that it can basically install wherever it will fit since the fan will provide all of the necessary airflow to cool the fluid. Here is what Derale says about mounting location for this cooler: The purpose of a remote mount cooler is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser....

The # D13950 Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan can be used in your 1969 Camaro with 5.7L Engine. I reached out to Derale and they confirmed this. This cooler is designed to be mounted anywhere. According to the installation manual, the purpose is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser. This cooler can be mounted anywhere space permits. Always keep in mind that the cooler still needs...

The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13503, will provide extra cooling to help keep your transmission at normal temperatures when towing. Whether or not any cooler will provide enough cooling depends on many factors specifically related to your vehicle and trailer setup. I did a bit of checking on the 2006 Nissan Titan towing capacities and found that the 2006 Titan is rated for somewhere between 9,200 lbs and 9,500 lbs Gross trailer weight, properly loaded...

  • What Is the Amp Draw of the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit D13950
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 will draw up to 4.8 amps. In regards to fluid capacity, this is not a figure that Derale provides. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.

  • Comparing Plate Fin Oil Cooler With Fan Remote Cooler For a 2011 Ford F-150 With 3.5L EcoBoost
Typically a Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13503 is all you are going to need to help keep your transmission cool when towing. A cooler with fan like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13950 is typically a better option if you are only towing in areas where you constantly deal with stop and go traffic. I would not worry about having braided lines as even the factory hoses on your 2011 Ford F-150 are not braided. You should also consider adding a...

  • Can a Transmission Cooler Bypass the Factory Cooler on a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder
A lot of people with Nissan vehicles are looking to bypass the factory cooler contained in the radiator like on your 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The coolers we carry are designed to supplement the factory cooler although some people have used them to replace the factory cooler. • BTU Rating of Detale D13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Mount Transmission Cooler
According to Derale, their # D13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Mount Transmission Cooler offers a 22,000 BTU/Hour Cooling Rating and would be a minimally adequate choice for a vehicle used on a drag strip, I'd recommend bumping up to a 46K unit such as the Derale Hyper-Cool # D15960. Drag racing is extremely hard on a transmission, it would make good sense to make the small investment to upgrade to the higher capacity cooler.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for Jeep Grand Cherokee that Does Low Speed Off-Roading
I would highly recommend a transmission cooler for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. • Best Transmission Cooler for Off-Roading in a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser in Year-Round Warm Climate
The Class rating applied to transmission coolers is to help simplify choosing a cooler for a vehicle. Basically you would think about it in terms of a hitch class rating. So for example if your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser has a Class III hitch then a transmission cooler shown as a Class III is a good match. But ultimately you can use any cooler that fits in the intended mounting location. Derale transmission cooler # D13503 is a very popular option. It is a Class III but if you want something...

  • Recommended Supplementary Transmission Cooler for 2004 Dodge Dakota
Transmission fluid temperature can rise quickly when towing, especially in warmer weather and when towing on uphill grades which naturally mean slower speeds and reduced air flow to your Dakota's cooling system. Supplementary coolers are a wise addition to a towing vehicle, and so too is keeping your transmission fluid fresh as you have done. Standard passive coolers like Derale # D13503 (along with hose fitting kit # D13030) can install in front of your AC condenser to give you more heat-radiating...
