No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

The transaction went great. Delivered on the time I was told good product

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

1995 FordF-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

Wrong Pollak product. needed Pollak 12-705 6-24 volts Female (truck)

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

Direct replacement for factory socket.

  • Trailer Brakes Only Work when Interior Light Switch is On on Horse Trailer
With trailer wiring, you can't make any assumptions. The wires have to be tested to determine the functions. An easy way to do this would be to use a separate 12 volt battery and apply power to each wire on the trailer and then see what turns on. Then wire up the trailer connector accordingly. There may be breakaway system that is wired in with the 12 volt circuit from the trailer connector so when the switch is off it basically closes off that circuit. That would explain why the brake...

  • Replacement 7-Way Vehicle Socket for 2005 GMC Sierra
The 7-way socket you referenced, Pollak # PK11893, connects to your vehicle with a round standard U.S. Car connector. This is an exact OEM replacement for the GMC Sierra. If you wish to have flexibility to connect to trailers that use a 4-pole flat connector you can instead consider one of the 4- and 7-way connectors shown on the link provided. These plug in to the truck in the same way but provide two connector options. Several include a length of wiring, such as Curt # HM40975, which...

  • Replacement 7-Way Trailer Connector for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
I actually recommend that you use the Hopkins connector, # HM40975, because it comes with a 7-Way and a 4-Way and also comes with a bracket. The connection at the back is made to fit the factory harness on a 2003 Chevy Silverado that came with a factory 7-Way. I have included a link to a video that shows a typical installation for you. If you want to go with a regular 7-Way use # PK11893 and bracket # PK12711U.

  • Both Turn Signals Blinking at the Same Time on Trailer Towed by 1999 Chevy Silverado
What you are experiencing is one of the classic symptoms of an insufficient ground connection. Check that the ground connection for the trailer connector on the truck is securely grounded to clean metal. If the connection point is corroded, disconnect the ground wire and clean the metal and re attach. Do the same with the ground connection on the camper. Typically the ground connection is located on the trailer tongue. Because the vast majority of trailers use the trailer frame to complete...

  • Troubleshooting Boat Trailer that Can't be Backed Up with New Truck
Sounds like your trailer has surge brakes that have an electric reverse lock out which is supposed to allow the trailer to be backed up, but since your new truck isn't activating the solenoid that tells me that the reverse light circuit of the trailer wiring isn't active. So what you can do is run a wire from the center pin of the 7-way to tapped into your vehicles reverse light circuit and it will work like it needs to.

To install a 7-Way wiring connector at the rear of your 2001 Chevrolet Silverado without a factory 7-Way or a factory 4-Way connector, I recommend using the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket and wiring harness, # HM40975-11998. The wires of the # 12-705 should wire up color for color to the # PK11932, and as long as take your time and use plenty of electrical tape to insulate the wires after you connect them you should not have to worry about damaging any components. For that you would need the part # PK11893. • Troubleshooting Right Side Trailer Lights Not Working, Left Side Working Correctly
Most trailer wiring problems are the result of a bad ground. What I would do is start with the connectors. Maker sure the connectors on both the trailer side and vehicle side are free of dirt and corrosion and that they are properly grounded. Next, I would move on to testing the vehicle side connector using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Since the right side is not working, you will want to test the pins of the connector for right turn and brake. If looking at the face of the connector,...

But you can also check the current grounds for the lights to make sure they are making a solid connection to a clean metal surface. What you described is the classic insufficient ground...

Part # 18138 is used to connect the 7-way to the bracket. Many times folks are tempted just to screw the bracket directly into the crossbar of the hitch. So you're needing a 7-pole round to 7-way RV (blade) style connector adapter, is that right? We don't have an adapter like that (due to the fact that the 7-way round pin connector is pretty rare these days), so the easiest thing to do would be to replace the existing 7-way round pin connector on your vehicle with a 7-way blade style connector like # PK11893 and a # PK11998 7-way pigtail.
