Do Changes Need to be Made to Switch From Prodigy RF Brake Controller to Standard
Question:
I recently changed towing vehicles. On my old truck I used the Prodigy RF control. My newer truck a 2008 F-350 has factory trailer brake controller. Of course my trailer has prodigy connection front of trailer. I want to use my trucks trailer brake controller. What changes would be needed for this work as now I get error message when connected trailer disconnected. I checked all connections, have the #7 pin connected from new truck and 12v power also on correct pin and I thank you in advance. All lights work as they should.

You should not have to make any changes to switch from the now-discontinued Prodigy RF brake controller to the factory brake controller on your 2008 Ford F-350. Of course you will not want to use the Prodigy RF's module on the front of your trailer, you will want to remove that and simply plug your trailer's 7-way into the 7-way on your 2008 Ford F-350, which will be the same plug as the Pollak Replacement 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket - Vehicle End # PK11893.
I have also added a link to a help article on troubleshooting brake controllers which I highly recommend checking out if you are continuing to have any issues.
