No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

by:
2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

1995 FordF-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

  • Replacement 7-way for 2018 Toyota Tundra with Factory Wiring
Curt offers a Replacement 7-Way connector # C55774 that will plug in to the round U.S. Car connector included in your factory tow wiring. This kit includes a 7-way socket and mounting bracket and it also includes a 4-pole connector as well. The part you referenced, Pollak 7-way # PK11893, is a socket only without harness (and without the 4-pole connection feature) that also uses the same U.S. Car connector shown in the included photo.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Light Fuse Blowing on Truck
I think you have it basically nailed down and the issue is that you have a short to ground on the trailer running light circuit on the right hand side of the trailer and would need to go over the wiring to see if you can find any cut or exposed wire and fix as needed. Sealing the exposed wire with electrical tape like part # PTW502 would be all you'd need.

I would start determining if the problem is on the trailer or the tow vehicle side of the wiring. You will need to use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 to test the functions of the trailer wiring harness on your tow vehicle. A video is included to show how this is done. While your testing the running light pin on your tow vehicle make sure the connector is clean and free of corrosion. Do the same for the trailer's connector. If the problem is on the tow vehicle then most likely...

If your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500HD has the harness with a round connector already ran to the wheel well area of your truck and all you need is a 7-way socket to attach to it you would only need the # PK11893. This will plug right into the harness and will provide you with the 7-way you need. If you only had the 7-way at the rear of your truck bumper you would instead need the # 41157 to install a 7-way in the truck bed. Then simply tap into those and install the Pacer Performance 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 using the two yellow wires.
