product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

No issues at all.

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

The transaction went great. Delivered on the time I was told good product

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

Perfect OEM quality!!!

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:
2015 Audi Q7

  • No Trailer Stop or Turn Lights On a 2011 Toyota Tundra
Have you checked the relays in addition to the fuses? If not then this would be the next thing I check. You can swap a relay out that you know is working for one that is not to do the above. I will say that the vast majority of cases with this issue will be attributed to a blown fuse so make sure to inspect the element inside the fuse carefully as it is not always obvious it is blown. Once this is done your next best option would be to trace the wires back while checking for breaks. If...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring of 2014 Ford F-250 Not Fully Functioning
The relays shouldn't be able to be installed 180 degrees out so I would not anticipate that being the issue. Did you also check the fuses related to those circuits as well? If that checks out too I'd anticipate it's the 7-way connector at fault which you should be able to fix by cleaning the pins of the 7-way with sandpaper or you could just replace it with part # PK11893.

  • Trailer Reverse Lights Not Working
A 7-way can sometimes be used as an auxiliary 12 volt source. Did you wire the 7-way yourself or did it come with the connector? If it came with the 7-way already on it I'm guessing that pin was not used for reverse lights so you may need to wire it to your truck's reverse lights. Also make sure the wire is properly seated in the connector and that wire isn't somehow damaged. You may need to use wire # 10-1-1 to replace or re-wire as needed.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Lights with 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500
You can test your Silverado's trailer connector, without a trailer hooked up, using a circuit tester like # PTW2992 or # PTW2993. Please see the linked video for how to use the tester. It is often easier to test these things separately. You can also test the trailer on its own by applying 12V power directly to the various circuit pins on the 7-way plug. The linked photos show you which pins carry which signals, for both the truck and trailer 7-way type of wiring. Since the trailer brake...

  • Trailer Left Side Running Lights are Dim
If it is only the running light on the left side that is dim then the most likely issue is still a weak ground. You may need to run a jumper ground from that tail light assembly to another location. This is especially true if there is a license plate bracket between the tail light assembly and the trailer frame. When you are testing the light are you doing so with the trailer coupled to the ball? If not, and you do try it with the trailer coupled to the ball and it starts working fine...

We have a diagram with the common wire colors but that doesn't mean that they will be the same for your application. It isn't a requirement to have certain functions as certain colors so there can be differences. The best way to ensure that you connect your 7-Way, like part # PK11893, to the correct functions is by testing your wiring with a circuit tester # PTW2992 and verifying that they match up with the attached photo (which is the most common 7-Way configuration).

The signal for the brake controller on your 2018 Chevy Express 3500 don't use a traditional stop light switch so you will need to pick up the signal from the Body Control Module (BCM) or via the underhood fuse box. • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring of Truck that Stopped Working After Year of Not Towing
Sounds like the trailer wiring on your truck has some shorts between circuits and needs to be inspected. It's possible during the year the truck didn't tow something damaged the wiring. Typically it's corrosion that develops on the pins of the connectors or the wiring which will cause circuits to quit working so I'd check for that first and clean as needed. It's very common for GM vehicles made around the time as your 2005 Chevy Suburban to have brake controller issues related to the third brake light fuse of the vehicle. The third brake light fuse of the vehicle is very easy to blow and when it goes out it also prevents brake controllers from working too since that same circuit is tied to the stoplight circuit.
