You can test your Silverado's trailer connector, without a trailer hooked up, using a circuit tester like # PTW2992 or # PTW2993. Please see the linked video for how to use the tester. It is often easier to test these things separately. You can also test the trailer on its own by applying 12V power directly to the various circuit pins on the 7-way plug.

The linked photos show you which pins carry which signals, for both the truck and trailer 7-way type of wiring.

Since the trailer brake lights work with another truck, chances are that your truck has the issue. First, inspect the truck's trailer connector for signs of trapped water, dirt or other foreign material and for corrosion. Sometimes a contact can become oxidized, and it will no longer transmit signals.
There can also be corrosion that can build up INSIDE the connector housing or in the vehicle plug that connects to the back of the 7-way socket.

It is easiest to have a helper sit in the truck and activate each light function one at a time while you apply the grounded tester's probe to the appropriate pin for each function (according to the linked photos).

Oxidation and corrosion can be removed with a spray-on aerosol electrical contact cleaner such as Caig De-Oxit or a similar product you can find at a local hardware or electronic supply store. Don't use a wire brush since it is possible for bristles to come loose from the brush and cause new problems.

If you find you need a new 7-way truck socket you can use an item like 7-way # PK11893 or 4-pole/7-way # HM40975-11998 which includes a harness, you can splice to your existing wiring.
