On the previous generation of Chevy and GMC trucks locating the dedicated brake light circuit was easy because it was packaged under the dash. But for the 2014 model year that wire bundle is no longer present.

So, the easiest way to get the dedicated brake light only circuit is to use the vehicle owner's manual and locate the CHMSL fuse and tap into it there.

Another possibility is to call a local place that sells and installs camper shells on trucks. If there is a closer wire under the truck that you can tap into, they will likely know where it is. It has historically been an orange wire but any wires you do find you should test first using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. You want the wire that only has power with the brake pedal and not with the headlights or turn signals on.
