How to Replace the USCAR Connector on a Trailer Wiring Harness
Question:
2003 Ford F150 - ive installed this quite a while ago and recently had some pretty decent damage to the vehicle plug and the harness plug. Rather than replace the entire harness id like to remove the end plug and wire in a new one. Whats the pin out for this does it follow the RV Standard color code for NA? Thanks

In order to determine the correct function of the wires that are included with the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness part # 118242 you are going to want to plug the harness into the vehicle and have a friend sit in the cab and operate the signals while you are testing them with a circuit tester like part # ALL640595. It does not appear that the wires leading into the USCAR connector follow the RV standard 7-way wiring colors exactly.
In order to replace the USCAR connector and 7-way trailer connector you can use a combination of part # PK11998 and part # PK11893 or just part # PK12-707E. The first option allows you to switch out the 7-way connector more easily whereas the second option is more permanent but either will work well for you.
