Castle Rock Radials

Castle Rock Tread Close-Up

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the tread on these Castle Rock radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Castle Rock tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Castle Rock radials are constructed with double steel belts and double nylon cords. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Had a blowout while driving my enclosed trailer and this tire is the Perfect replacement tire

by:

It was super easy to find what I was looking for, and the fast free shipping was wonderful. The video review gives you peace of mind that you are ordering the right products. Thank you for making my shopping experience so enjoyable!

by:

Ordering process went smoothly.
Got
the tire to replace existing spare tire for enclosed trailer.

by:

Well this order is a replacement for the original tire with less than 5000 miles on it that has a busted band so that is why I cannot give it a top rating. I ordered this tire to match treads of my other tires.

by:

Arrived early and in good conditions.

by:

You have excellent customer service! You just don’t see that anymore. Tire came in 3 days with great email communication!

by:

Fast shipping and great packaging.

by:

I needed a tire that matched the others already on my trailer. None of my local shops had it. This was an exact match. The price was competitive and the shipping was fast. Never have any complaints when I purchase from Etrailer.

by:

Very efficient and prompt service. Easy to place order

by:

I bought this tire to replace exactly the one that was on the trailer. I've found different manufacturers tires are not exactly the same size even though the numbers match. I had one tire on my dump trailer locking up when I applied the brakes. It was a different manufacturer and when comparing it was actually about a 1/2" smaller height wise. This is the exact tire that the rest of the tires on my trailer are and it has been working great. It is just a tire. Not to much t report on.

by:

New tire delivered promptly and great p rice.

by:

exactly what i ordered,great service

by:

Matched others tires perfectly.
Very
quick delivery.

by:

Thank you. Very fast service!

by:

etrailer was the only place I could find to order a tire that matched the other three tires on my RV. Ordering was easy and the tire was delivered when they said it would be. The tire was delivered in a cardboard box with handles making it easy to move around. If I ever need another tire I would definitely use etrailer.com again.

  • Recommended 235/80-16 Load Range E Tires for 5th Wheel
A ST265/80-16 Load Range E tire like the Lionshead Castle Rock # LHCK401 would have a 3520 lb per tire capacity, for 4 tires that would be 14080 lbs which is plenty to more than cover the 12190 GVWR of your Forest River Salem Hemisphere. This tire includes 2 years of roadside assistance. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United...

  • Shorter Replacement for 235/85-16 Trailer Tire
We do have trailer tires that are slightly shorter than your current LT (or light truck) tire which is size 235/85R16. Those tires, such as the Westlake ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire # LHWL410 measure 31.7 inches in diameter when inflated. They have a 4,400 lb capacity, and I imagine your trailer is a tandem axle so we have an option that will work for you. I recommend a ST235/80-16 trailer tire with a load range E rating. This will give you a tire that measures about an inch less in...

  • Replacement 225/75R16 Tires Needed for a Horse Trailer
As we do not currently carry any 225/75R16 tires, the closest I can suggest is the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # LHCK401. This will have a maximum load capacity of 3,520 pounds at 80 psi and has a L speed rating, or 75 miles per hour. This also has a 5-Year warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years available 24/7 anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. However, this will be slightly larger than your current 225/75R16...

  • Valve Stem Ratting of the Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel Part TA97VR
The valve stem that comes with the Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel part # TA97VR is rated for 80 psi so you can mount the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire part # LHCK401 to this and run it at full capacity without a different valve stem.

  • How to Determine if a Tire is Compatible With a Rim
The tire needs to fit the diameter and width of the rim, which for the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20750 is 16" diameter and 6" wide. I looked up the tire you mentioned and while it will fit the diameter of the Dexstar # AM20750 there was no information about the wheel width it needed. For a ST235/80R16 tire that will fit a 16" x 6" wheel a great option is the Castle Rock Radial Tire # LHCK401; this is a load range E tire with a maximum capacity of 3,520 lbs at 80 psi.

  • Will Aluminum Bobcat Trailer Wheel # LHSO513B Fit Lakota Bighorn Horse Trailer
Your Lakota Bighorn uses the very standard 8 bolt pattern of 8 on 6-1/2 inch so the Aluminum Bobcat Trailer Wheel # LHSO513B that you referenced would fit and work well. This will also work great with the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E Item # LHCK401 if you needed a replacement for the Good year tire that you currently have.

  • Spare Wheel & Tire For a Utility Trailer With 235/80R16 Load Range E and 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern
I recommend the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Silver Mod Wheel # LHACK133 as a spare. This will include the Wheel # MX59FR you are looking at with a Tire # LHCK401 already mounted. The reason you see so many different weights is so they work in multiple applications. You will want to not exceed the weight from the trailer manufacturer decal on your trailer. The Wheel # MX59FR is rated for up to 4,460lbs as it can work with larger and higher ply rated tires. • Upgrading to Larger Tires and Wheels on a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS
Replacing the 15 inch wheels on your 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS with 16 inch wheels will depend on how much room you have in the wheel wells. There needs to be at least 3 inches of clearance between the top of the wheel and the bottom of the fender to make sure they do not come in contact with each other. You also want around 1-1/2 inches from the back of the tire to the side of the frame, but this doesn't need to be exact. The standard ST225/75R15 Radial Tire will have an overall diameter...

It's black in color. Don't forget the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem part # AM20906.
