Spare Wheel & Tire For a Utility Trailer With 235/80R16 Load Range E and 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern

Question:

I see different weight ratings on these rims. Not sure what the correct one is and how it relates to the trailer and axle weights. I have up loaded the trailer specs and a picture of the wheel. I have been looking at your vesper rim. This rim will be for a spare. Also do you have spare mounts for a utility trailer

I recommend the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Silver Mod Wheel # LHACK133 as a spare. This will include the Wheel # MX59FR you are looking at with a Tire # LHCK401 already mounted. The reason you see so many different weights is so they work in multiple applications. You will want to not exceed the weight from the trailer manufacturer decal on your trailer.

The Wheel # MX59FR is rated for up to 4,460lbs as it can work with larger and higher ply rated tires. The Tire # LHCK401 having the 3,520lb rating is closet to your axle rating for 7,000lbs to provide the most deflection while still being strong enough to support the weight.

For a spare tire carrier there are several options. If your utility trailer has stake pockets the Carrier # SPTC will fit into a 2"x4" pocket. The Demco Spare Tire Carrier # DM15853-52 while being designed for a jack mount will also allow you to mount it to the front of your trailer in the A-Frame.
