Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

1-Year No Excuses Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.

Steel Lug Nut Inserts

Lionshead Aluminum Wheels with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Great, as a spare.

First time using etrailer but I was extremely impressed with the outstanding customer service and fast shipping! My wife inherited her late grandfather's custom built Ford pickup trailer that he made in 1971, but the tires were completely shot as well as being an obsolete tire/wheel size.

Kate F. at eTrailer helped us select the proper size wheels and tires for the 3/4 ton axle, and we bought all 3 (two for the axle, one for the spare). Despite us being located over 1,000 miles away, we had the tires and wheels at our door in THREE business days.

Amazing service and the trailer hasn't looked this good in many, many years. My wife is over the moon as we now have something that her grandfather built still in use in the family, and etrailer was a big part in keeping it on the road.

Thanks etrailer!

  • Can Westlake ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire & Wheel Replace 16x6J Wheel
You can replace a 16 x 6J wheel with a 16 x 6 wheel, as the J is just the wheel bead seat pattern, or the shape of the wheel where the tire sits. So it won't affect the fit whatsoever, and the Westlake you asked about will work superbly; the correct part number is the following: - Westlake ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" Silver Mod Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 - Load Range E # LHAW133 The # LHAW133 is a really nice choice as I'm partial to Westlake due to their deep 10/32" tread depth, which...

  • 235/80-16 Trailer Tire Mounted to 16 x 6 Silver Mod Wheel with 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern
Unfortunately, we don't offer the Kenda # AM10248 235/80R16 tire mounted on a # AM20794 Dexstar 16x6 steel mod wheel, but you can purchase the wheel and tire separately and have them mounted locally at your favorite tire shop. As an option, we do offer a Westlake 235/80-16 radial tire mounted to a 16 x 6 sliver mod wheel with an 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern as part # LHAW133.

  • Can ST235/80R16 Tires Be Installed In Place Of 8.75r16.5LT On RV Motorhome?
The ST235/80R16 Wheel and Tire # LHAW133 is only for trailer use. While you can use some light truck tires on a trailer, trailer tires should never be installed on a vehicle as they are not constructed to be used on a vehicle. You will also need vehicle rated wheels as we only carry trailer rated wheels.

  • Can 225/75R15 Tire Be Used As Spare For 235/80R16 Tire On Trailer?
You need to use the same size. Sometimes when the sizes are really close you can get away with using a different size, but an over 2-1/2" difference is massive and you'll need to purchase something like the # LHAW133. This is a 235/80R16 load range E tire with a 16" wheel with the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. If you need a spare tire carrier as well just let me know what kind of trailer you have (car trailer, enclosed trailer, camper etc) and I'd be happy to help find the best option for you.

  • Replacement ST235/80R16 Tires With Higher Load Capacity For 7,000 Lb Axles
It is not a good idea to go down in load capacity when it comes to tires. I recommend a higher capacity Westlake 235/80-16 tire and wheel combination part # LHAW133 with a 3,520-lb max load at 80 psi. The Westlake tire will at least match your axle capacity and is very comparable to the Goodyear quality. The Westlake tires also come with roadside assistance which is not provided with the Goodyear tire. The Westlake ST235/80R16 tire can be purchased without the wheel with part # LHWL401.

  • Recommended Trailer Tire PSI For Best Tire Function
The psi max is when the tire is inflated cold. As you drive and as ambient temps change the psi will increase, but the manufacturer accounts for that change in their psi recommendations. You want to inflate to the max psi prior to your trip to give you the rated load capacity as well as the best traction. Adjusting that can cause your tires to not function as intended and overheat which is the leading cause of failure. So the # LHAW133 you asked this from would be 80 psi inflated cold.
