Maintaining a functioning lighting system for your boat trailer is required by law. Make your life simpler by installing lights that you can trust be to be submerged regularly. The housing and lens of this light are sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light to damage the diode or circuit board. Also, a special urethane potting is used to encapsulate the circuit board, further ensuring protection from moisture and dust.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light on either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. Rather than buying side marker and clearance lights separately, you can mount this single, PC-rated light at a 45-degree angle on the front corner of your trailer to act as both.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this recessed mount mini amber LED side marker and clearance boat trailer light. This waterproof mini LED amber light can function as both a front side marker and clearance light for your trailer when it's properly mounted. And as you can see, I have this connected to power already and it lights up this single premium LED, and this LED is energy efficient, long lasting and vibration resistant, and it is rated for up to 100,000 hours of operation. So, you can see how bright it is with my bright studio lights on. Let me go ahead and turn those lights off and just shine it on my table and give you a better idea of what this is going to look like in the dark. And I'm gonna go for a wide view and just shine this up on the wall behind me.
So, hopefully that gives you an idea of what this is going to look like, especially at a distance in the dark. And this is a PC rated light, which means it uses, it produces rather, a 90 degree angle of light to either side of its center line for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. The beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. So, rather than buying side marker or clearance light separately, you can mount this single PC rated light at a 45 degree angle on the corner of your trailer to act as both. Now, this is a durable UV resistant clear lens over an amber LED in a sealed waterproof housing lens unit.
The waterproof construction makes this light ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like your boat trailer. Also, a special urethane potting is used to encapsulate the circuit board, further ensuring protection from moisture and dust. This has an IP rating of 68, and again, this is a recessed mount installation with the included grommet and it does require a three quarter of an inch diameter cutout. Let me pull my ruler out here and just give you some overall dimension. So, beginning with that diameter, we are sitting right at right at an inch.
I have that lined up. And then, looking at the thickness, we're sitting right at about seven, eight, seventh inch thick. And this wire length, while we're here, we are sitting right at about 11, almost 11 and a half inches, as you can see there. So, this is going to be compatible with your 12 volt DC system and it's going to hardwire into your application, and the input voltage is nine to 14 volts. It has a power draw of 0.03 to 0.06 amps.

a fun little project, I put new tail lights on my trailer and found out I had one bad wire , so I pulled new wires and added these onto my Roller guides , look really nice!
These LEDs are an exact match for my SportTrail trailer (custom for a 26' center console). They are MUCH cheaper to purchase from here than direct from SportTrail.

These mounted cleanly in the fenders with in the provided rubber grommets, making them nearly flush with the surface, yet has 180 degrees of light. I wired them into the existing running lights and are BRIGHT, day and especially at night! Now, I can see the where the trailer is when backing. Submersible too, which is a terrific bonus. I discovered that unlike most LED lamps I've used, these must be connected black to positive and white to ground. I did not find this small detail in the description, or the video which shows connecting to two alligator clips which were both black. This needs to be clearer, but overall, ETrailer has done it again, with items we need to keep things usable and safe.
I am happy with how fast it was delivered. But the packing worried me. The small plastic lights were just tossed into the box along with the very heavy trailer hitch. The edge of the box was torn. The heavy metal hitch could have very easily crushed the plastic items. Maybe those could have been placed inside a rolled up paper bag.
But lucking out there was no breakage.
I will review after I install. But I like it. The led light wires are big enough to splice onto other wires.
