Maintaining a functioning lighting system for your boat trailer is required by law. Make your life simpler by installing lights that you can trust be to be submerged regularly. The housing and lens of this light are sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light to damage the diode or circuit board. Also, a special urethane potting is used to encapsulate the circuit board, further ensuring protection from moisture and dust.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light on either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. Rather than buying side marker and clearance lights separately, you can mount this single, PC-rated light at a 45-degree angle on the front corner of your trailer to act as both.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this TecNiq recessed mount, mini amber LED, side marker trailer light. Now, this is a nice, small, round LED light that'll serve as a side marker and clearance light for your trailer. It's in a nice sealed waterproof housing and lens unit, and it is IP 68 rated. Does offer military-grade construction of the circuit board, and it uses urethane potting, which offers better protection than the common epoxy potty.
The LED is a premium LED. It is energy efficient, long-lasting and vibration resistant. It is rated for up to 100,000 hours of operation. The lens is a durable UV resistant lens, and it is an amber lens over one amber LED. Now, this is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.
It is a recessed mount installation. Comes with the included grommet for installation, and it will require a 3/4 inch diameter cut-out for this to install in. Now, you can add a stainless steel trim ring for a nice finished look if you'd prefer. We do sell them separately on our website and they're listed on this product page as a related product. This is a two wire harness which will hardwire to your application.
It includes a white ground wire and a black power wire. Total wire length on this is about 18 inches. It is a PC-rated light, so it will produce 180 degree beam when properly installed. And this does meet or exceed the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety 108 Standards. Now, I'm gonna hook this up to some power to show you how bright the light is.
First, I wanna give you dimensions on it. The diameter of it is right at one inch. The depth of it, front to back is right at 7/8 of an inch. Input voltage, nine volts to 14 volts. And the power draw is only .03 to .06 amps. So, we're gonna go ahead and hook up our ground wire and then we'll hook up our power wire. And you can see once it's hooked up and the power's on, it gives you a nice amber light. We'll go ahead and turn off our, and it's a single LED over, with an amber lens over it. So, you can see it gives off a very bright amber light. And I'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights then turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this TecNiq recessed mount, mini amber LED, side marker trailer light..

PC rated. 18" Long pigtail.These LEDs are an exact match for my SportTrail trailer (custom for a 26' center console). They are MUCH cheaper to purchase from here than direct from SportTrail.

a fun little project, I put new tail lights on my trailer and found out I had one bad wire , so I pulled new wires and added these onto my Roller guides , look really nice!

These mounted cleanly in the fenders with in the provided rubber grommets, making them nearly flush with the surface, yet has 180 degrees of light. I wired them into the existing running lights and are BRIGHT, day and especially at night! Now, I can see the where the trailer is when backing. Submersible too, which is a terrific bonus. I discovered that unlike most LED lamps I've used, these must be connected black to positive and white to ground. I did not find this small detail in the description, or the video which shows connecting to two alligator clips which were both black. This needs to be clearer, but overall, ETrailer has done it again, with items we need to keep things usable and safe.
I am happy with how fast it was delivered. But the packing worried me. The small plastic lights were just tossed into the box along with the very heavy trailer hitch. The edge of the box was torn. The heavy metal hitch could have very easily crushed the plastic items. Maybe those could have been placed inside a rolled up paper bag.
But lucking out there was no breakage.
I will review after I install. But I like it. The led light wires are big enough to splice onto other wires.
