PC-Rated Lights
A PC-rated light produces a 90-dgree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side maker light.
Recessed-Mount Light
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Piranha LED trailer clearance and side marker light with the rubber grommet and the amber lens. Now, this is a nice small trailer light, which will function as both a clearance and a side marker light when it's properly mounted. This is a Piranha series, which combines a modern design with fiber and LED lighting for a nice unique look. The LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights, though.
They're rated for up to about a hundred thousand hours of operation. The LEDs are more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And of course, no bulbs to replace no brittle filaments to break. This is a nice durable plastic base with an acrylic lens. It is an amber lens over one amber LED, and this is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.It has a recessed Mount design.
You can see it comes with the included rubber grommet for installation, and it is a two wire pigtail has the black power lead and the white ground wire. And you can see they use the bullet connectors. Now at the end of this video, I am going to hook this up to some 12 volt power. Just to show you how bright the light is.It is a PC rated light, does produce 180 degree beam pattern. And this light is made in the USA.
Few specs on this overall dimensions, the diameter of just the light, it's going to be run at three quarters of an inch. The depth of the light is about 13/16 of an inch. Now power draw on this at 12 volts is about 0.07 amps, and the operating voltage is 8 volts to 16 volts.What we're going to do now is go ahead and hook up our power, hook up our white to the ground. Hook up our black to the power. And then with that on we'll go ahead and turn our light on and you can see there's your bright LED light.
We'll go ahead and turn off our overhead light. And you can see how bright the light is, and you'll also be able to see, we mentioned it's a PC rated light. It means it's produced 180 degree beam pattern. You can sort of see how that gives off the 180 degree pattern.Go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights, turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Piranha LED trailer clearance and side marker light with the grommet and the amber lens.

Not sure its anyones fault but the LED marker lights on my trailer fasten to the wall with screws and today that style is not made as it was in 2017...So i am rating the lights "average" cause till i open the light up without busting it I got to make it work and your lights are just the same as the rest...lights look fine and i will let you know how it works out...

Exact replacement for my trailer. The factory incandescent bulbs had faded and connections were failing. With a quick inspection with a multi meter I found that all the lamp bases checked out.
I installed this Amber and Red marker lamps through out the whole trailer. I now “glow” going down the road at night. I highly recommend these replacement lamps.

Replaced poorly designed lights on a travel trailer with these. The original lamps were not weather proof and used tensioned contacts that were prone to oxidation and corrosion from the elements. These LED lamps are sealed in epoxy so the elements will not affect them. Each lamp has two LEDs and a 6" wiring pigtail.

Purchased these side marker lights specifically because they have two wires rather than just a positive wire and the ground attached to the mounting grommet.
Lights were easy to mount and with rubber gasket they are protected from vibration.
