Optronics ST17 Series Combination Tail Light Dimensions

Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.

Combination Lights for Trailers Over 80" Wide

Flatbed trailer over 80" wide with combination tail lights

If a trailer is 80" or wider at its widest point, then it requires rear clearance lights in addition to basic trailer lights. These clearance lights indicate the width of the trailer when it is viewed from the back.

To meet these requirements on a flatbed utility trailer where the bed extends past the wheels, you can install combination trailer lights that include the rear clearance function. For proper mounting, the lights must be installed at the widest points on the rear of the trailer - one on each corner.

Very good tail light and product! Testet it before installing it and it worked! After installing it, check my turn signals, hazard signals, and breaks and completely solved my issue, that way, when I'm coming back, especially after dark, I avoid getting a ticket! Very good and satisfied with this product and etrailer customer service, will purchase from here again in the future if needed! Thank you etrailer service for a good working light for my trailer and got a fair deal!

Excellent product!

Great company, the customer service is outstanding. Lights were perfect and easy to install. Thank you!

by:

Good tires and rims at a good price.

Carol C!! Very disappointed!! No nuts and bolts ho attach to trailer!! Had to cut off old ones so have none!! Also I m pretty sure when I went on line to inspected viewer and order there was a 2 plug in harness on wires which I wanted to continue water proof wire protection.?? Unhappy with product!!

by:

Fast shipping, part arrived as predicted. The lights fit the application perfect. Great ordering experience, customer rep was very friendly and helpful. Definatly reccomend order from etrailer. *

by:

The two trailer lights came in and work but were not the exact same. Both were the same size but one light was only half as bright as the other and one had a window at the bottom to light up the road below it and the other one didn't. You should make sure both are exactly the same model.

You mentioned that one light was brighter than the other and I had a question that I wanted to ask. Is one light brighter than the other on a specific function? I recommend checking the grounds on the lights and the wiring as that may be affecting it. If that does not help, please contact us. You also mentioned that one light has the clear light at the bottom. This light is meant to illuminate the license plate and this is why is it not included with the passenger side light.

I had to replace my boat trailer lights on my 1995 Sea Ray boat trailer. These were the perfect replacement lights for the matching of the existing ones. The mounting holes lined up perfect, no drilling required, just remove the old and install the new.
It took more time to connect the wires on each side than to mount the new lights.
etrailer had these to me in three days, and there were exactly as described and many choices to pick from. I don't use the boat all that much, If it were newer and I used the boat more I would have went with the LED model. Again and as usual etrailer was top shelf on the shipping and the price!! Thanks folks, I'll be back again.

by:

I just saw this the other day. Still making the kind of light it should when it should. Easy install and still works after all this time.

by:

George J was very helpful suggesting an alternative to our order, since what we had ordered was not available for a while. Instead, we got what we needed very fast. Thank you George.

by:

You sent the wrong light. there was a note taped to the light with item st17rb
but it was not for the driver side but the passenger left side. I can tell by the bolt slot would be up side down to use on the right side of the trailer. on the left side the slots are right side up and the side reflector is located on the outside of the trailer. if i did the slots up on the driver side the reflectors are on the inside of the trailer. Also i didn't receive any nuts or screws with this order. the light did not come in any other box than what it was shipped in. it looked like it was a return item on a shelf and someone put
an hank written item number on it not knowing if it was a left or right side light. i'm keeping it in case i need it for one day for the left side. i'm not order another from you folks. i'll look else where in a shop to be sure i get the correct light i need.

Great service by Carol of etrailers. Product is exactly what was needed.

I spoke to Noah about a rear trailer light to replace one destroyed by debris on the highway. The trailer was 12 years old but Noah found the replacement for the light that was laid to waste. This gentleman is patient and worked to satisfy my purchase situation.

by:

Accidently crushed one of my boat trailer lights, so ordered a new one from etrailer.com When I received it. it looked strange as the lens on the right one looked different than the left on the original pair. I initially was skeptical that it would work but after installation it worked fine. A note..the trailer is from 2005-2007 so the design my optronics may have changed. Having said all that. I would never order anything for my trailers except from etrailer.com. The folks there are great. The best thing is that almost anything you order, there is a video to tell you how to install it...what to look out for when installing...a lot better than having to guess or at best find a relevant YouTube video....

Exact type of part needed to replace broken light...without purchasing set

by:

Wow this is the most amazing company I have ever dealt with on line. I ordered 2 tail light fixtures for my boat trailer and I needed them quickly so I paid the 2 day shipping fee and I didn't receive them for like 6 days. So I told them I thought I should get a refund on the freight, oh and bye the way the fixtures were perfect and exactaly what I had ordered. This sweet lady said she would refund me the difference between regular shipping and my 2 day shipping and she did. As it ended up I got them soon enough that I got the trailer ready to roll when I was supposed too afterall. So will tell everyone I know to shop etrailer for any thing they need if they like being treated great. THANKS AGAIN ETRAILER

by:

The tail light was an exact replacement for the original light and I received it in just a few days. It has worked as good as new since with no problems. I appreciate the follow-up too.

Trailer lights still working well. Like them a lot just what I needed. Thank you.

Does not match the other tail light I ordered. Had been opened before, was dirty and missing bolts to attach to the trailer

Etrailer Expert

6/27/2022

You are correct, the two lights you had ordered do not match. For the drivers side light to go along with the part # STL14RB that you ordered you would want the part # STL15RB. This is the matching light you are looking for.

by:

Installed easily in place of the old lights and wiring was simple. Will come back If I have occasion to need trailer lights again.

by:

i had a right light(itemst16rb) and i needed a left one (item st16rb)
i am putting tail brake and turn lights on a rack that fits into a 2in.
trailer hitch on my yukon thought it was a good idea
the right lite was one i purchased in 1993. i tried localy with no luck to
find a match for a left lite had no problem ordering one from E TRAILER

by:

Very similar to the original trailer light and lens. Unit came with wires only, no three wire plug. Had to wire old plug on to the new unit to use with the trailer.

by:

Old trailer was a 1997 and customer service rep was able to determine the proper replacement unit which works perfectly. We could not be more satisfied. Thanks for your excellent service

  • Driver and Passenger Side 3-Wire Submersible Incandescent Trailer Tail Lights
We do have an option for you, though the matching driver's side of the Aero Pro Trailer Tail Light - Submersible - Passenger Side ST66RPG has been discontinued and is no longer available. What I highly recommend instead is the Optronics Trailer Tail Light - Driver Side # ST17RB and Passenger Side # ST16RB because these are 3-wire, submersible, incandescent lights like the ones you asked about so they will work as perfect replacements. Since these are 3-wire lights you can easily splice...
