Today, we're going to take a look at the Optronics submersible red thin line LED trailer clearance or side marker light. Now this is a rectangular LED trailer light. It functions as a clearance light or a side marker light when it's properly mounted. It is a thin line series has a nice low profile so that the light can fit into tight spaces. It is sonically sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit is submersible, and it uses a durable polycarbonate housing and lens. The red lens over white LEDs.

These LEDs will make great replacements for incandescent lights because they'll last 50 times longer and they're more efficient. They'll provide brighter light with less power output, and of course, no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments to break.Now, this light is compatible with 12-volt DC electrical systems. It is a surface-mount design. It mounts to the trailer using a mounting bracket, which we do sell separately. It's part number BK66DB.

This is a two-wire design and includes the power lead and the ground wires. You can see they have the bullet connectors on each end, and this is non-polarized, even though the wires are white and black it's non-polarized so you could hook it up to either positive or negative.I am going to hook this up at the end of the video just to show you how bright it is. This light is DOT, Department of Transportation, compliant and it is P2 rated. It does use six LEDs. The power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.057 amps, and they do offer a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.I first want to give you some measurements.

If we measure the overall length of this light, it's going to be right at four inches long. The height of it is right at seven-eighths of an inch tall, and the depth from the light is one and three- sixteenths of an inch deep. Now the mounting holes, there's two of them here, and center to center measurement is three inches. You can see the lights when you do surface mount this, they have cutouts there that the wires will go on there so it'll give you a surface-mount design. There's two cutouts for the wires.What I'm going to do now is we're going to hook up the 12-volt power so you can see I'm going to take the white wire and hook it to the black, and the black to the red.

When we'll go ahead and turn on our power and you can see there's your bright light. We'll go ahead and turn off the overhead and you can see there's six LEDs in there that light up, give you a nice clearance light or side marker light.Then what I'm going to do is just show you I'm going to reverse it. We'll put the red on the white and the black on the black, and you can see it still lights up. It doesn't matter, it's non-polarized so it doesn't matter which positive or negative is hooked up.
