How To Convert Old Trailer To 7 Way Wiring.
Question:
The trailer is converted for kayaks. I am adding new LED brake lights and side marker lights. I would also like to add scene lights for early morning and night time to see better to set up the kayaks. I think converting to 7 pin so it matches my Ford and will also allow a constant power lead for the scene lights. What do you recommend? Do I need to add a battery to the trailer for the scene lighting? Rather not. Thanks

You can convert your trailer with the Hopkins 7-Way RV Style Connector with Molded Cable # H20046.
As far as lighting we also have the Optronics LED RV Exterior Scene Light that is submersible # UCL41CB. The Optronics LED Trailer Tail Light that is stop, turn, and tail. Also submersible # STL78RB. Then I would suggest the Clearance or Side Marker Trailer Light w/ Reflex Reflector # MC35AEB.
You could always add a battery for backup and to lessen the pull on your tow vehicle but I do not think it will be needed.
