Recommended Slipper Spring Suspension for 10,000 Pound Trailer
For Slipper Springs to install on your trailer that will have a maximum load of around 10,000 pounds, I recommend either the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000 pound Axles # e67SR or the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring for 5,000 Pound Axles # SP-231275, depending on the actual axle capacity for your trailer. Using Hanger Replacement Kit # AP216-H202 to Replace Similar Kit with Shorter Front Hangers
The Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs # AP216-H202 has all of the components at the proper dimensions to allow it to have the suspension sit as level as possible and perform at it's best. This kit will function well to replace what you have. Most likely your current front hangers are not ideal and this kit would allow your suspension to perform just as well if not better.

The hanger spacing for a tandem axle trailer suspension setup can be determined, but you need to take into account the axle spacing needed for the overall diameter of your wheel and tire combination and the springs you will be using. Why Do Some Slipper Spring Hangers have a Bar Across the Middle and Others Do Not
A slipper spring hanger that doesn't have the bar that goes across would generally be for the end of a slipper spring that has the eye. Hangers that do have that bar are generally for the slipper end. And in some cases you would use a bolt through a hanger if that hanger needed to be used on the slipper end. If you look at the suspension kits, such as # AP216-H202 as an example, some of them have a mix and some have all of one type.

How to Determine Hanger Spacing on a Tandem Axle Trailer with 6K Axles and Slipper Spring Suspension
The hanger spacing is going to depend on a few things including the spring measurements and the equalizers being used. But if you were using spring # e67SR the distance between the hangers would be around 29-3/4 inches. However this is using hanger kit # AP202-H202 with 10-1/8 inch equalizers.
