A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 5,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 500 lbs and 600 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 600 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

Pretty good. I camp with my trailer. Which to me means dirt, grass etc. I also hang out in trailer suburbs, aka “campgrounds “. This is far less stable than my previous stack of wood, and can feel pretty sketchy on lumpy, uneven ground. In fact I’ve had my tongue jack slip off once.
For now I’m sticking with it, but I’m very cautious of how it’s sitting when I disconnect from my truck. On off-level spots (the majority of where I camp), it’s completely normal for the trailer to shift forward or back a bit when I disconnect, and his stand can get really wobbly when that happens. I have to take my time and readjust till it sits solid/flat and I’m comfortable it’s stable.
Great height keeps me from having to crank the jack all the way down to unhitch my trailer
I recently purchased the trailer jack stand and adjustable trailer hitch. It was exactly what I need and expected based on the website description and pictures. The delivery was quick and appreciate you could track the exact location and delivery date. I'd purchase all my trailer needs from etrailer.com.
We used this last weekend on our toy hauler. It fit the jack & held in place great. We don't have to use the old wood anymore.

Still holding its own!
It amazingly supports our camper with no problems. I think it is great because it is easier, lighter and more convenient to carry than several blocks of wood.
using on front support of 7000# trailer and holding up well; lightweight, good size - replaces a couple chunks of 6x6;
product as advertised. My son uses this trailer tongue stand and likes the way it works. Simplifies unhitching trailer.
once again etrailer has proven to be an excellent retailer. They always have what I need, and I very much appreciate the videos which show proper applications and installation. Also I do appreciate the very fast shipping. I have shop with him a number of times and will continue coming back as well as referring others to this company. Thank you
This is a great RV tongue jack. I just wish it would have been taller. I’m still having to carry blocks of wood with me. It would have been great at 12” tall.
Great trailer Jack stand. The height saves such much time cranking my horse trailer up!
Convenient and sturdy. This jack stand was worth the expense!
Jack stand is right height, easily removed when not being used, saves some cranking on jack also.
