Hitch receiver tube is longer than the other etrailer hitches and will extend farther out from the vehicle so accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers extend past the spare tire. No drilling required for installation , Exhaust must be temporarily lowered for installation , Tow hooks, if present, will be permanently removed , Any obstructions on the cross member, such as excess welding, will need to be removed for installation

Durable matte finish resists rust and creates a rugged look.Accompanying instructions a little vague... in particular not mentioned that the two existing Jeep bolts to be re-used have captive nuts, so no amount of grunt work with a wrench will shift them - not entirely obvious as you lay on the ground under the Jeep trying to loosen. Also, Jeep bolt heads are 18mm and the two supplied bolt heads are 3/4", both requiring shallow sockets when using a torque wrench due to proximity of Jeep exhaust silencer (assuming this is not dropped to provide more working space). Some filing of the receiver holes needed to get Jeep bolts back through. Once installed, feels secure and looks good.
Excellent product, poor installation instructions. I have included the photo of the part that had to be removed before I could install the hitch - despite emailing prior to purchase to ensure an exact fit, there was no instruction to remove that part. Once that part was removed, fit was perfect. No need to temporarily remove exhaust, despite recommendation in directions. The vehicle is brand new, Rubicon 4xe. I will only use the hitch for a bike or luggage carrier, but it is heavy duty and would handle more that the Jeeps towing capacity

Product is working great - heavy duty enough to tow a 3,500 pound little camper. Towing limitation is the Jeep, not the hitch!
I read the reviews paying close attention to the fact that I had a Jeep Wrangler with the tire on the rear. I chose this one because it said it would fit and allow bike racks with the tire in place. Item arrived and I easily installed it with no effort at all. Nothing had to be removed unlike the instructions. The picture below is minutes after installation. My Thule 4-bike rack would not slide into place as it was not long enough of a mount which is contrary to what the description said. I reached out to etrailer and was told that I could purchase an extender for $XX dollars more than what I bought the mount for. I contacted a local trailer supply store that had an extender for a lot less money and now it works......
The hitch is well-made and fits perfectly. I needed to drop the muffler to complete the installation as the bolts could not be fed into the holes. The videos mention that that probably wouldn't be necessary. I needed to find a video on YouTube showing how to drop the muffler. This install was made a little tougher crawling under the jeep and squeezing into the tight spaces. I used a motorcycle jack to hold the hitch in place while I got the bolts in. If you have access to a lift the installation would be a breeze. The install took less than an hour even with the extra steps.
You can only use two new bolt sets that come with kit, 2020 Jeep Sahara has extra plate that bolts need to be removed and reused along with two new bolts sets.

Working perfect
Etrailer is very reliable. I have had nothing but good service and our products always arrive timely and when expected. I highly recommend e trailer to anyone looking for great service.
I needed a hitch receiver that would fit my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and extend far enough that I could use by Kuat Sherpa 2.0 platform bike rack and clear the spare tire. This hitch worked perfectly and was an easy install.

Exactly what I needed. I have used on many times and could not be more pleased with the hitch
I wish I could provide a product review. But I was unable to install it given the mounting holes didn’t line up and are out of tolerance to my Jeep mounting holes. I tried to physically return it given I’m only a short drive away and I was told no in-person returns. And it made no sense for me to ship it back when I’m only 30min away. Crazy. About the most inefficient process I’ve ever heard. So, it sits in my garage……
Hitch arrived in a few days. Looks great. Not installed yet.
Super easy to install. Looking forward to ordering additional accessories to maximize this product.
Great fit on our 2023 Wrangler Rubicon. I was able to perform the install without removing the exhaust like stated in the instructions.
Quality product, very well made and fit perfectly on my 2021 Wrangler JL frame. Prompt delivery with shipping updates along the way. The parts bag was ripped open (during shipping I presume) but all the parts were in the box rattling around. The box itself was in perfect condition thank goodness!
Once I figured out the alignment of the bolts it was simple. The 2018 JL has two bolts and a bracket that are already there. U loosen, slide the hitch between the bracket. I reused the 2 stock bolts and used the 2 new bolts. Looks great! Total time for install about 40 mins with torque n the bolts. Havent used it yet but will let u know if there are any issues.

Some models will have existing hardware and a spacer installed in the hitch installation location. If your Jeep has these parts, you will want to remove the bolts and spacer, keeping the bolts for re-installation with the trailer hitch.
Have not installed it yet but looks to be a perfect fit. Very nice finish, matches the stock steel bumpers nicely.
Overall excellent product. Heavy duty, nicely finished and top-notch hardware. Instructions need updating. There are supposed to be 4-holes in the Jeep frame to mount this hitch. There are, but 2-are used by the bumper plate. Had to figure it out myself. Removed the 2-bolts, spread the plate away from the frame to allow the hitch to slide up over the frame. After that, no problem.

Great. No issues. Working as intended.
Nice hitch. the install took about 30 mins on a 21 Sahara including getting tools out and putting them back.
The instructions are not overly clear about the bumper support that needs to be slid out so that the hitch can be install behind it. the instructions should read If this model has a bumper support installed where this hitch is to be installed. remove and reuse the factory 18mm bolts. Loosen the two 10mm bolts to slide the bracket forward enough to install the hitch, re-tighten once the hitch is installed. It should also show a diagram or picture in the instructions.
There is absolutely no need to mess with the exhaust - there is plenty of room to do the install with the exhaust in place.
Past the instructions - this is a nice hitch. the paint seems very nice and it seems to be made well. the welds look good and the 1/4"plate frame seems very stout. Its nice you don't have to remove or cut anything to do this install. Its also great to see quality SAE hardware vs the metric junk including in so many things now a days. This seems like a quality hitch.
Received the hitch in the morning, we installed it that afternoon. After watching an installation video from the etrailer website, my husband installed the hitch on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLU. It took him about an hour to complete. We bought the extended length hitch. The product fit perfectly and no need to remove the muffler.
Like mentioned in previous posts, on my 2019 Moab, the two outer bolt holes have an L bracket attached already. The nuts are welded onto that bracket so no need to put a wrench on those. Slip the hitch between the steel and that bracket using the same two bolts (18mm) you just removed as well as two bolts and nuts supplied (3/4”) for the inner holes. Once again as mentioned by others, I didn’t need to move the muffler and the rubber mallet worked great to tap the hitch to line everything up perfectly.
Love the matte finish. Great quality.
Works great with my 2021 Wrangler Sport. Gives decent clearance past the spare tire. Some rust spots already after one year that need to be touched up, but that’s what salted roads do to stuff in the northern states. Of course, I added the flag plug for extra bumper appeal.
Great trailer hitch. Easy to install. The video on line was a great help as it tells you how to install and what you might run into as having to clear out the holes that the bolts run through. only added a few minutes to the job. Shipping was fast.

This hitch works great combined with the MaxxHaul 70101. Clears the spare and my Yamaha TW 200 fits nicely. Those are also the recommended tie downs

I researched and found that there is install note that needs to be added to the manual. Some models may have existing bolts attaching a plate with weldnuts on it. The hitch will need to be slid inbetween the bracket and the mounting tube witht he factory hardware reinstalled, securing the hitch.
