Swing Away Bike Rack for 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

I have a 2020 Wrangler Unlimited. I like the swing away design and hitch mount of this carrier. Will it clear the tire on the back of my Wrangler when its closed up for travel?

The Thule Apex Swing XT 4 Bike Rack # TH9027XT fits most Jeep Wrangler's with spare tires. The Apex is the updated version of the Vertex Swingaway. The distance between the center of the hitch pin hole and the closest part of the bike rack that would make contact with the spare tire is 8.8". Some hitches on the Jeep Wrangler don't stick out very far and would create clearance issues. If the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of your spare tire is greater than 8.8" on your Jeep then this rack will not fit.
If you have a hitch that doesn't give you good clearance or you have a large spare tire a good option is using the Yakima BackSwing # Y02483 with a bike rack like the Yakima HoldUp # Y02443-2. This combination gives you a swing-away design with clearance over 17" for each bike rack when folded up.
If you don't have a hitch or would like to switch to one with better clearance the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98856 gives you much better clearance compared to a factory and most after-market hitches. I attached a video about the hitch below.
