The package arrived damaged and the hitch had a chip in the coating from where it came through the box. It would have been good if the hitch itself was wrapped in plastic or something or Maybe some additional packing materials to keep it from flopping around in the Box. Luckily it's on the mounting area. Hopefully it didn't bend but I won't know until I try to install it.

My 3rd Hitch in last 8 years from E-trailers. Tried to save money but 2 other sources failed in delivery and quality. This Hitch is much heavier built and fit perfectly. Installed by myself with help of a motorcycle jack. One from another source arrived without hardware and had one bracket welded 3/8" crooked. Would have never fit without modifications. My Ridgeline has a very tight area to fit. Still waiting on my refund from Walmart.com order. In the end, you get what you pay for.

Overall very good, and easy to install! Two (small) items.
1 - I could not use the bolt for re-hanging the muffler support. The hitch is mounted properly, but the bolt hangs way too low to use the existing support. I am able to use the original support bolts however.
2 - More my fault, but I was not aware a Pin was not included. This actually worked out as I was able to buy a locking pin.

It looks great, the wiring was very easy and the on line videos on Youtube were extremely helpful and accurate! Seems like a great product, very good proactive reaching out on your part, and I would recommend you all to anyone! Thank you!

2006 HondaRidgeline

I purchased this hitch for my 2006 Honda Ridgeline to pull a small trailer to the coast.
I am very pleased with the customer service I got to help me select this hitch receiver as well and the mounting brackets, wiring harness, and adjustable ball mount. The installation videos were a great help and I actually was able to install it alone. Attached are pitctures of the completed installation and I think it looks great.

by:

The hitch arrived on time and fit my 2006 Ridgeline perfectly. I was able to install it myself in 45 minutes. The hitch looks good and is almost totally hidden behind the bumper. This hitch replaced the Honda factory installed hitch that broke in half at one of the weld joints due to improper installation (the center bolts that fasten to the bumper frame had not been installed). When replacing the hitch is when I discovered that the factory hitch had no center weight support all these years. No wonder the weld joint fatigued and finally broke. The new hitch was bolted up properly with the included bolts and for the first time I have a solid hitch. Thank you etrailer.

by:

As described and fit vehicle perfect. One huge issue: corrosion in the bolt hole was so bad it took me forever to get the bolts secure. I started by using PB Blaster and wire Brush. I had to spray PB Blaster multiple times and run the bolts in as far as they would go then back them out. Then repeat gaining a little more depth each time.

Ordered a drawtite hitch and when it arrived, it did not fit. Bolt holes an inch off on one side. So sent it back and ordered a Curt on my mechanics recommendation. It arrived on time and everything fit my truck perfectly. Easy to install. The only complaint would be on packaging, holes in both sides of box and corner crushed in. Maybe doubling up the corners and the area of the receiver and that would help. Overall very happy with the product, I would highly recommend the Curt hitch to everyone needing a hitch, avoid the drawtite.

It could have just been a case of flexed hitch with the Draw-tite receiver. Whatever the case, I am glad the Curt brand fits well.

The hitch is working as advertised! Very satisfied.

by:

Good hitch receiver, easy to install.

by:

The product was fine. However, it arrived bent. It likely got bent during shipping and it wasn’t packaged well at all for something that is heavy and just getting tossed around with every other package. The packaging was just some cardboard wrapped around the steel hitch.

The hitch had toe-nailed in and so did not fit the truck. The sides had squeezed together so to speak. It took a while to rig a setup that I could bend it back and get it close to lining up with the car

Finding the right one to buy on your website was a breeze. Fitting a bent piece of steel to a car was not.

When a trailer hitch is constructed, softer steel is used in the side plates as opposed to the harder steel used in the crossbar and receiver tube. This allows the hitch to flex along with the vehicle to a certain degree. This flexibility can also allow the hitch to get slightly bent out of position during shipping and handling. The good news is that its very easy to fix this if you know a few tricks as shown in the linked article.

2010 HondaRidgeline

I bought the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, wiring harness and ball mount for a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The receiver fit perfectly. The installation instructions and videos were very well done. It took me about 2 hours to install everything, but because my vehicle is 10 years old about 45 minutes was spent cleaning the frame and existing threaded holes of dirt and rust. I don't normally write reviews but etrailer.com was so great with customer service and their product, I wanted to let them know that.

Bought this Curt trailer hitch for my 2008 Ridgeline and couldn't be happier. I bought the hitch primarily to put a bike rack on my truck, but also to have the option to tow in the future. The hitch was super, super easy to install. I had two people help to hold it up on each end to get the bolts in. Everything lined up perfectly and total install time with a little was 15 mins. Great experience with etrailer, from ordering, order tracking, shipping and delivery.

by:

Piece of cake installtion. It took about 45 minutes. I would recommend using 24" thick 175 lbs. zip ties. I used one on each end and routed them through the bolt hole and frame hole to lift the hitch up close to the bolt holes. Helped line up each side then placed one bolt in center and did the other side. Easy peezy!

Perfect fitnebt for my ridgeline 2008. still don’t have the electrical hooked up but that’s on me.

2007 HondaRidgeline

Purchased hitch, wiring harness, and ball mount kit for Honda Ridgeline. Everything was shipped in 1 box. Printed directions were confusing. Watching online installation videos were great. They walked me step-by-step through the installation. Installing the hitch and wiring took about 3hrs which I thought was pretty good since I'd never installed a trailer hitch before.

by:

Easy install; (just over an hour). Electrical harness was clean and looks like there will never be issues with it). The hitch and receiver worked perfectly and was a life saver while moving and doing some larger home projects. It (the hitch) is one of those items for your vehicle you don’t think about until you need it. This hitch and receiver are a no brainer at a competitive price.

2015 HondaRidgeline

I have a 2006 Ridgeline that I bought in 2005. It never had a trailer hitch receiver, so the weld nuts had a lot of corrosion on them. I spent probably an hour cleaning them with lots of spray lubricant and a wire brush for 3/8 copper pipe. Time well spent. It took my son and myself 15 minutes to install Perfect fit.
Thanks CURT TRAILER & ETRAILER.COM.

Hitch arrived timely and in good condition. Installation was made easy, thanks to the video that accompanies the order. Purchased light kit as well and that was just as easy to install, again , thanks to the video. Highly recommend products from this site and prices are great!

Thanks again for the new hitch and lights!

I ordered my Hitch from Preston, he was very nice on the phone and handled my order fast and perfect.I got my hitch and wire harness very fast.I had the hitch installed in 40 minutes,it fit perfect!!. next was the wire harness, the installation was easy and fast.I had a question about it and the woman on the phone helped me figure out the problem I had.few minutes later it was finished. If you need any hitch, wire harness don't look anywhere else but this company. its very nice to find a true good service company. I will be telling my county about their great products.

by:

I ordered my hitch and got it quickly. Unfortunatl the UPS guy dropped my box and ripped it open losing some of the fasteners. etrailer is sending replacments. They may want to tape the bag of fasteners to the hitch like they did the wiring and receiver.

by:
2008 HondaRidgeline

ONLY TOOK ABOUT 30 MIN TO INSTALL WITH THE TRAILER WIRING THAT CONNECTS TO THE EXISTING TAIL LIGHT PLUGS ON MY TRUCK I AM HAPPY WITH HOW SMOOTH THE INSTALL WENT, AND ON TOP OF THAT I SAVED 200 DOLLARS BY NOT TAKING MY TRUCK TO A PLACE THAT WANTED TO CHARGE ME 425 DOLLARS FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT, IT IS VERY WORTH IT GOING THROUGH ETRAILER FOR THE PARTS AND THE VIDEOS SHOWING YOU HOW TO INSTALL THEM

by:

I was surprised at the amount of time it took to get the hitch I ordered. I ordered it on a Saturday got it on Wednesday. The really surprising part was the ease of which it was to install. I ordered the light kit with it. The hitch arrived at 5:15 pm and my son and I started the install we took a break for supper and finished at 6:30 pm.
The last hitch I installed was many years ago and that was a nightmare. I would order from this company if I ever needed another hitch in a New York minute.

by:
2006 HondaRidgeline

Pretty easy to install. Only negative was the fit at the rear muffler rubber mount. I had to pull the tailpipe down 2+ inches to install on the welded all thread on the hitch. I can see that this is probably necessary to move the muffler outlet pipe far enough away from the hitch cross member for clearance.

by:

My hitch (& wiring harness) arrived today and based on my research hands down Curt is the way to go for hauling. I look forward to doing just that. Even more impressive was the customer service I got from Katrina at etrailer when I called to place my order. She was patient, thurough and took the extra time to make sure I was satisfied we had all the right parts. If Katrina is any indication of how they do business at etrailer I will be back for more accessories without question. Happy trails.

  • Solution Hitch Install on 2006 Honda Ridgeline Where Holes Don't Line Up
Sometimes hitches can get slightly bent during shipping and this can be fixed by bending the hitch back into place as long as the hitch only has a slight bend to it. If yours isn't lining up I can almost guarantee that is what happened. Some people will use open steps for leverage, vices and even car jacks to apply controlled force to bend the hitch back. You will want to look for flaking paint and physical stress marks on the hitch before and after you attempt to bend the hitch back....

Hey Elias, so the Curt hitch part # 13385 does not have any brackets built into it for attaching to trailer wiring. • Setting Up 2008 Honda Ridgeline For Towing Landscape Trailer
The Curt # 13385 Class III hitch would be a great choice for towing your mower. We typically recommend a weight distribution hitch for trailers that weigh more than half of what the vehicle weighs, but since you're right on that line, and because you have the ability to shift the mower fore or aft of the trailer axle to keep the tongue weight close to the recommended 10% of the trailer weight, you should be fine without weight distribution. You will also need a trailer wiring harness...
